Removing her from the couch at that time would have been too painful, because her body was grafted to the fabric after years of staying put. Her skin had become one with the sofa and had to be surgically removed.

How did she, you know...go?

This makes no sense.

Well, your skin keeps "growing" constantly, if you're in constant contact with something porous (like fabric) it will grow through the fabric.

This is also a problem with coma patients, etc.

Probably what happened is she got some wicked pressure sores down to her bone and the 600 pounds prevented them from lifting her off the couch. I'm guessing some of the ooze kept her somewhat attached/stuck to her skin and like they said, it would have been painful to detach her. Kinda like when you break open your skin on your foot and leave your sock on and it's a lil stuck to the skin.
