Shameless bump of this awesome thread.

Anyway so close to 4.5GHz on my i7-930. I've decided to get a new mobo+CPU so I thought why not see how far I can push my current setup. Right now at settings are

vcore - 1.5V
BLCK - 212Mhz
Multi - 21x
QPI - 1.5
IOH - 1.3v
ICH - 1.3v
CPU/IOH clock skew - 300ps
Spread spectrum - 1000mV

And can't quite get it running stable.. I may just go crazy and bump all voltage up by like .1 and setup clock skews to 1000ps and hope to get 4.6 or 4.7

Take care, you are entering unsafe territory.

BTW, I did some researching, and it seems the EVGA X79 boards are all really bad. Like, worse than the Gigabyte ones :p

I think we need to leave P scores behind. I think I'd like to redo this thread with X scores as well as max settings Heaven runs. 720p performance just really doesn't mean much anymore.

Ugh I knew there had to be reason they were 50% off.

EDIT: order the full block for the M5E. The 3770K will do me just fine

Ran the bench again with the new 13.1 drivers and a higher clock on my GPU, got a good jump up!

So not to throw everyone off, but I think I'd like to completely change the data in the OP.

I think the P scores are nearing obsolescence. What I'd like to do is redo the OP with X scores or Heaven maxed scores. Let me know what you guys think.

Completely agree and it would be a nice house cleaning opportunity. I still haven't got 3Dmark to work on windows 8 so my vote is heaven. It runs but crashes after the bench and doesn't upload results.

Haven't bothered pushing it all yet, will overclock tomorrow or if there is a switch to Heaven.

Heaven 3.0 is probably the best bet then.

Despite not having the kind of machines the tops in here do for benching, most places I go to for overclocking use heaven for maxing out ocs and testing gpus. The scores would be more accurate and in some cases would sort out things since heaven will stress newer cards better.

Same system. Just comparing 2 video cards. Rather impressed by how well the 660ti keeps up with the 670, considering the price difference. 670 doesn't seem to be worth the price of admission on my rig. Might return it. I haven't even overclocked the 660ti yet and its only ~700 off the best speeds I could get off the Windforce on my system. In actual games, the only difference I see is dropping the AA from 8x to 4x or 4x to 2x (depending on the game), while leaving everything else the same to get matching or better framerates.

I have a 670 Windforce. Just give it MORE POWER.
Also those benches are just dumb marks where when you add more CPU and HT the numbers go up. Check some of the FPS comparisons. The difference between a slightly OC'd 670 and my 10.6k score is just like 5% in real FPS.

Same thing to see the 660Ti be within like 10% of the 670. Solid card and the 670 unless it's like $330 isn't worth the price of admission with 7950 price cuts.

Hmmmmm interesting. I've had my i7 940 clocked at 3.6 ghz for a while now, should I push it closer to 4?

Actually, should I update or just go for new thread?

I'm using that. :p

*edit*

What I'm thinking about doing is doing some gdocs spread sheets. These spread sheets would be able to be altered by a group of people. If you're interested in having access to that to help update the spreadsheet as we get new submissions, PM me.

For the 3DMark ladder, should we have it for extreme preset or standard?

I tried extreme, its really extreme. I think standard to keep the mid tier and single GPU setups in the hunt.

Also its alive! But still so much work to do for cable management and such. And I can't fit my HDD in there anymore..... so going to have to migrate to dual SSD setup

Apparently I didn't have the correct setting. After correcting them and re-running the tests, my score went WAY UP!. So that puts me in first place for single AMD Card no?

Edit 2:
With Virtu MVP enabled

Wow. Does this program really boost FPS performances?

With the ITX boards that are out, that would be quite unfair.

I'm actually leaning towards not having as many categories in general. I think splitting multi and single GPU ladders is good, and then there will be one for Heaven, one for 3DMark. Other than that, it is just too much of a PITA to manage and update.
