PlayStation 4 sells 360.000 units in Spain (7:1 Ps4:XBO)

So 360.00 until October, it was 130.000 in December, 180.000 in January. Meaning they sold the first 180.000 in two months, then another 180.000 in the next eight months. That's bad. Seems like it's just getting worse by the month.

Xbox One was at 36.000 after two months and is now at 51.000. That's just abysmal. 15k units in eight months, that's worse than Japan which is at about 1k per week.

But it's bad for either one. Spain (in summer) just is no video game country. Weather is too good.
eh you might want to rethink that. Most console sales are during the Christmas time, or just after. That's without even taking into account launch sales.

And yet it did. Last gen the difference was around 2 to 1 iirc. What's up with everyone trying to downplay this?

Last gen was an aberration for MS. They launched earlier, had more games on offer and were the cheaper of the two consoles.

They had none of that this generation, we're simply seeing a return to the status quo that existed before last gen. It's hard to be surprised or shocked by that.

Yeah that seems to be in line with continental europe.
Should stabilize between 5:1-6:1 if you consider the UK as europe.
MS dropped the ball in europe and have to pay for it now.

That 7:1 doesn't look mean much when you look at the actual sales. It just means xbox one is not popular there at all.

7:1 is pretty big but it's not like the ratio is good anywhere on mainland europe and it's probably even worse in tier 2 countries. The loss of market share seems even bigger than in the US.

Nothing weird, spaniards call the country "sonlyland" jokingly because everyone knows how established is the brand in the nation. The mainstream even uses the term "la play" as term for "the console" in general.

Not the least bit surprising. Even last gen when the Xbox 360 was pumping out more games and had better third part games, the PS3 won easily... Not that the PS4 has the advantage in all areas, of course is going to be a wash.

I dont think its downplay really, I just think its most people simply dont know/realize like 53 million of the 360 sales came from usa and uk leaving very few to the remaining countries of the world.

So a more expensive lower performing machine with a extremely bad press lead up to launch sold worse then a cheaper more powerful machine with a golden press lead up.

I'm shocked.

In a year?

I know the populations can be drastically different, but it always amazes me how consoles can sale in ONE month in the US what they sale in an entire year in other countries.

Maybe, just maybe, it helps that the United States is X times bigger and has an X times larger population than Spain's.

They went from ~2:1 to ~7:1.
7:1 is a worse ratio then ps3 to 360 in japan last gen (~6:1).
But whatever, i bet Ms predicted the same ratio/# of sales 2 years ago, cause as we all know "Spain is Sonyland", so it doesn't matter if the ratio is 3:1 or 1:47 for Ms.

Who cares about how well PS4 is doing in one city? What about the rest of the country? And when do we get the sales figures of Europe? This will mean more then.

It's crazy to think Microsoft will ever catch Sony in worldwide sales.

I wouldnt be surprised if the next xbox was released in only the UK and US just to save embarrassment.

7:1 is god tier.

Not really surprised. I asked in a store back in June (just for the sake of curiosity) and they told me they had a ton of standalone PS4 preorders and perhaps they'd be able to sell them in the store around October. They only had some obscure bundles left in the store at that moment.

In the other hand, there were plenty of both standalone and bundled Xbox Ones.

Ratio is killer but sales aren't astronomical. Sure if it remains that way for the next 5 years, ouch but Xbox isn't down by 50 million just yet.

Cmon, surely no-one thinks MS can catch up.......surely?

Really. I dont see why people are so obsessed with these numbers when the majority know how it is going to turn out.

I still have to meet someone with a XBOX console from previous generations, here.
Those numbers are quite big, gaming has never been a big deal on Spain neither when economy was in a bubble train.

That might be for the best for MS to do so seriously. That is if they decide to give it another go. If GAF is anything to go by, they may have worn out their welcome in the eyes of the core gamer.

Spain is a country. It's the third largest country in Europe.
I went to school with the fifth musketeer, and geography was my specialty. Don't try this nonsense with me.

I'll take note of your opinion for the future for the sake of politeness, but it's just that, an opinion.
