Is that directed at me? I wasn't talking about Cruise...

Harold and Kumar is holding up pretty well. I wonder if it can hit 25 million in the BO?

67 percent drop off for The Village. Ouch! M Night and Buena Vista lucky this movie suckered in people from the first week hype. Otherwise it would have bombed hard. M night if you read these boards PM me I'd like you to send my $8.50 back.

67% dropoff for The Village. Looks as if word-of-mouth is going to kill this puppy pretty quickly.

EDIT: Just for reference, Catwoman only had a 61% dropoff in its second weekend.

But then again, Catwoman had a terrible opening weekend too.

Here are the costs for Collateral:
Production Budget: $65 million
Est. Marketing Costs: $40 million

$40 million for marketing?!?!?

Is The Village really that bad?

If you like Shymalan's other movies you should probably see it for yourself and decide. I didn't think it was great but I still enjoyed it and thought it was worth the seven bucks. *shrug*

...yes. I saw it Friday night, only becauses the Missus is a HUGE M. Night fan.... she enjoyed it... but she didn't think it was great... knowing the plotline before going in I could appreciate some of the cinematography... but personally thought the movie was absolute crap.

Disney is getting owned all over the place this year. They shouldn't have released King Arthur this summer.

National Treasure looks like it'll be another big-budget bomb. God it looks awful.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Well, Disney gets to distribute Pixar's The Incredibles in November, which should make them some good bank, although probably not close to what Finding Nemo did. Not every year can be a good year, and 2003 was also an incredibly good year for Disney, far beyond their average in recent history.

Collateral's take is pretty much in line with most of Mann's openings, and I'd say his influence is greater than Cruise's in this case. This wasn't a big action movie for the mainstream, and Cruise as a villain wasn't going to bring in all of his normal crowd. Add in the R rating and the fact that it faces no real direct competition for quite some time, and I'd say it's performing pretty well, right there at where expectations should have been.

Bourne Supremacy will pass the first film's adjusted domestic gross sometime over the next day or two, which is pretty damned great. 11-12 days and you're already more successful than the first film? I think audiences are quite clear in saying this is a series they really like. Let's get Ultimatum rolling for 2006!

You know I have to say that as a Cage fan this movie looks... halfway interesting... the premise at least seems unique enough, but damn that title for some reason just sounds like complete ass.

I hope Collateral has osme legs.

Another thing people, don't take those marketing numbers to heart. They are guesstimates(at best) made by Boxofficemojo.

I think it looks pretty cool too actually. The trailer is what sold me...I mean they're trying to steal the Dec of Ind, thats practically impossible. So it'll be fun to see nic cage try to do it.

Saw Collateral over the weekend.

Great movie!

Maybe the best I have seen this year.

I like Michael Manns stuff, especially Heat.

Had hoped it would have done a bit better though. :(

It's not scary. At all.

Okay, there's one scene that may scare you, but the entire movie is all build-up with no delivery upon that tension.

Seriously, if you're expecting a scary movie, don't waste your money.
