Is the porn the last industry to have blatant racism AND profit from it?

On a side note, I'm a black guy but I mostly find myself watching white, latina, asian etc. girls in porn. Why? Cos in my experience, the super hot black girls don't usually do porn! I'm a face guy :p

I guess they're in music videos or whatever lol

Okay, so here is a question for you.

I am a very liberal, forward thinking CEO of some major porn label. I decide to change policy in my company to insist that we have at least some interracial porn in our repertoire. I find out none of my girls want to IR porn - would it be immoral to say "If you don't do IR porn, than you're fired"? I honestly don't know the answer to that question.

Dont think they have the right to be fired, they researched the studio and knew.
Example would be lavish styles, she didn't do any scenes with black males for like 2 years then did heaps.

I assume was a contracting thing.

Where is that hypothetical coming from? lol

The hilarious issue at hand is that many women do have no problem with black guys, but companies don't want any part of that on camera. They're not being asked to do anything that they don't want to do, they're being asked to not. And with monetary reasoning behind it, many are inclined to roll with it.

Also, black women got worked over harder than anyone. All black pornstars could do was boycott the AVNs and stuff but its not like anyone takes that seriously in the first place.

How many black women are there left?

And male pornstars don't really get to choose much of anything.

The hypothetical was mostly just to get an idea as to where the lines were in the porn industry when it comes to social justice. I understand that many women are willing to have sex with black guys, or even really want to - but don't because of it being a bad business move, or their labels not allowing it. But how do you change that? What actions can you take without it crossing some weird line?

It's a business. Porn is catering to its customer base. They don't have a duty to promote social progress, etc.

If nobody is buying asian-on-black porn then they're not going to bother making it. If, as a girl, doing IR hurts your career then I can't see how you can say they should just do it anyway in the name of social justice.

It sucks but this isn't something you can blame on the workers, IMO. This is an audience issue.
That doesn't make it ok though from a moral standpoint and they should be shamed for it. The companies are saying "Our customers don't like black people so we aren't going to hire them as much" and the female actors are saying "My fans don't like black people so I'm not going to work with any."

I guess these are their choices to make but it's still racial discrimination for the sake of money.

And of course, Mr Marcus had to fuck shit up for everybody. I'll never forgive him for that shit. He was one of my favorites, despite not having the biggest dick. I'm so tired of "thug" types like Wesley Pipes being the image of black performers, but what does it say when one of the "nice guys" knowingly gets people infected with an STD. God dammit

I thought Lex Steele and Sean Michaels were the go to brothers for IR porn?

Sounds like Hollywood.

Why is that?

Then again, you don't typically see a white guy with a black girl so maybe it's just a reflection of society? Maybe the vast majority of white guys (majority of porn consumers) aren't attracted to black girls and just like the fetish crap?

You don't change in that in a capitalist sense - nor do you change it through "oversight"

Porn follows the market. The market would need to change. It always does though. And porn survives just fine whenever the bigger companies die off or get forced to overhaul.

I dunno, I think Hollywood is pretty blatantly racist but no one calls them out for it.

I think the notion of bogeymen in white hoods being the only real racists in society is very outdated. Most racists today tend to be ignorant (sometimes by choice, sometimes not) to racial issues and end up continuing to perpetuate it. Hollywood is definitely in that category still.

Big curvy latin/black women. Its another "thing"/common theme to sell off of

You're also right about some people hardlining on the notattractedtoanythingbutwhitewomen thing. Fetish stuff is easy money in comparison.

Bella Moretti, Mimi Allen, Tila Flame, Skin Diamond, Misty Stone all have had sex with white guys though.

I was reading through the entire post he had written and the only thought on my mind was "This guy is fucking articulate. Why is he doing porn?"

I have to go lie down because my prejudice is showing.

I feel where he's coming from though.

That's life, buddy.

- Hollywood doesn't cast black lead actors in most of their films/TV shows because it's leaving money on the table and/or those films/TV shows don't sell.

- Games don't often have black male protagonists because it's leaving money on the table and/or those games don't sell.

Go ahead and shame these porn companies away. If you succeed, good for you. But my guess is that their customer base doesn't give a fuck and is going to keep paying for the porn they're making.

It's fucked but it's the world we live in. If they don't make those decisions somebody else will, and they'll have all the money for doing so.

I just realized this after finishing the article. I always thought it was a personal decision by the female pornstars. They must have seen some trends and maybe girls lost popularity after doing scenes with black men. What else could it be? Still fucked up but the point of a business is to give consumers what they want...

ps: Just looked up Tila Flame. She is pretty hawt

Haha, I was originally going to make an example using Hollywood, saying "They wouldn't be allowed to operate like this would they?" and then realized that didn't really work as well as I imagined because this sorta thing probably happens within it as well.

if every married white woman in the country had a black ex-BF and that fact were revealed, there would be a 80% divorce rate in the white community.

Yeah if you start looking in your twenties you are close to milf status in porn. Not everyone can look 18 for 27 years like Ami/Tabby.
My wife and I were watching TV and turned on one of the softcore Showtime pornos. The story was about some 18 year old girl and there was a scene where she was talking to her mom and they looked almost identical. The woman playing the mom was like 27 at the oldest lol.

Is it fair to expect them to act otherwise though? If there's one industry that can probably get away with this sort of thing it's the porn industry (and maybe hollywood and modeling).

People have their aesthetic preferences, you're supposed to cater to them if you want to make money.

white guys love them some Diamond Jackson. and Jenna Brooks.

A restaurant wouldn't be allowed to refuse to hire black people or serve black people because it hurt their business but porn is definitely different so I don't know.

I wouldn't say 80%

but fucking a black man is worse than a felony for a lot of people

Oh, alright, I thought it was a weirdly phrased "once you go black..."-reference :p
I have never encountered such a belief here in the UK at least.

It being worse than a felony is somewhat confounded by the fact that a lot of felons are blacks as a result of institutional racism and prejudice.

Great thanks for telling me that me and my race will never have it good. Guess I have to deal. Go enjoy your white privilege now. Boy will my life suck

No he meant a guy would get over her being a felon but can't get over her being with a black guy.

In sexual stimulated environments, there is no hatred. Maybe that's why nobody complains about porn and it can get away with a lot.

Who cares? If porn makes one into a racist, he/she would've become a racist just as easily from any other aspect of life.

i don't think that was a malicious "fuck you black ppl lol" post so much as it was a "shit is obviously fucked up for various, real reasons and maybe shaming them will work but i doubt it"

porn isn't making anyone into racist

and this isn't about hate either

This guy gets it. Shit's fucked up but the way the porn industry acts is a symptom, not the disease.

Yeah, that's always to go to excuse but then some of most popular actresses in the industry do IR scenes. I guess the explanation is they did those scenes from the start but that still seems flimsy to me.
