HDTecnologia recently shared AMD’s official data regarding the upcoming RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards set to launch on September 6th. While some of this information may have been previously disclosed during AMD’s unveiling event, this new leak provides a more extensive list of game titles and includes synthetic benchmarks, which were notably absent from the initial presentation.

In summary, without ray tracing, the Radeon RX 7800 XT outperforms the GeForce RTX 4070 by almost 7% on average, while with ray tracing enabled, it maintains a slight 0.5% lead. Conversely, the RX 7700 XT exhibits 16% higher performance over the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. However, the presence of ray tracing can tip the scales slightly in NVIDIA’s favor, resulting in an 8.5% lead of AMD GPU.

  • Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB vs. RTX 4070 12GB
    • RASTER: +6.9%
    • RT: -11.6%
    • AVG: +0.5%
  • Radeon RX 7700 XT 12G vs. RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
    • RASTER: +15.9%
    • RT: -5.4%

That RT summary at the bottom is skewed as it take several cyberpunk settings which favour NV.

If we take out all c2077 apart from ultra, among the games on the screenshot 4070 is just 5% better among this few games.

7800xt looks like it will be a really good card. Better raster, similar RT, more vram and cheaper than 4070 which is not bad value already.

If 7700xt drops by 50usd which it probably will not long from now it will be a fantastic value as well. Right now no point with not going for 7800xt based on this data.

For 4070 to compete in value it would have to drop by 100$. They wont cause NV sells better anyways but should make them decrease by at least 50. Will still be worse value but will allow them to continue to sell.

Is RT still crap? AMD are ok at shadows, which is trivial, but the reflections kill performance. Hopefully this has caught up, eagerly waiting for the reviews.

FSR 3 in key titles should help as well. It's already been announced to be coming to Cyberpunk, Avatar, Forspoken, Space Marine 2, and some others.

So it's (slightly) faster at $100 cheaper.

Sounds like a win for AMD to me.
It does look like the card the market needed and waited for. 7700xt might soon be one as well if they drop the price by 50usd.

Fingers crossed for fsr3 to be good as well.
