I forgot that even came out. How much did it end up selling so far? And how does that compare to the first?

I think it was at the end of December. It ended up selling more than the original's first release (however, I believe the original sold a lot more because of an international version).

It's sold a million in Japan at least, but I knew from the getgo it wouldn't "Easily sell 2 million" as people claimed on here

KHII sold a million or so the first three days then about 5 copies afterwards. Game tends to do better in the U.S./Europe anyway (not that a million is bad in any region).

It's a little weird because Dragon Ball Z DS was always behind Slime Morimori DQ2 in the weekly charts.

I expect a sharp increase in Bleach DS sales over the next week or so... assuming Sega supply properly. At the least I expect it to have good legs.

:lol @ FF7: DC sales.

So, is there somewhere I can go to see the total hardware and software sales for January for Japan? That would be good to see versus last year.

DS Lost Magic 9,000

Only 9000 for lost magic... Oh well, at least it is already scheduled for a US release! Hopefully it'll do better here.

Stupid stupid Sega.

Here is hoping that Bleach at least has a few more weeks to get the numbers up. It is a really great game.

According to NCSX

Bleach DS
Please note that Sega's reproduction of NDS Bleach that was expected this week has been rescheduled to February 15-17, 2006. All backorders will ship once the game is restocked. Of course, if the production is finished any earlier, we'll update our customers accordingly and ship backorders with the quickness of Hermes.

Nintendo DS it's the new Famicon on japan. The system that appeals everyone and everyones enjoys.

If Nintendo can keep up the production, I expect a sales rate over 400K every month.

And it's just one year after release. Amazing profitable years to come.

P.S: WTF!? Famicon's Super Mario bros Still on the top 30!? :lol :lol :lol :lol

I'm betting Super Princess Peach sells better in the US than it did in JP.

Didn't that Disney Princesses game for GBA sell like gangbusters here?

The Kingdom of Gaming is back!

Revolution still isnt a guaranteed success at this point. The ds combined traditional controls with a new interface and was the successor to the already successful gameboy line. In contrast, the revmote is radically different and is coming after the second worst performing nintendo console ever.

We didn't know the final version of the revo controler, but if there's VC to download Super NES and N64 games I don't care, because I know the famous classic shell it's gona be there and it will work.

Also, the showed version of the controlar has classic controls: digital cursor and A,B.

you answered yourself there, add in great games and you have the reasons why the Rev has a good chance.
The GC's problems where
1) Too similar to the other consoles.
2) Offered nothing that other consoles had, except Nintendo games

The Rev has taken the DS route, and the DS shows that you don't need to be a powerhouse to be wanted, just different and have good games

Can someone just please explain to me the lack of success for Sonic Rush?

Sonic is now Old&Death.

Also, Sonic has never been a great succes in Japan. It was a great succes in the USA and Europe (thanks to agressive marketting campaings Sega did back then)

You know too, great games doesn't mean great sales. (check Brain Training series for this rule)

The "rules" says we use MC sales on this forum. Once we get that, no more should be posted.

Man, what a sweet, sweet game.

Its sold over 100,000 in the states...

I didnt buy it because after watching videos it reminded me of sonic advance 2. Bloated levels with pointless branching paths; sonic on autopilot for the most part; etc.

No that wasnt sonic. I really dont know what you could be talking about, as the only third party games that have done well on the platform are castlevania and sonic. Castlevania broke the 150,000 mark over the holidays.

Maybe you were thinking about kirby?

But they're a week behind MC which is why we use MC. Famitsu numbers are usually only posted for the monthly chart.

Yes I know but in the long term, i think it's better to use Famitsu numbers which much more exhaustive. Currently, MC is good for DS fanboys to make fun of PSP but I want to go beyond this.

One question, Square-Enix said they have sold 4M DQVIII in Japan? Or 4M counting Japan + US sales?

Man oh man, these sales are just insane. The original Brain Training went up by a cool 50% this week. Nintendo also have this nice little bombshell in the DSLite lined up in a few weeks time which will only add to the phemomenon. It looks like both Brain Training and Animal Crossing are gonna blaze past 2 million. In fact all bets are off right now, they could both very well end up hitting 3 million and beyond. Theres no sales curve to try and guess from, just gotta wait and see where it all ends up at.

Revolution still isnt a guaranteed success at this point. The ds combined traditional controls with a new interface and was the successor to the already successful gameboy line. In contrast, the revmote is radically different and is coming after the second worst performing nintendo console ever.

Well nothings guaranteed, but I tell you what, If Brain Training and Animal Crossing get to the 3 million mark that would make them comparable with Final Fantasy, Pokemon and Dragon Quest. So what happens if Revolution launches with Animal Crossing and Brain Training? No guaranteed success, but if they can marry that with some other new early successes theyd have a shot at smashing Sony in Japan within the first year. Its gonna be a very interesting war.

Monthly numbers are enough. Any Japanese sales topic is good for DS fanboys to make fun of the PSP, getting beyond that is impossible. A topic without fanboys is impossible.
