The official Zen 3 with Ryzen 5000 reveal thread

Does the price seem high to anybody else? The 3600 is what? $200? $100 difference in what should be the same class seems odd. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'd like to see 1440p benchmarks and not just 1080p.
1080p is better for CPU comparisons. 1440p/2160p are where the gaps start to close because it's GPU dependent. Like if you look at a 3600 vs 3700x it can be like a couple frames apart at 4K. Showing 4K benchmarks would generally show small enough upgrades that it wouldn't be exciting.

There will be 5600 without X for sure but yeah, they raised the prices...

Could have just been the stream but that Borderlands 3 performance was actually not great. Some obvious stutter in there.

No PS5 SSD to make it smooth...

Priced high than I expected. Still great for the price but even the 5600x is more than I expected.

It's still way too expensive if you want to buy an 8 core 16 thread CPU to match the next gen consoles.

$450 on a CPU alone is just nuts. AMD used to be far more affordable back in the day.

Higher prices was expected. They've given financial guidance for >50% gross margins, and they need to increase prices given their insane ~200x PE valuation when Intel trades at <10. They are saving the "value SKUs" (5600/5700X) for later.

Think i'm just going to stay with the 3900x. I game at 4K anyway so I don't think the gains will be that much and I rather wait for Zen 4.

Wow, Zen 3 is looking really good. Great IPC improvements and higher boost clocks. Great power efficiency as well.

Looking forward to the launch.

Does it have ddr5 RAM support? I don't know what are my bebefits in gaming coming from a 9900k at 5ghz on all cores apart from PCI-E 4. I I think of this I gotta upgrade Motherboard, CPU, M. 2 SSD, and I have to buy an RTX 3080,it is too much

Seems like slower than RTX3080 ? Checked Techpowerup for 4k benchmark of Gears 5 and Borderland 3 with the allegedly slowest 3080 (Zotac Trinity) :pie_thinking: Price will be deciding factor I guess

Ill likely upgrade from my 2600x to a 5600x but I will wait for a sale.
I'm on the non X 2600 and thought about upgrading, but I can't fathom spending $300 for the same 6 cores. Was looking at the 5800, but not at $450. Pricing is a little out of alignment, imo. Guess I'll stick with my original plan of waiting until the socket change and DDR5.

Also don't forget they promise a FPS uplift in games because of ZEN3 so you have to add those to the 3080 too as they will also get a uplift with those CPUs. So it seems the GPU stacks in somewhere between the 3070 and 3080 as expected. I wonder how RTX performance will be though and if they have any kind of DLSS competitor.

It's between a 3070 and 3080, from what they've shown. This explains why Nvidia canceled the 3070 Ti(full GA104) and went with 3070 16GB instead.

The GPU they showed off is not quite as powerful as the 2080ti.

It all depends on which GPU AMD was showing. But the one they showed, whichever it is, is definitely s step down from the 3080.

Pretty curious to see raytracing performance. Keeping my expectations low.

I am with you. I expected about $50 lower on each of those. WIth sales and such they will be good but I am not spending $300 on the 5600X. I might even go for the non X if it ever happens.
