There is alot of different technologies/aspect in play here on the platform:
- using the blockchain as a way to track usage/royalty (check media chain and Spotify)
- using digital scarcity as a way to create a reseller market (which unregulated leads to bad outcomes)
- using ai to automate voice acting roles. (see Adobe)
- the energy cost of the blockchain
#2 is a shitstorm that I don't think ever is going to be solved barring major regulatory changes which will drive the 1% out.
#1 is an issue in music, less so in games at the moment but if games becomes democratised in terms of making as music, it might be an issue. There might be value here.
#3, i am still conflicted on but it does feel like him pulling up the ladder on other voice actors.
#4 all of these companies should get a huge amount of shit for the energy usage especially if they are still promising to move to proof to stake based model.
