With all this talk about SSDs and the future of PC gaming i was wondering how much RAM do you have in your current system and whether you are going to add anymore for next gen? I have 32gb ram and 8gb VRAM(2080 Super) and i feel pretty safe for next gen. I can't imagine most games requiring that much ram to run.

I haven’t upgraded my RAM since I built my current PC 4 years ago. It’s just 16gigs. It’s the last/only thing I haven’t upgraded. Probably need to throw in another 16 gigs soon

16gb, I simply don't use any more even if I convince myself that I do.

I have an integrated GPU in my Intel Core i7 in my Mac and 16 GB of RAM. I don't do any gaming on it. :)

Your 8gb vram is the bottleneck series x already uses 10, and ps5 could use 14, 8gb is last gen already 16gb will be the minimum this gen just wai n see and domt depend on ur system ram the next gen consoles stream directly from the ssds to the gpu and cpu if needed on ur case its increased latency since ur pc has to stream from hhd or ssd to main memory and then to vram.

16GB. Was happily gaming on 8GB until I got the game "Space Engineers". That game was virtually unplayable with 8GB. And of course, I had to upgrade right as RAM prices where skyhigh.

Does 32gb these days actually matter vs 16gb? 2 questions really.......

For regular use/video editing?

For gaming?

If you're editing videos, yeah man it really helps.
In games, eh, 16 is more then plenty.
But this is likely to change when next gen ports start coming in.

16GB DDR3 2133Mhz that I plan to upgrade to 16GB (at first) DDR4 along my old ass 2600K when I will be switching to Ryzen 4xxx probably
8GB VRAM on 1070

128GB SATA3 SSD for OS and game or two
480GB SATA3 SSD for games (dirt cheap and bought ~6 months ago)
1TB HDD + 512MB USB HDD for "data" (porn, movies and games that run fine on HDD)

Recently discovered 4K 60 fps porn videos, that takes lot of space :messenger_winking:
