PS4 it is.
Fuck off Microsoft.
Because we know what sonys system specifically is.
PS4 it is.
Fuck off Microsoft.
Jaffe's already coming up with strategies:
"The Xbox One also lets users give disc-based titles to friends by transferring the game's license, as long as the person has been on the user's Xbox Live friends list for at least 30 days; each game can only be given in this fashion once"
The "family" statement is very carefully worded. I bet it means that 10 consoles can access one account, but won't be able to play a shared game at the same time.
PS2 era of Sony seems to be back.
The constant social media talk from Sony people has to be a good sign, right?
Wrong. The way it is now is better for consumers no doubt, but eventually you know everyone will be headed there. It sucks but its unavoidable.
There is nothing quite as exhilarating as watching Microsoft ruin a successful business. It's a fucking art form.
LISTEN, PEOPLE, TO THIS!
Also, what if Live servers are down? Your internet doesn't matter a shit if the problem is at MS's end!
This pretty much reads like they'll block the resale of the game until sales have dried up and then they'll allow it.
If that's the case, I wonder what the publishers are thinking, 2-3 months, or more like blocking Fifa 14 resale until Fifa 15 is out, hoping you'd then use that money towards the next one.
Maybe I'm just being cynical.
If these idiots will really let you game share with 10 people then they are...well...idiots.
I can see groups of 10 forming now. You can then get all new release games for $6 each.
I'm not sure what the point of this post is.
The used games thing and the online DRM thing are two separate issues.
1) Add 10 friends to a shared account
2) Each friend pays $6 for a new game
3) Share as needed
????
4) Profit?
I'm not buying this console though. Maybe in a few years.
Need further clarification on this:
Does this reset for the new license holder you give your disc away to so that they can transfer to someone else?
I really don't get that part either. Developers would fuckin revolt if that is the case. They would slash sales of a title potentially by 10 fold! What is the catch? Can anybody explain?
The problem here is that EA and MS are doing the DRM thing. I'm finding it pretty hard to believe that EA would release a game on Xbox One that has DRM and release it on PS4 without DRM.
Yup - We had a whole thread confirming the PS4 can be played totally offline and full of people playing ignorant.
I thought it was up to 10 people (accounts) but on the same Xbox? Just being able to give the game to 10 people is pretty sweet.
If you dont want the Kinect sensor on while playing games or enjoying your entertainment, you can pause Kinect. To turn off your Xbox One, just say Xbox Off. When the system is off, its only listening for the single voice command
Why is everyone ignoring the family member thing? Who gives a fuck that you can't lend games when you can let "family members" winkwink, play it? Am I missing something?
Yes, it will say whether or not an activation code is required to play. Just like online passes.
The family stuff is very clear. Again:
* Up to 10 "members of your family".
* Play from any Xbox One.
* Any ONE of your family members can be playing from your shared library AT A GIVEN TIME.
This IS as bad as people have been saying it would be.
Jaffe loves it too. All publishers and developers are actually celebrating right now. Having champagne parties. MS has saved the industry.

People sell used games so they can buy more new ones. On PC the games are cheaper in the first instance. Case in point, Tomb Raider (probably the last new PC game I bought) was £21 on launch from Green Man Gaming. £35-£40 on console. With used sales choked, it'd be even more expensive on XBone.
It will also charm first day sales, as I guess more people will wait for impressions. It's a hell of a risk to spend £40 on some average game and not be able to get any of that money back.
It's crazy but when you think about the XB1 will be the first console where you cannot years from now, purchase a used set with a lot of games on eBay. Unless the original profile is on the system, which would be dumb from a security point of view.
They need to bite at some point and give details on their system and DRM. Which i don't think is going to be very much different to Xbox.
MS was the new top dog with 360 I'm wondering wtf they are doing
Can someone clarify? I find it confusing. =/Sorry for being an idot.
Wow, if Sony does this shit as well, Wii U might have the most amazing comeback in the history of gaming.
