The thread's ending and the season's over. So time for me to ask PonyGAF that after finale question again, how's has your pony rankings changed if at all?

For me, nothing's changed much. I still favor everybody's 4th Wall Breaking Party Planning Pink Earth Pony and that's never changing!

Everybody else is #2. Except for RD & AJ they're #3.

And I looked back at some old posts too and we clowned in this thread. Good times were had!

As for my rankings, honestly, no changes, AJ is #1. Though SS Twilight Sparkle is gaining. ;P

Big jump for AJ, who had some excellent moments this season. Pinkie also moved up one for having some fantastic focus episodes this season, where I have not enjoyed her focus episodes in the past. Twilight takes a dive though from #3 -#6. She's just not that interesting a character anymore. I miss frantic Twilight. We got a few adorkable moments this season, but overall, she's just been boring.

Pinkie really took a tumble, mostly I think from the character starting to grow stale. Next season needs some changes for her. AJ, I'm just not a fan of. Rainbow rises due to some strong episodes, and the rest are more or less set in my overall rankings all series long.

AJ's gaining momentum. Twi is plummeting.

All ponies are unique, and thus all ponies are the best at being themselves. Therefore, all ponies are best pony.

Also dragons, pets, etc.

Rarity has shot up my list a lot, I think. She's just been plain fun to watch all season. I think it goes something like this:

1. Twilight Sparkle
2. Princess Luna
3. Rarity
4. Fluttershy
5. Applejack
6. Spike
7. The Cutie Mark Crusaders
8. Pinkie Pie
9. Rainbow Dash
10. Princess Cadance
11. Princess Celestia

And honestly, the biggest reason Celestia has taken a tumble like that is that she was barely in this season. Also Pinkie, despite having one of the best episodes this season in Pinkie Pride, just seems like she grown stagnant. I'd like to see something new with her soon. Same with Rainbow Dash. Of course, despite having them ranked like this, the difference between top and bottom is pretty small. I like them all still.

And yeah, Twilight still holds the number one spot for me. She might have slipped a bit before the finale... and then the Tirek fight happened. That was just nuts, but very fun to watch. "Oh, Twilight is angry now! She's going to- WHOA!!! She's doing WHAT?!" As long as she keeps being adorkable and then pulling out all the stops for when things get serious, she's going to be quite hard to unseat from my top spot.

I think I'll take this thread ending as an opportunity to exit the community for a bit. I'll probably be back when the new season starts.

It was fun, but I've been growing distant recently.

For an animation team that usually nails it on little details, I cannot believe that they couldn't be bothered to animate her without her Princess regalia while she's sleeping. I know the comics have shown her without it a few times, but I don't think the show has ever shown it. Even in the flashback before Discord was defeated. Her and Luna should not have been Princesses at that point.*

*Princesses as in the title and crowns. Till proven otherwise, I assume these two have always been Alicorns.

I knew there was something weird about that scene, but I couldn't put my finger on it the first time around. Seems odd that they'd deliberately avoid showing Celestia without her bling (given that it's all Flash animated, I imagine it'd only be a matter of shutting off a few layers), so I guess we can chalk it up to either oversight, or some weird Hasbro mandate.
