Filthy Slug

Crowd screaming like hounds at the heat of the chase/ All the colors of the rainbow flood my face
I tried to read a comic tonight, Multiversity Mastermen, flip open to the first page and i'm not ready for comics.

The Shitler is the best part of that issue. The only miss for me so far in Multiversity.

Been thinking about getting back into playing Pokemon cards. I'm back and forth between buying a booster box just so I can get that "what will I unpack next?" high.

The games unfortunately kind of busted nowadays, at least in my opinion. Darn EXs and massive power creep essentially all but killed the evolution mechanic, and essentially made it so that people need to sink a ton of money to have legitimately competitive decks. (I've been kind of scrounging around with playing the online version without paying into anything to get my hit, but even then I really don't like the changes they just made to how that works and it's killing my motivation a little on that front).

On the plus side if you're talking collecting, it may be the best the cards have even been for that. Full art cards are way more common, and actually extend beyond the super ultra rare stuff with the latest packs, which is neat.

Do we know how well MU does for Marvel? Is it profitable, subs rising / declining, etc?

I worry that a) they cancel the service and b)they don't add any more older stuff, the later is a deffinate work since it seems they've only added recent stuff for months now

Ah man, guess it hasn't changed much in the past few years. Last I played competitively was two years ago or so when Boundaries Crossed was just released.

We have no indication that they will discontinue the service. If you think the updates are a bit erratic in regards to older comics, boy, you should have seen what it was like a few years ago. They've really improved the service.

Is it wrong the main reason I'm intrigued by civil war is to know how the fuck they wiggle themselves out of this (aka how they retcon it)? Hey at least I want to keep reading right? :/

"Radioactive Man? A little on the nose don't you think? Why not "The Atom" or "Firestorm"?

"Legal reasons"

Edit: Irredeemable Ant-Man any good? This civil war special with a bunch of short stories leading to other books (Gargan Venom leading to Thunderbolts #110 etc) made it look fun

Frontline continues to be by far the best book in Civil War

Any of you guys get subscriptions through the mail? I just subbed to a couple of series since I got tired of trying to track them down in this Podunk town and buying them off eBay was getting pricy.

I like how you dont let you destroy a good book by a single stupid page :)

What page are you referring to? I'm only halfway through mind you (well a bit more, I've read 50 of the event's 95 issues).

Also, I hate the last part of each Frontline book, the whole comparing the super hero stuff to actual war, it's cheesy and honestly almost offensive lol. I just skim that part of every issue

The page in the end, where Ben Urich and the female reporter interviewing Captain America. This one page, which is always posted online in forums to proof that Civil War is stupid shit even while its not part of the mainbook.

Infinity sucked. The marketing was all wrong for it too because they tried to make it seem like it was "what Avengers 2 is going to be about!" But instead it had very little to do with Thanos or even the Avengwrs for that matter. I also felt it introduced the builders AND got rid of them way too early in the game. And did they even do anything with Thane son of Thanos after the event?

It would have been much better as just a 6 issue story within the main Avengers book not a 18 part saga with multiple tie ins.

Huh this is weird. I was browsing events on MU and looked at Age of Ultron to see how big it was (not that bad, 18 issues). Anyway, I noticed there was a Wolverine & the X-Men issue I don't remember reading, #27, and i thought that was weird. Then I saw a uncanny avengers issue I never read, #8, and I knew I read all of those for sure so I checked and there are two issue #8s for uncanny avengers o_O

The one I read part of the normal continuity and another issue 8 part of AoU (and because I usually press next issue when I finish the one I'm on, it never showed up for me). I imagine it was the same with WATXM which makes me wonder, is that the first time Marvel has done that?

Also yes yes AoU is bad etc

They made special #x.AOU Issues for Tie-Ins. They didnt interefered with the current storyline but keept the numbering. Its a little bit confusing in the first moment, but when you think about it, its a good idea.

When you come to Infinity, you will see that they did this there again.

That Uncanny Avengers AoU tie-in is actually important to the plot. Basically one of the three AoU things worth reading.

Started Young Avengers Vol. 2 tonight.

This book has totally taken off for me. Oh man. Everything from issue #6 onwards has been pure fire. Loving every bit. Read up to #9.

There's a Comixology sale on X-O Manowar today. Do volumes 6 or 7 need anything to be read before/during in order to make sense like Volume 5 did (where it literally was gibberish unless you also read Unity Volume 1)?

Hey guys remember Inhumanity

I don't

The event that wasn't an event?

The hype for that at the time was ridiculous, then Fraction dropped off and it was swept under the rug. The tie ins were lame too, especially the Uncanny X-men issue.

I still have a promo card for it somewhere.

Probably. None of the Valiant universe is very self contained, but I don't know why you wouldn't want to read every book. It's all great.

I enjoy it a lot, but I just want to understand the order... I remember a few people suggesting writing a good reading order for Valiant after the Humble Bundle, but it never seems to have happened.
