They really don't. It's so terrible and out of place. The characters become completely different people for the purposes of the sex scenes. They don't fit into the story at all.

That shows that the writer(s?) simply didn't have the skills to write believable and emotional sex scenes. Which is fairly common, too. See: every romance in a sci-fi/fantasy story ever.

Not disagreeing that it was poorly done, just saying that it tried to integrate the actions into the story. Justifying it by saying that
there's a high concentration of magic in semen.

Dumb, but it fits. Barley, but it does.

CG dragons make a lot more sense! That was a pretty entertaining replacement though, but I don't know what the PS2 version replaced for the Heaven's Feel route.

So I'm at my parents' place where all my old games are and found a couple more visual novels I purchased a long time ago - Divi-Dead and Eve Burst Error. These are the English versions. I don't think I ever played them.

Are these any good? Or worth anything?

Hahahahhaha, Divi-Dead, complete with really badly done porn sex scenes sprinkled with incoherent storytelling.

It's interesting, but the embarrassingly-bad written sex scenes where all the girls just decide for no reason to suddenly take off their clothes and do the protagonist really take you out of any possible seriousness.

Now, it's admittedly a very early example of the VN genre, so it gets a pass for its archaicness, but still, it's just funny how awkward-guy-highschool-wish-fulfilment it is.

Oh man, I'm really disappointed now.

You forgot to add the bit about really frustrating gameplay where you randomly visit places on the map hoping to trigger ANYTHING...that said it was the first VN I played along with True Love 95 so it holds tons of nostalgia for me...

Well if they see the money in it they will do it eventually. I mean they ported Chaos;Head Noah to the PS3 after so long.

It could happen, they port their stuff everywhere, JAST just wouldn't have any involvement in it. The future plans they spoke about aren't for Robotics;Notes.

Damn. How were there more conflicting interests for Chaos;Head than Steins;Gate? Aren't the same companies involved with both?

The conversation continued, and maybe it's not really as bad as all that. I guess it's all up to Steins;Gate's choice performance.

That sounds like a pretty firm denial and a clear indicator that it won't happen.

Really? I got a different impression, that previously there wasn't interest on the Japanese side of things, but we never know what the future might bring.

Also, I forgot to include this other conversation which I took into account when I came to my conclusion:

Phew, after two and a half years, we finally finished translating 07th Expansion's Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni. More time now for me to actually read some VNs instead of working on them, I guess. :p

As for MangaGamer and the ESRB, I'm guessing that's for a hardcopy of ef - a fairy tale of the two. The reason why a hardcopy wasn't possible before was that minori (the developer) was concerned about legal responsibility. If it got an ESRB rating, then there wouldn't be any legal issues. If I'm right, then it could mean that ef could be completely uncensored (as opposed to having reduced mosaics). Then again, I don't have any insider information regarding this title and could be completely wrong.

LMAO

The progress reach 98.75% 8 month ago, and yet still not finished.

Thing is: we don't know how much time they'll take to edit and TLC the whole thing, and that is at 74.6%. Seemingly, Ranmafan is the only one who can do that (and btw, I've seen another user with that username around GAF, but I'm not sure if he's the same guy, since I've never dared to ask)

That's not the real progress. They are using some fucked up crowd sourced translation method where anyone can come in and edit the project. They've had problems with people messing around and inserting machine translations in. The verified % is the only thing that matters and that's in the 70s.

Just started Never 7 and its a bit slow so far.. not really sure what the main story is but I did get a little Ever 17 vibe in the very opening scene and noticed
One route is called the 'Cure' route... maybe a connection

So World End ECONOMiCA, which passed Steam Greenlight, is going to have a Kickstarter to fund localization of episodes 2 and 3.
Sekai Project and Spicy Tails are teaming up to bring WORLD END ECONOMiCA to the West. Due to the success of the Steam Greenlight campaign for episode 1 of WORLD END ECONOMiCA, we will be localizing episodes 2 and 3 of the trilogy. Funding for WORLD END ECONOMiCA Complete (working title) will be raised using the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.

We are currently attempting to raise $33,000 USD, which includes our localization and programming costs. If we add any physical tiers, the cost will increase. In order to gain a better understanding of your expectations, we will be using Prefundia to obtain some preliminary feedback before the Kickstarter campaign commences.

So how do you all feel about the VNs hitting the PS3? Sure, Aksys is doing both of them, but I think we're about to hit a golden age.
