Well that settles that then. Inflationary pressures are affecting each of the "Big 3" console manufacturers the same way but it seems only one is passing on that cost to end consumers.
I prefer they act mature instead of being childish.Ms should have burned Sony like they did with the used games shenanigans.
Most powerful console and the cheaper price. Winning.
Ironically that's more than xbox in japan, one of the markets we should obviously be more upset about instead. What are you talking about? 66,000 next-gen consoles have been sold in India last year. It's a huge market!
Suspect its a joke but famitsu numbers is 301k for the series consoles in japan. 173k this year.Ironically that's more than xbox in japan, one of the markets we should obviously be more upset about instead.
It’s a sign of things to come. Everything is going to get even more expensive also Europe is geting off Russian gas, and china is going through a housing crisis inflation is going to spike. The US hasn’t been effected as much by it compared to other countries. it’s a preemptive move by Sony. Microsoft is going to capitalize on this, they are big enough to absorb that cost.Well that settles that then. Yes and many others they didnt even mention. You talking about redfall and starfield delay?
Maybe they just ride out the inflation train? I would of thought Sony would have done the same.all of these companies are posting record profits every quarter and still feel the need to increase prices on games, subs and now hardware...
It's nice that MS HW is going to keep their current prices, but for how long?
Yes it's a joke of the poor numbers there too but we should care about there instead. Also spot the Dark Mage playing up india in the India sales threads playing down the UK in UK sales threads and doing the opposite here now:Suspect its a joke but famitsu numbers is 301k for the series consoles in japan. 173 this year.
Xbox needs a better PR people
If this was reversed you will see this news all day
Yup. If Microsoft is sure they will not raise prices they should dunk on Sony through social media.Xbox needs a better PR people

Yeah, 2023 going to be pretty full for Xbox exclusives.Yes and many others they didnt even mention.
The only one doing mental gymnastics is you, infact you seem to be talking out your ass based on the info in the post below, which you quietly ignored..It's still increasing over their price before... to the consumer.
Ok, mental gymnastics.
Actually doing my own research into the matter, the price increase in India was so massive you can somehow pick up a Series S for cheaper then the original price.

Xbox Series X pricing is the same (despite being out of stock):

Truly Microsoft is the worst.
because microsoft arent scumbags.
3rd in this time? Losing your edge. For the players.
Maybe they just ride out the inflation train? I would of thought Sony would have done the same.
Of course they aren't. They bring in enough quarterly profit and revenue and Xbox as a division is such a small part of their overall income, that a few more dollars to eat off the consoles literally doesn't matter to them.
But very few other companies have a market cap of over $2 trillion dollars. Very few have high revenue-generating divisions like Windows, Azure and Office. This is an example of Microsoft leveraging the strengths of their other divisions to offset losses on the gaming side, just putting that out there.
Ultimately tho, I guess it's a good thing they won't be increasing the price. At the end of the day, that will help with selling more Series S and X units and that's also worth putting out there.

I don't think I would see 99% of these people wasting their breath in every other consumer increase subreddits.
Most powerful console and the cheaper price. Winning.
Microsoft are scumbags because they choose not to do the same price hike as Sony?because microsoft arent scumbags.
I mean Microsoft is losing billions with Gamepass and xCloud. They don't care losing a couple of dollars more
People bought XSX for the exclusives? They aren't dropping the price... just the number of exclusives
you have proof to this outside of head of Xbox saying they aint publicly
If they won't release their specific numbers, it means they're losing money.
I’ve not really gave a shit either way about Jim Ryan but if there’s one thing his reign will be remembered for it’s not giving a single fuck about the public perception of Sony PlayStation nickle and diming and shaking us down unashamedly for every single last penny.Hardware rarely goes up since the production prices are going down along the way so the profit margin gets larger unless they drop the price (more often) or release a new model. The Sony strategy is a bit weird because it's a PR error from my point the view, the same kind that put Xbox One down when they said they won't allow games to be shared. We'll see.
Me tonight
Nah, it won't. Playstation is too big to fail. Nintendo did way worse more than once and still have a good fanbase, as Sony and now Microsoft. Microsoft had to win big time on this generation or they were "doomed", Gamepass is their key to success. But Playstation will have to score big games soon because between paying 40-50$ a year for all the games on Xbox and paying 70USD for one game on Playstation may work for the biggest fans but for the common gamer, not sure it will do.I’ve not really gave a shit either way about Jim Ryan but if there’s one thing his reign will be remembered for it’s not giving a single fuck about the public perception of Sony PlayStation nickle and diming and shaking us down unashamedly for every single last penny.
I just hope this short-termism doesn’t effect the long term legacy and future of PlayStation.
