Who’s gonna tell him …This feels like a way to keep COD on PS5. Now they have Halo to bargain with.

There’s literally very few IPs that would ever be worth bringing back. Most of them are dead for a reason sadly. Destiny is a bigger IP than Resistance, Killzone and SOCOM combined - why would they chuck Destiny in the bin to work on a dead IP that was never huge in the first place? Makes no sense apart from to satisfy a nostalgia boner.I cringe every time I read about these dead and buried IPs. There’s even people talking about ressurecting Motorstorm.
Microsofts main goal is Gamepass, and growing it. To do that you need hardware sales as Gamepass is a game download service. Sony IMO will never allow Gamepass on Playstation as it would just be too bad of a look. So Microsoft need Xbox sales, and COD being Xbox console exclusive will deliver that in droves.
Is almost as if you are willfully ignoring what is written in plain text for all to see. Both COD and Bungies next game will be pc and respective platform exclusive. Once one is announced exclusive the other will just shrug their shoulders and reciprocate.
You are wasting your time. Facts is a language not many around here speak, let alone understand. To people that won't enter in the Discord Server.
Destiny is that HUGE!
Socom nor Killzone are failed ip's... Socom 1 2 and even 3 are still one of the best online games in early 2000's.Disney made out like a Bandit.
Marvel + Lucasfilm = ZeniMax
Fox = Activision.
900+ studio is going to make a New IP not some failed old IP like Killzone or Socom.
It was launched late on Steam.
The original launcher is Battle.net.
Ok, so you have no idea what you're talking about and have flown off on a tangent now that I've made that painfully clear. I won't reply again. Best of luck friend. You also don't understand that they are owned by Sony now, the reason for the MS fallout was that MS wanted them to just make Halo and they did not.
MS still owned them, the only threat they could make was everyone quitting or making their own studio.
Sony could still give them creative freedom, and still say ya know what, make what you want but its no on MS platforms.
you cannot deny, no matter what they say about being independent, they are OWNED by Sony and are too big to do what they did in 2007 when they threatened MS to quit if they didn't let them break off on their own. It's rare that EVER happens, wake up.
bungie acquired by microsoft
leaves microsoft, joins activision
leaves activision, joins sony
leaves sony, joins nintendo?
If I’m Jimbo I would rather spend 63 billion on AB than 3.6 billion for the Destiny IP.After 63 billion for Activision? Really
No they aren't. They don't have their own board of directors. They're under Microsoft Games.
Bungie is a SIE subsidiary, but they maintain their own board of directors and remain a self-publisher. They aren't part of PlayStation Studios.
So these SteamDB numbers are not reliable with Bungie’s API data… or they track different things (daily activity is different from concurrent players). It's not possible to play it through Battle.net at all anymore. Steam is the ONLY PC launcher for it now.
Not PlayStation exclusive could easily mean PlayStation & PC and a cloud solution (they’ve still got an Azure deal, right?)Is almost as if you are willfully ignoring what is written in plain text for all to see.
What part of this are you struggling with?
Q. Bungie has future games in development, will they now become PlayStation exclusives?
No. We want the worlds we are creating to extend to anywhere people play games. We will continue to be self-published, creatively independent, and we will continue to drive one, unified Bungie community.
I like this from Sony, going straight were Microsoft are too scared to.
Buying someone to complete their own portfolio, not to remove it from somewhere else.
Post of the year locked up 100%This feels like a way to keep COD on PS5. Now they have Halo to bargain with.
Bungie was valued at 2 billion recently, Sony paid nearly double, its a very bad deal.I wonder how people know whether this is a good or bad adquisition without knowing:
a) Bungie's financial statements
b) Bungie's future work
c) Additional IPs like game engines, business research (GaaS development), etc.
I would say that is rather significant.They developered halo 1 - 3.
I guess it WAS.Oh, boy Phil is gonna be pissed, Isn't Destiny like his favorite game
How so? Steam is the ONLY way to play the game on PC. It no longer exists on Battle.net, you had to migrate your purchase to Steam when Bungie split from Activision. So these SteamDB numbers are not reliable with Bungie’s API data… or they track different things.
Who valued that? Using which parameters?Bungie was valued at 2 billion recently, Sony paid nearly double, its a very bad deal.
As long as there is one launcher, it should be okay.It was launched late on Steam.
The original launcher is Battle.net.
In any case I don’t know how that Steam DB works because around 30% of activity are PC users.
Charlemagne, Destiny Warmind
Fully featured and proven Discord bot for Destiny 2. Charlemagne provides access to a rich collection of stats, clan leaderboards, lfg/event management, and clan management tools for PVP and PVE players.warmind.io
So Playstation is heading in a service based direction too..
Warmind uses Bungie’s API.As long as there is one launcher, it should be okay.
There seems to be some question marks about the stats either steamdb or warmind.io, I don't know if there is any way to clear it up. Steamdb.info is using the steam api afaik (https://steamdb.info/faq/ )

Sony and Microsoft are only in competition in their fanboys minds these days.
MS are no threat to Sony's console business.
Sony are no threat to Microsofts Software business.
In these enlightened times, it really wouldn't surprise me to see Bungie making another Halo game, that's multiplatform.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Uncharted on xbox either.
The times are changing.
You missed this?Post of the year locked up 100%
And they are still gonna keep Destiny multi-platform? I can understand Call of Duty because it generates so much money, but Destiny?
I assume this is because of the eventual Destiny 3, they want that as a massive exclusive PS5 franchise, I assume.
Phil's vague comments, and lies to the markets has you all twisted mate. Not PlayStation exclusive could easily mean PlayStation & PC and a cloud solution (they’ve still got an Azure deal, right?)
The real question is, does this really signal the acquisition war?
I feel like this one is just for the sake of an acquisition.
Its not a catalog of titles for gamepass, its not gonna be exclusive, it doesnt really do much other than add a studio and revenue to Sony.
I think we are gonna see almost all devs be bought, and bought shortly. This really is the beginning.
Any companies out there wanting ip needs to act swiftly or the shelves are gonna be bare. That the definition of buying pressure.
Serious question then, if that’s the case what have Sony spent £3b on?
Guess that means Destiny 3 is coming to Switch, Android and IOS then. You’ve convinced me. I repent, and won’t wank off to my Phil Spencer shrine with my green dildo up my arse tonight.Phil's vague comments, and lies to the markets has you all twisted mate.
"We want the worlds we are creating to extend to anywhere people play games."
Pretty clear.
Unless people don't play games on xbox anymore?

But destiny is both free to play and staying multiplat. Not surprisingly as free to play has little reason to he exclusive.I think the reasoning of this acquisition is:
-To own a top tier FPS IP
-To own a top tier big scale MP game
-To own a top tiear GaaS
-To own future potential top tier new FPS/MP/GaaS IPs, these folks are the ones who created Halo and Destiny
-To have a top FPS/MP/GaaS team to teach or support the other PS Studios teams on the related topics
-To secure that Bungie, Destiny and future Bungie new IPs aren't bought by people like MS who would potentially try to put them away from PS and Spartacus
Sorry, I meant comment of the year. You missed this?
You can play all the games you want at 60 FPS on Bravia TV if you want
Don't know if someone already knew it or if it works with XSX or PS4 and other consoles, but there is a "trick" to play all your games "at 60 FPS", at least on ps5, with a new Bravia TV . Keep in mind I'm not english so my translation of the menu setting could be completely wrong. It's very...www.neogaf.com
So I’ve heard, from some former cod devs to. But idk, I’m huge halo fan bungie proved enough for me whatever they make will be successful, that 2nd party game will have to see.I think it was important for them to own, and also have someone to teach their other teams:
-Top tier FPS games
-Top tier MP games with huge communities
-GaaS
Plus they make sure MS doesn't keep them away from PS.
Sony now doesn't only has Destiny and Bungie, they also have a 2nd party game coming from a studio of former Halo/Destiny/Apex Legend leads and another one from former COD BO leads.
Honestly, this sounds really stupid.
They paid a studio more than half than the whole Activision?
Nintendo won't let this shit on their platform....Guess that means Destiny 3 is coming to Switch, Android and IOS then. You’ve convinced me. I repent, and won’t wank off to my Phil Spencer shrine with my green dildo up my arse tonight.
Destiny 2 is not exactly free to play. But destiny is both free to play and staying multiplat. Not surprisingly as free to play has little reason to he exclusive.
Why is it stupid?Honestly, this sounds really stupid.

3.5b is less than 7 or 70 so it must be bad. Sony has a moron as a leader haven't you read the script? Sony as a corporation will declare bankruptcy after next year cod, haven't you read all this professional analyst in all this threads? Pick one of the 3 or a mix of the three and you have your answerI wonder how people know whether this is a good or bad adquisition without knowing:

b) Bungie's future work
