Based on how most companies do it, I assume it's a sign in from somewhere (doesn't necessarily have to be on the console).

MAU is a useless metric when Xbox talks about it, so it's hypocritical to pretend it matters when PlayStation talks about it. Just Saiyan
It is useless when there's no comparison to be made and twisting it to mean something else. As long as MAU is just limited to describe the increase in users period. No need to extrapolate stuff like sales, subscription number etc when just MAU by itself is vague information.

Just take it for what it is. A lot of people accessed playstation. Much more than ever before and that's it. There needs to be more information than MAU to see the totality.

What happened to Sony reporting PS sub count? Oh wait, they publicly said they wont report sub count anymore last August right before sub plan prices increased. So now it's all about MAU.

Thats cause they remained stagnant for years, thats why GP is the same. They're not reporting flat numbers.
