I was playing Riddick for second time when I noticed the interesting prison tattoos on some of the prisioners. Surprisingly they all looked fairly real, with some graphic motives of women including the one posted here, which kinda irked my curiosity. How did they manage to avoid the ESRB and go away with this without a sexual content warning? I thought they were quite intransigent with this kind of things, yet Riddick features "detailed" female nudes and giant male genitalia painted over the walls like the one in the feed ward.

What other mainstream games have some unadvised sexual content? I know this is not a big deal, but I am currently writing something about developers slipping pranks in their games and this could help me.

Apparently, in the Japanese version of Secret of Mana, there was an enemy in the Mana Fortress called the "Porno Book". Like the "Mystic Book" enemy, it would occasionally flip its pages and cast spells. However, once in a great while, the Porno Book's pages would land on a picture of a nude woman. This enemy's name was changed to "National Scar" for the American version of Secret of Mana, however, the nude woman is still there! This is absolutely 100% true and can be seen on any copy of the game. Here is a screenshot and an enlarged picture of the National Scar:

That Secret of Mana picture is so rare that I have only seen it once... oddly enough it was my first playthrough of perhaps a dozen.

I was always surprised that Xenogears got away with a T and no mention of sexual content with the bedroom scenes for Fei/Elly and Ramsus/Miang as well as Elly's description of how great it felt to have her lover inside her.

The ESRB is a completely voluntary system. Games can be released unrated, although alot of places will only carry ESRB-badged games and typically within a certain rating-range. The ESRB system is essentially a compromise birthed of the whole Joe Lieberman "video games are turning our kids into Satanists" era. Things could be alot worse. Yeah, game makers can sneak stuff under the radar of the ESRB, but that'll eventually just draw attention to the flaws of the system and we'll get more whiney senators that won't be contempt until we're all playing 'Barbie's Dream Horse Whatever'...

Given that the game was already "M", my guess is that they just ran out of room for descriptors or thought that it wasn't that big a deal relative to the other M-ish stuff in the game. As has been mentioned, and contrary to popular belief, unlike the MPAA which screens entire movies before rendering a rating, the ESRB looks at whatever materials are SUBMITTED, and only what's submitted, before issuing a rating.

Ah! Finally a chance to use all this useless knowledge I have of Rare games...

In the dinosaur level of Banjo-Tooie, there's a series of islands that, if you fly up to the top of the stage and look down, form a giant, ejaculating penis. Seriously.

That's the best screen I could find of it...

Again in Banjo-Tooie, one of the bosses is a gigantic balloon dinosaur with it's tie-off right where its pecker'd be...

Also, in Grabbed by the Ghoulies, one of the girls you're supposed to save is being held by tenticles and dressed in a ravaged schoolgirl uniform. :lol

There's a LOT more in Ghoulies (like the TITLE, for instance) but it's been a while since I played it last. (One of my bastard friends still has my Xbox...been almost half a year. >:\ )

Going back to Banjo-Tooie, there's a segment of a level called "Clinker's Cavern." Clinker is Brittish slang for "dingleberry" and also, the Clinkers themselves look like little balls of poop, complete with gassy farting sounds.
There's also a place in the Grunty Industries level where there's a men's and women's bathroom, and if you knock on the women's bathroom door enough, a little rabbit will yell things at you, like, "Aaagh! Splashback!" :lol

And not sexual or dirty, but a "WTF!?" moment was in Star Fox Adventures, when Fox first sees Krystal and that jazzy saxaphone music starts playing. I was litterally rolling on the floor with laughter from that.

And the last one for now, in Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64, but likely in the XBox version too) if you let Conker stand idle for a while, he'll do different things to entertain himself. One of these things is to pull out a dirty mag (titled, "Beaver") and if you swing the camera around his shoulder fast enough, there's a naked girl (beaver?) centerfold.

Rare game have THE most hidden dirty/sexual content out of any that I've played. Those sneaky Brits.

Anyways, I remember with the original Lunar: Eternal Blue for SegaCD that there was this scene where Hiro walks in on Lucia bathing and she turns around to give you a full-frontal shot. :lol I luaghed so much at that as a kid because I'd never seen animated nudity in a game before and the first game had been edited to hell and back (when Alex gave Ghaleon the middle finger, his middle finger was obviously removed/edited out). L:EB was rated PG also IIRC.

Xenogears it wasn't anything really... we get to see Fei and Ells gazing into one another's eyes (in an animé FMV), and then we get back to the regular game, see Fei, and Elly is still in bed, and there is no dialogue. It's more like the aftermath of a love scene, but it wasn't anything.

I noticed a cat keychain on the back of the Star Ocean 3 box (can't say I've played the game), and decided to model it in 3ds max.

Developer made. It is the map AS-Junkyard in Unreal Tournament 2004. One of my favorite Assault maps I might add.

It is even better when you relize that you have to snake your truck through the map to ultimatly drive into that hole and win :lol
