environments look lush and dense as hell, I'm fairely excited now. character models could use more work but its not a deal breaker for me. bring on the balls to the walls storyline and good ole jrpg gameplay and im good

Looks great, but I'd like so more focus on the characters and the story now please. We know the game is beautiful and the world vast.

Are you saying the option to watch it in 1080p60 or 720p60 is not there or that watching it in those options doesn't matter because the gameplay in the vid is less than 60fps? Because I haven't watched this trailer in Chrome yet.

The 60 option is there, but only the logo fade ins actually display at 60 fps, the actual gameplay is 30. Youtube just identifies that the video hits 60 at points and flags them as 60 FPS, it's dumb like that.

What you said is differently not bullshit, game is really lacking in terms of detail, lighting for example doesn't even cast proper shadow's, and most of the grass is 2d, characters, and animation are some of the worst we have seen in a long time.

I don't get why people keep harping on the technical details as if we don't know that the Wii U is an underpowered console. This game is HUGE, so of course there are limitations. Xenoblade Wii also had some of the worst textures/animations of the system as far as 1st party games are concerned but it's still gorgeous and definitely pushing the hardware.

It's Ninjablade, ignore and move on, he's been coming into Xenoblade Nintendo threads to shitpost for a while now.

Biggest thing I would like changed from Xenoblade to X is EXP in side quests. Utterly ruined my experience combat wise (everything else was phenomenal). Didn't like the fact of having to choose between challenge vs. missing side quests and losing out on abilities.

This. So much this. What they should have done is reduced the exp gained, and added in AP and SP which I could never get enough of. I had plenty of experience between fighting enemies, exploring, and doing hundreds of quests.

Yeap, that's pretty much all he's ever done in a Nintendo thread. Looking forward to see him when the GAF game of the year will be announced. :D

Looks amazing given the hardware it is running on - impressive scale through environment design with some nice textures, effects and details. The global lighting engine and how distant terrain looks is quite nice - I feel like I could breathe that air.

I just love the sci-fi fantasy theme too. I felt it looked a little generic in the city area shown previously, but everything else looks quite fantastic.

If this ends up even nearly as good as Xenoblade in terms of story, characters and mechanics then it'll be quite incredible!.

This new trailer does nothing to address the fears I have about this game. So far there has been no semblance of a story or re-occuring characters between trailers. I REALLY hope this isn't going to be mission style gameplay with custom characters, ala Monster Hunter.

Also, the fields are completely gorgeous but completely barren. Where are the enemies? Other than the giants off in the background there doesn't seem to be anything. Definitely doesn't look like a game that's supposed to come out this year, at any rate.

I really hope they hold on to this, delay as necessary, and make it something special.

I don't think you've been paying attention. Like, at all.

Like it was said, its on Wii U, really lacking in terms of detail is not what i would describe it. while having some flaws like character models, you can clearly see its an ambitious jrpg game pushing the system, it depends on the person, but this is Xenoblade HD, or Xenoblade 2, what made that game was the gorgeous art direction combined with environment scale, along with the combat system, something that its still here on Wii U, even with less colors.

It's an Exploration/Environments trailer, why would it have any story elements? And they most likely took out the enemies so they could focus on showing the environments, given how they emphasized how this was mainly about the environments in the Direct.

You've done nothing to prove your point. I actually find myself even more confused by what you're saying.

The term "flat" does not apply here (and neither is it lacking in detail). I can only come to the conclusion that the definition you have is warped beyond recognition. In no way whatsoever can any of that be defined as topographically flat. I don't know what else to tell you - you're just plain, old wrong.

Screens don't load.
Anyway, flat doesn't mean everything is a plain. I mean it lacks details on the ground, the amount, variety and quality of vegetation and generally the attention to details I've seen in FFXV. I'd prefer not to mention it here, but it's just for comparison, take a look at the latest videos. X is no different from Xenoblade in my opinion, a good overall but nothing "wow" the more and more you get closer.
As I said, graphics doesn't help because some textures are really bad and the other gaffer is right, grass is mostly 2D and shadows aren't that good either and we all know how much of a difference a good lighting can do.
Still, they're details on such a big game and it's not like they stop me from enjoying it. I was just stating what I liked and what I didn't.

I don't get why people keep harping on the technical details as if we don't know that the Wii U is an underpowered console. This game is HUGE, so of course there are limitations. We're not saying otherwise :|
Probably we just care more about these things, at least I do, especially when everything else is good. Some will disagree but I believe that these details make the difference between a good looking location and one that actually leave you speachless.

It doesn't seem like you've seen the other trailers. We already know there's going to be an involving story based on the E3 2014 trailer and a bunch of enemies besides some giants. And of course they're not going to spoil the story in a couple trailers. It was like this with the first Xenoblade as well I believe.

You kept saying that it looked "poor" though in your posts, which doesn't translate into "it's good looking but more of the little details can make it look even better."

Once again, the further you elucidate, the further you confuse. There's a ton of variation in terms of biomes, flora, fauna, and topography (more so than anything that's been shown in FFXV, if you're using that as a measuring stick). I don't see where you're coming from, and I'm convinced we're looking at different games here.

Have you seen the Treehouse? And the E3 2014 trailer? It's Xenoblade 2, the focus on story/adventure is definitely there. And the enemies too.

Well, the lack of enemies is not an issue, Xenoblade had great variety, and this is based on that, so it should not be a concern, we have seen many monsters on trailers

The story.. the main concern is the main character, other than that, we only have seen the opening, if its like Xenoblade, it will have an story, but the main focus is on the gameplay.
That said we have seen cutscenes, dialogue and developer commentary to say this is going to have many cutscenes.

Not a fan of the combat system but the trailer made my jaws drop. The scale is very impressive and there's some very nice colour palettes

I definitely like what I am hearing of Sawano's music.

I do agree though that i wish he would tone down the vocals, or at least the volume and make them more subtle as opposed to blaring them so loudly. Also more choir vocals and less solo vocals. :p

I realize there will EVENTUALLY be enemies. It's just worrisome that the game is due out at the end of April in Japan and it still doesn't have enemies in the trailers, and the characters float shuffle when they run.

The character designs look fugly and generic. It's possible that I'm just used to the Tales series way of building and revealing their games with characters first, then the rest.

As some of you suggested, I will rewatch the other trailers to see what exactly I'm missing.

Check the E3 Treehouse segments (approx 40-50 minutes each), they show there a lot of enemies and fights.

Edit: as for the characters, they should have really gone with Space Rihanna from E3 instead of this generic guy.

The opening to this trailer reminded me a lot of Xenogears, actually. The ship looked a lot like the ship at the start -- hell, the whole setup is basically the same, or very similar.
