This is shipped.Considering many people on this forum were betting on PS5 outselling Xbox Series X/S by 3-to-1 or even 4-to-1, this doesn't seem so bad. This about par course for every generation that these two brands have competed against each other, the only anomaly being the 8th console generation where Xbox 360 punched above its weight.

That 3-1/4-1 expectation is over the course of the generation. 8.22M from what I can tell. How much did Nintendo ship?
“The business is not how many consoles you sell." - Phil Spencer
So you are suggesting that Xbox selling 3.2M is because they didn't have more consoles to sell?Looks like those armchair experts who claimed PS5 was supply-constrained in 2022 but Xbox was freely available have just been proved wrong.
Not quite. I think this is worse . Xbox needs to fire some people and turn things around before it is too late. That's a big ass fucking yikes from me dawg
But I imagine the difference was always this big in every generation except for the 360/PS3 gen no?
He didn't actually say that did he?
That's a solid number against sonys gargantuan sales and god of war.
No where near as bad as some were projecting.

So that's the sword you wanna throw yourself on?
Shh, don't give them ideas. I'm so happy they release everything on PC now also. There were times when there wasn't like this.Ouch. Still, lots of PC gamers have access to everything day 1 and don't have to buy a system for it.
Ok... well MS made a declaration that they have heard gamers and supply would be sorted. So lets see what happens for the rest of the year.I'm not throwing myself on any sword! But it's interesting to see that Sony actually shipped twice as many PS5 during the famously 'supply constrained' year - it's a rather different narrative than many Gaffers were expecting, Sony were better supplied than Microsoft.
For all we know BOTH Microsoft and Sony could have sold significantly more if supply hadn't been challenging.
Makes me wonder what those numbers would look like if they only had the Series X.
This is a really good thought. Imagine if it's 50-50. You'd have 7.1 million PS5s vs. 1.6 million Xbox Series Xs. That's bananas!!!
He sure did, but Xbox business model isn't the same as Sony's or Nintendo's. His business also feeds their PC platform. He didn't actually say that did he?
You expected worse in Q4? Black Friday & Christmas with the cheapest console on the market?Honestly I expected worse.
