As much as I love Yakuza no physical release means no buy for me even though I've done it in the past with Yakuza 5 on PS3 digital.It does look cool but two things really bother me.
1.The live action hostess shit is stupid,they should have kept the in game models.
And the most annoying...
2.The "Agent" style of fighting where Tojo Clan's 4th Chairman apparently turns into Sonic the fucking hedgehog and spin dashes around punks.WTF is this shit.
Oh well,at least I still have Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 0 as the GOATs.

It seems they mixed it. When at the hostess club, you'll see the live action. but if you go out, it seems they switch to 3D model. You can see some girls at the end of the trailer, but I'm not sure if they are the same as the hostess club girls
They say it's special trial version, so most likely it's a demo

About the trailer... Can't fuck wait! I've become a Yakuza addict the last few years.. and that wasn't a love at first sight.. tried the Yakuza games from the PS3 days yet didn't connect with them, the combat especially, finally a few years ago i played Y0 and the rest is history, Kiryu is one of my fav characters ever, the definition of badass so please for the love of god don't turn him into some sissy with that hair at Infinite Wealth, not sure how is it logical that a grown man to be bothered by a video game character different hair but i do!
Anyway this game looks so freaking good, i hope it follows both Judgement games and Y7 and runs at 60fps on consoles as it would be the fisrt native action Yakuza on PS5/XSX. I'm super hyped!

I just checked on Xbox app and my play time with Y6 was 45 hours, about the same with the Judgment games iirc but the PS app doesn't show how much hours played. So half of that and probably in the zone of 20 hours to do main quests and side quests... not bad.

Looks awesome. Sort of feels like... RGG is giving Kiryu a fun send off. A ton of old and new things for Kiryu to engage in before as his story comes to a close to make way for Ichiban. Not really sure about the live action hostesses. I'd much rather Yuki come back and we train a gaggle of new girls to take down some asinine cabaret syndicate while getting blasted with As You Like on loop. That's the dream.
Eh? This game is basically made as the justification of Kiryu's return as he will be the second protagonist in the next mainline game. They already sent him off in Yakuza 6, in the worst way imaginable, now they are desperately trying to revert it back.

Kiryu might be costarring in yakuza 8 but ichiban is definitely the lead moving forward. But there are still plenty out there like myself no doubt that would love to have one last run with our boy Kiryu.

I still question the plotpoint where Kirya fake his death, then end up working as dog of the government, and they treat him lime shit. THEN everyone who he meet know who he is and his "family" still end up being threaten doesn't that destory the very stupid plot of 6? And now with both clan gone there is no one going to pick a fight with a former chairman

Yes, Like a Dragon 8 is still coming, after this game. That's why they included the demo for it in this game.
He still appeared in Y7 though... There's a possibility that the new RGG staff still want to things with Kiryu.

Yakuza is also not fit though. Kiryu got out of the yakuza clan in the first game. Ichiban also got kicked out from the clan

Even at 50~75% of a proper RGG game length, factoring in all the side shit you can do, this will easily be a 30~ hour game.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Not that I feel uncomfortable with it exactly, but I really hope that stuff is all optional. My wife and I have been playing through these games together - and while she's not exactly a prude, we watched the video in the OP together and I got the impression from her that she was disappointed that it was included in what looks like an otherwise good entry in the series.
Also - what is even the point these days? All of those videos are going to be up on Youtube (or PornHub) within like two seconds of this game getting released. If you want to watch softcore porn, there is porn on the internet.
I wanted to get the physical Asia version, but with tax and shipping, it ends up at $90.
