Congratulations to Kurosaki Ichigo for winning both rankings, by units and by points/percentages.

Oh ba-humbug! I did it again, bloody can't seem to read the difference between psp and ps3 when doing predictions....

I blame it on road confusing me!

Anyway here's some real contribution to the topic:

3DS BlazBlue2 2011/03/31 5550
PSP BlazBlue2 2011/03/31 24,310/ 30,056

17 3DS Pro baseball Spirits 2011 KONAMI 2011/04/14 12,071 / 15.268
148 PSP Pro baseball Spirits 2011 KONAMI 2011/04/14 74,888/ 182,593

Aka Based on past examples, unchained rexx 3ds actually ratio is actually fairly nice.

Also stien's gate has utterly amazing legs for the type of game it is

No, and I don't believe it's dated for 2011 is it?

In japan it is.... with how much it's been shown off recently(world hobby fair and such) I'd be a bit taken aback it if it wasn't the next major Nintendo game out in Japan

Tempted to just start importing these JP-only gems, especially the ones with no prayer of localization. Kind of sick of missing out.

anyone have some pre-order numbers for Monster Hunter HD?

So sad... Star Fox 64 3D, such a classic, and no one is embracing it on 3DS... I for one jumped onto it straight away.

It's strange because you'd expect that most the people who bought Zelda OoT 3D to also jump onto this one, but I guess I'm wrong...

Why do you want people to jump on an old remake?
Plus, Starfox was never populair in Japan.

This says otherwise...

[N64] Star Fox 64 (Nintendo) - 75.595 / 565.222 / 13,37% 27/04/97

3DS remake did about half of the first week for N64 version, but I doubt it'll have as much legs...

Didn't 2 of the old games sell like a million copies? Nintendo should have treated this franchise a little better. Metroid for example gets treated far better but i think star fox had the potential to be more popular and it would fill a niche that nintendo really doesn't cover.

Edit: So the one on the 64 sold half a million, but the one on the snes sold better i think.

MH comgnet preorders comparison about the same time left for each release as MHP3HD now (a month and 10 days):

PSP MHP2G - 2555pt
WII MHG Starter Pack - 70pt
WII MH3 (3 skus) - 446pt
PSP MH Diary - 88pt
PSP MHP3 - 3045pt
PS3 MHP3 HD - 100pt
Emphasis on being comgnet preorders.

If Star Fox 64 3D has the same legs of the DS entry, it will break the 100k quite easily. Considering it's one of the few valid games on the console, this might be reasonable.

There weren't trackers back then and we don't have info for the shipment so there is no way you know that.

Meanwhile, Bandai Namco is dreaming high with Tales of Xillia.

According to supposed promotion materials:

- Vesperia sold [PS3] 420k copies, [360] 210k;

- Graces [PS3] 345k, [WII] 220k;

- Pre-orders for Xillia are outpacing the previous two by a factor of 2x -- 80k as of 06/21.

- Final pre-orders for Vesperia were 140k; for Graces f, 150k;

- They expect Xillia's pre-orders to reach ~260k.

So what are we looking at? 500k before a cheaper release and 360 port?

And another semi-layton clone bombs... (well it did last week). I still wonder why Konami bothered with it, since they already tried with Zack and Umbra and it failed horribly too.

I wonder how Reloaded will do in Japan. I have a hunch it might sell better on Wii here than the other platforms (whereas I wouldn't be surprised if Reloaded on HD platforms outpaces the Wii version in western regions)

Probably looking more at the western market for it. It was planned for localization from the beginning, so maybe they did learn a lesson from Z&U.

Heh, their prediction in the fiscal year PRs wasn't that spicy (400k of a tales title shipped before March 31st 2012) so they had to do something.

Now we need a new crazy prediction from Namco for Tales so that they miss the target again and tradition continues.

First day reports from retailers talk for strong first day sales for Rhythm Heaven and expectations for strong legs in Summer.

There is scepticism for PSP Sengoku Basara performance. Expected performance for the other titles.

Thanks for that. So it wasn't as bad as I initially thought then, at least when compared with other entries in the series this gen.
For the record, out of all the Taiko's released this gen, the top 3 that sold the most in it's lifetime so far is:

1. Taiko DS1
2. Taiko DS2 (despite the slow start)
3. Taiko Wii 1

Also, lol @ people think IE Strikers would bomb. It's the new fad, people. And Japan just won a football championship.

Bad Professor Layton clone is bad. Also lack of advertising from what I've heard.

Maybe the problem is that they followed a couple months of pretty much nothing with two N64 remakes close to each other. Nintendo's software planning is just so bad at times.

Thoroughly deserves it - played three of the stages at Nintendo's event in London earlier this week and it was easily one of my favourite games on show.

Initial retailer shipment estimate was 150,000, right?

If I'm not mistaken, that's what OOT 3DS did as well. So I wouldn't say Starfox is doing that bad. It was never that big to start with.

Not too mention Star Fox has been dying(100k for the DS entry when the DS was extremely popular and selling boat loads) while Zelda remains fairly popular today.

Nintendo is upredictable with shipments but that's the number azalyn gave.
Of course, which is why Zelda ended up higher than the supposed initial shipment first week. Clearly Nintendo has the opportunity to churn out more stock than Third Parties without quite as much 'downtime' since it directly controls the flow of new copies rather than Third Parties that have to request new stock and wait.

I fully expect Minna no Rhythm Tengoku to easily pass 500,000 since Wii owners have been starved of a big casual hit for a while.

Starfox is an interesting one. I don't exactly recall azalyn's initial shipment estimate, but for some reason 60,000 keeps popping into my head. If so, then the first week start is not awful, by any means. Second week results will be intriguing - more of a Zelda hold, or a Tales plummet?

Rhythm Heaven Wii will sell a lot; I remember how well sold the DS entry some years ago... Its first day was good but the first week was huge (about 230k units), and it kept to sell for months with a strong performance during Christmas holidays (more than 180k units in two weeks!).. I'm expecting the Wii episode will have the same behaviour, even if with less copies... Anyway, million seller for sure.

Concerning Doctor Lautrec, it's not a proper Layton clone, but it resembles it too much visually, so video gamers thought it was another Konami clone (after Zack and the Umbras and Little Magicians, which actually sold very well).

Starfox is dead. Can't stop complaining about the necessity to develop new IPs.

Good thing that Nintendo itself did not waste time redeveloping it though.

But i thought MH3HD is going to be second million seller for PS3 in Japan. So hitting 500k will surely be disappointing in my view..
i think it should have been equal to MH3 Wii..
anyway it was just my expectations
