I always thought the Katee Sackhoff thing was lazy casting. Oh, she played a tough girl in a show and is blonde. Perfect. If GAF had gotten its way before Edge of Tomorrow came out, not one person would have even mentioned Emily Blunt.

Katee Sackhoff isn't a great actor, but she can deliver her lines. Rousey so far has gotten roles where she really didn't have to show any type of emotional range, just had to spit out a line, and she barely pulls that off. She isn't an actress. It just makes no sense to put a film franchise on her shoulders.

These are comic movies, and Marvel rarely strays from their formula so we don't need Oscar quality actors. But someone with range would be nice.

I'm not hating on anyone who wants either actress. I just think fans can do better than cosplay casting. Some of the best performances in these genre movies have come from actors who the fans collectively would not have chosen.

She's got no acting ability, so people are saying to add her for her novelty. I judged her based on her novelty.

A few things:

-You don't have to be a decent actor to play a hero in a cbm. Just look at RDJ, Chris Hemsworth or that guy who played QS in AoU (man was he bad). So her not being a good actor shouldn't even be an issue. If she auditions and does a good job: give it to her. Jai Courtney still gets roles and he seems to be doing a good job in Suicide Squad.

-We got Gal Gadot as WW, she can't act for shit either but killed it during her audition (so I read). So yeah. Same thing could happen.

That being said, I've never seen her in anything so yeah...
