The UK prices are a bit strange. £350 for a PS5 seems ridiculously cheap, even if its for a DE. Usually we pay the US price but in pounds in recent years.
Yup, these are MSRP, retailers usually fuck these prices.

That 800gig ssd on the digital is gonna fill up quick.....and there may be even less with the os
People really gotta think about that and any external drive or internal slot drive they use may not be 100% compatible or comparable with the ps5 ssd drive speeds so games may have to run at a normal ssd speed
I can see Sony reconsidering PS Vita successor, something that can hit current gen consoles requirements and play all the PS4 log as close as OG PS4.
I think it's doable with all the new AMD tech around.
Why wouldn't they? With the digital console, people will be buying games straight on PS Store and Sony won't have any production costs for physical versions.A hundred bucks of difference between the two models? They're really forcing people to go digital if that's the case.
Yes doable but the battery will last 1 hour.
Not gonna happen

The stand probably isn't necessary. The PS2 didn't come with a stand, so no reason to include one with the PS5. There's no reason they'd make a system built to be vertical, that can't stand that way on its own. That tiny stand is for added stability, not minimal stability. I never bought a PS2 stand because it wasn't needed, and looked ugly. The stand is probably needed more to go horizontal. The stand being sold separately made this look fake.
The console is designed to stand up. The stand will be included.
$100 extra for 4K bluray and BC.$100 extra for a disc reader? Seems a bit much no?
This is fake because of the sale of a separate "vertical stand".
I'm sure that stand will come default in every box as that's the only way the machine can put placed on flat surface, whether vertically or horizontally.
Just because all orientations require a stand that does not mean it's the same stand for both orientation. Could also be that the horizontal stand is included and the vertical stand sold separately...To be fair, you may get one with the console. But you may want to buy a spare one.
A disc reader that gives you BC with your physical games.....depending on the BC it might be a bargain...$100 extra for a disc reader? Seems a bit much no?
Because they are a Japanese company?I understand they're a Japanese company. However, Japan is mobile gaming/Nintendo territory. Why launch in Japan first?
Digital foundry are adamant the blu ray drive will only add about $25 onto the price. They reckon it will be $50 more.
Will the pulse 3d headset do anything current headsets on the market won't such as a pair of astros?
.......it's not going to fill up any faster than the disk version. That 800gig ssd on the digital is gonna fill up quick.....and there may be even less with the os

It's not because an optical drive cost that much but because they can sponsor a higher reduction in price for someone that buys all games in the store.Wait. £100 difference for a Blu Ray drive? Get fucked if true.
Yeah I've astro a50's or 40's not sure which. They're wireless...It's more than likely will be 2.0 channel with no sound gimmicks, as 5.1/7.1 channel signals ruin the accurate HRTF true 3D audio signal. Above that, the old Pulse headset had a rumble feature back in PS3 that most people liked, so Pulse 3D might build upon that.
I have Astro A40 with the mixer, sound quality is good bad bass is shit to be honest. Heard the A50 has better bass.
If something critical would be there is Sony's LDAC signal for hi-res audio, top of the line format, giving you up to 96kHz frequency and 990kbps compared to 328kbps on common bluetooth signal.
Sony Corporation - LDAC™ developer site | Uncompromising wireless listening technology from Sony. LDAC provides music experiences with supreme sound quality.
Developers site of LDAC which is a state of the art audio technology that allows you to enjoy music in Hi-Res sound quality. It can transmit approximately three times the amount of data than can be done with conventional Bluetooth transmissions.www.sony.net
Could be the cheapest headset to support it. Given it's a Sony tech and the Tempest 3D Audio should provide exceptional audio quality, it makes sense.
I'll throw my Astros in the closet for those Pulse 3D cans.
yup, i got a PS4 at launch and it hardly got used the first year or so. i'm definitely gonna hold off for the Slim/Pro revisions. by then it should have gathered steam.Expensive considering the awful line up of games sony always has gotta wait a good 2 years for Sony too actually release there good games
Yeah I've astro a50's or 40's not sure which. They're wireless...
But I don't want to pay that price tag again for new astros if the pulse are just as good for a cheaper price.
Yeah, doesn't make sense at all.$100 extra for a disc reader? Seems a bit much no?
Read my post a few posts above so you can better understand.Yeah, doesn't make sense at all.
Volume purchase cost for a 4k blue ray drive BOM is around $20.
$100 extra for 4K bluray and BC.
That's not the reason why lolStill way to much. Who would pay that?
The stand being sold separately made this look fake.

We've mentioned this throughout this thread numerous times and people are still on the fence.- The price tags are in the realm of what I expect: 500 and 400.
- Jim Ryan recently mentioned specifically that the staggered release of the PS4 was a mistake and said the PS5 will have a worldwide release. So the Japan first is what makes me doubt the most about this source.
- Selling the stand separately would be a dick move by Sony. It's to be expected it will come with the console along with at least one controller. If real, those prices have to be for extra/spare parts.
- Stop crunching numbers over how much a 4K Blu-ray disc drive costs. The Digital Edition could be 100€ cheaper because Sony gets a bigger cut from every digital purchase.
Yesterday I was looking at Sony's latest fiscal year data and 89.5% of the software revenue they get comes from selling digital games and DLC. That's 9.29 billion dollars from the 10.38 billion total in 2019. It's THAT big of a difference.
To put it in perspective, the total revenue of Sony's gaming division in 2019 was 18.2 billion dollars (including software, hardware and services). Digital software sales represent half of that revenue. Of course Playstation wants to incentivize people to buy the Digital Edition PS5.
If the discless PS5 system really is $399, then Lockheart is dead already . Wow.
ps3 stands were separate.
$100 extra for 4K bluray and BC.
