They needed to enable SBS 3D videos for it to work.
And the one thing I need in VR is more color on both sides of the camera. Right now it's like 90% white women and 95% white men. Though there is a Jynx Maze scene that just came out on Friday that I haven't watched yet.

I've tried it. It's actually pretty interesting. No, nothing will ever replace real sex, but VR porn could sure as hell replace 2D porn. If it's done right there is a sense of presence that watching videos doesn't give you. The only thing is that anything to do with VR is a bigger physical and time commitment than just watching something on a screen. And if you want anything like acceptable quality VR videos are huge. I've got a slow connection and a small SSD so it's a barrier.

Back when i had an oculus dk2 the videos were 180 so if you turned around it would just be black emptiness. Friends thought it was amazing when i showed them vr porn. Maybe the videos are 360 now. Most of VR porn is crap. They shoot too close, making the subjects out of focus. A lot of the models have piercings or tattoos, which are fine if you are into that, but I am not. I did see one video though that matched my interests and made me see the potential, but the downside is there was still a screen door effect. I hope the technology stays around for 4k or 8k to see it's true potential.

Well there are two different types of VR porn available:
- wrap-around, which is nothing more than a video placed in a 180 curve to give a cheap illusion of 3D because you can move your head. Ultimately this fails because it just feels like you're looking at a huge theatre screen. Think of it as looking at a big Google Maps screen. And the ladies are HUGE, which makes the entire ordeal awkward more than anything
- actual VR with depth perception. This is the better option by far. Two separate images get projected on both eyes, giving the sense of depth. You cannt move or tilt, it's a stuck video. But you see the girl [or guy] in 3D. It needs tweaks and a lot of the videos are optimized poorly giving a slightly skewed image. Especially when the actor comes within a certain range the image just goes to shit because it doesn't compensate for depth changes. But when you find a video that has been set up properly, it's a pretty overwhelming experience.
All in all it's a new genre and it may take a bit before the big companies fully understand and apply the tech, but the potential is definately there. Also, Sony needs to get on that support asap, the workaround is such a hassle that currently it's just not worth it.

Motion Photogrammetry could find its way into the VR porn industry. 3D scan your actors, place the models/animation in a virtual set and you've got real-time VR porn with full camera and perspective control.
I tried it for a few hours (because I wasn't finding anything I enjoyed) and came to the conclusion that I don't want to see other men's bodies with giants.

The VR 360 vids I've tried have all been varying degrees of lame due to quality, limited FoV, no headtracking, giants, etc. Also, I don't look like a random white dude.
The VRGirlz demo, on the other hand, was pretty cray. It's still kinda weird cause it's basically like a bunch of naked wax sculptures, but it's actually 3D and the quality was photorealististic.
What we really need is the PC version of Skyrim with full roomscale support (none of that VorpX garbage). That's the future right there.

Never tried other movies but i think they should work fine especially if there is a highly tweakable VR player( i think Virtual Desktop on steam is good but it's not free.... )
I tried a few game demos on steam and they worked but there is a major limitation that only rotation is available atm = you can't lean forward/back/side with PSVR cause you need camera and software to track LED's on headset. I think there is an experimental tracking solution in TrinusVR but i never tried it.

Due to shitty 100+ year censorship laws. Why they haven't changed it or why there hasn't been any protests, I have no idea.
Although, if there was a silver lining in the censorship of genitals (not anus funnily enough) is that the directors focus more on the girls and have to be more creative in achieving the level of eroticism required to sell the dvds / blu rays.
