Easily my favourite rock band ever. Hit after hit, so many fantastic riffs. With the news that Brian Johnson can no longer tour (because of his hearing issues), I feel shame I likely missed my chance to see the band in concert. I basically grew up with these guys as the soundtrack to my life.

Whether it was Bon Scott or Johnson behind the mic, they just kept delivering classic rock tunes year after year.

Thank you for the thread! AC/DC is my favourite band of all time.

I bought tickets to see their Rock or Bust tour last year, but couldn't because we were sitting in Toronto traffic for 5 hours straight, not moving at all. Fuck Toronto.

Good thread. The band is really underappreciated these days. Been a huge AC/DC fan for my whole youth (since 7th grade, when I gave a presentation about the band in class).

Seen them 9 times overall across the last three tours (one concert was them playing "Support" for the Rolling Stones in Leipzig... that was pretty unique and awesome, too). We almost went to see them with Axl but it didn't happen. Kinda regretting that now. I would've loved to hear Riff Raff or Touch Too Much live just once!

Fantastic band to see live, they put on a better show than many bands less than half their age. Sucks you never got to see them OP.

Doing the soundtrack for the coke fueled romp "Maximum Overdrive" must've been a career high.

Is Thunderstruck's electronic guitar opening the craziest and most complicated piece of work? Yes it is.

The moment that song came out, it came the official "get pumped" pre-game song at all our neighborhood ball hockey games. We'd have someone's car doors open, with that song just cranked while everyone warmed up in whichever parking lot or city street we were setting up in.

It was awesome.

Good thread. My Dad always had Acca Dacca playing when I was growing up, and credits them to being responsible for a fair chunk of his hearing loss.

Not a bad way to lose it.

Easily my favorite band of all time. First album I ever bought was Highway to Hell. Got to see them for the 9th time last August before Brian left but I cant bring myself to see them with Axl.

Now with Cliff leaving, I think its time for them to call it a day.

Now if I could get better sounding versions of the mid 80s albums thatd be great. Some great tracks in there that are just decimated by shitty production.

I appreciate Brian Johnson and he did a great job filling the shoes of Bon Scott, but AC/DC with Scott were on a whole nother level.

Probably my favourite Bon Scott track: Soul Stripper

I could listen to that bass line all day.

Favourite Brian Johnson track is harder, a lot of great ones. Cliched but it's probably Back in Black, just an awesome track and a great tribute.

Thunderstruck opening always gives me goosebumps, what a tremendous buildup.

I've been listening to Fly on the Wall lately since I never owned the album in my youth and loving it now.

Ahhh year 9 mathes, we had a fill in teacher who we used gave a bit of a hard time. A group of 4 or 5 of us would break out into random 'TNT!, Oi, Oi - TNT! Oi, Oi'. No real reason, was just kinda funny at the time.

Also, Thunderstruck remains one of the most hype tracks of all time. Great to chuck on when you wanna get pumped for something

i always thought they were an ok Band with a few great songs..

but then i saw them live for their rock or bust Tour and I WAS BLOWN AWAY! the Sound is incredible, the Show is great and the Fans were nice.

im glad i saw them live, i went because a few coworkers were Fans and there were so many rumors with the drummer about to go to jail etc. so i went... to probably one of the best Concerts of my life

The Bon Scott albums were amazing. I really like jailbreak a lot.

With Johnson however it was formulaic, though a good formula. I have always stated my feelings that every fan of music should own one post Scott album, but you really only need one, Back in Black being my choice.

in jojo there are a few characters that reference AC/DC, for example, the one that I posted is named D4C, its short for Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Someone within the show also has a power named after one of the AC/DC albums as well, Ballbreaker. Theres someone named Esidsi as well
Nice. I'm assuming jojo is some sort of anime?

Pretty amazing band. They basically only have one type of song they wrote but they do it really well. Unfortunately it does look they're pretty much done since there's about to be nobody left but Angus. Really sad what happened with Malcolm's dementia too, he's not even 65 yet. The same thing happened to my mom.

Anyway, how about some love for their great ballad Ride On. I couldn't find the original version with Bon on YT.

Live at Donington is one of my most-played concert blu-rays. What it lacks in picture quality some times it more than makes up with an amazing performance by the Johnson-era AC/DC at its peak.

BTW, as much as I liked Bon Scott, the band really hit a home run when they chose Brian Johnson to replace him. I read that they auditioned singer after singer and all these guys tried out by singing like Bon and doing all Bon's stage moves, and none of them felt right. Then Brian Johnson came along with a larger-than-life stage persona that in no way tried to copy Bon, and the band just clicked with him. That fact that he was a regular working-class bloke that the guys could enjoy a beer with sealed the deal.
