Whenever I see stories about girls going this route in life or becoming pornstars or strippers I wonder about how they were raised. I mean. It's not a bad Idea to live off of the money of losers on the internet but I always think: do these girls have parents?

I think it's less about parenting and more about the state of the world. People talk so much about role models for young girls in fiction. But people like Cardi B and Belle Delphine are the real role models. Whoring their way to fame and fortune.

I think this opens up a complicated and extensive discussion on parenting, nuture vs nature, sexual liberation, the current "gig" economy, the hypocrisy of porn consumers, and the internet as a whole.

The truth of it is that there is no easy answer that will satisfy everyone about how/why some girls choose this profession.

I will say that at least the absolute biggest positive I've seen from these solo acts on something like OnlyFans is that at least girls don't have to deal with the drug culture and skeevy porn producers anymore while limiting themselves to exactly how far they want to go. Maybe that's some small comfort to parents?

A relatively popular ASMR Youtuber joined Only Fans a while back and did a bit of an explanation as to why she did it.

I mean principally everything came down to her needing the money (and apparently she's making a lot), and obviously, it's a post-rationalisation of sorts, but that whole aspect of ownership in terms of it her being the one who calls the shots versus a third party I thought was an interesting one.
