One Punch Man TV |OT| Just an average guy who serves as an average hero.

OK, so I've watched all 8 episodes of this (I believe that's all there has been so far (do we know how many there are in this season?)) and I'm absolutely loving it.

This is only the second Anime I have ever watched, after Attack On Titan.

Any recommendations on other Anime as funny, or maybe even more so, as One Punch Man?

I'll recommend Gintama.

It's frequently cited as one of the better anime comedies. The first 24 episodes are meh to ok, but they're setting up the characters and universe that make up the rest of the show, which is 200+ episode. I haven't seen anybody who gets past the initial hump and doesn't love the show either.

Gintama is also shonen and has the occasional serious arc, which end up being amazing. And Gintoki himself is strong as fuck.

Not yet. The guy's only watched two series so far, he's not going to get any of the references and parodies.

Good lord they love blue balling these fights, guessing the source material doesn't give them much room for handling pacing

This is important.

The more you know about Anime or Japanese culture (or both) the funnier it gets. I would certainly not recommend Gintama to a beginner, even though it's one of my most beloved series.

I only find this funny because of the
diarrhea faces

Dokuro-Chan and Kill la Kill are on too high a level. One doesn't start dumbell training with 40 pound bells no matter how big they are.

School Rumble
Beelzebub
Daily lives of high school boys
Plastic Nee-san
Nichijou

If you can be open to the art style Nichijou will literally have you busting your gut. The animation is also SS tier as far as anime goes. Beelzebub is a bit similar to OPM in the sense that the MC is OP (but a school delinquent), but he's got a far larger range of expressions. The supporting cast is also really fun and colorful. School Rumble is in my top 20 anime of all time. It's a classic romantic comedy series with a fantastically diverse cast and one of the most unique delinquent MCs in all of anime.

Dokuro-chan, Kill la Kill and Gintama are not good recommendations for someone who only started getting into anime and just watched AoT and OPM so far.

The episode looked good as always, but the awful copypaste in this scene really jumped out for me. It know that's typical for this kind of take, but it's usually masked way better.
I totally didn't notice this when I was watching but now that I saw the still it's fucking hilarious.

I think Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are good places to start, both are fairly well received by western viewers.

Devil is a Part Timer. That was a surprise hit for me and it's only 12 or 13 episodes.

Think it's still on netflix if you have it.

Difficult to say since we don't know your taste.

But since you liked Attack on Titan, you may like to watch : Fate Zero because it has the same type of quality of special effect then continue on Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade work (2015 version).

This show is so damn good, but the episodes are too damn short! This one was in the top 3 episode so far, I really liked seeing new heroes and Sonic in action, I can't for next week's episode I have a feeling it will surpass all that we've seen yet. I hope Saitama doesn't arrive at the shelter too quick though, we all know that sea king ain't going to last long against him lol. I want to see some Genos action and the resolve of that bike rider hero.

To be honest, I actually like Puri Puri. Sure, I completely understand people not liking him since unfortunately some people think gay guy = wants to rape men and I don't know if the author meant to make fun of the stereotype as this is a satire or if he believes that (NOT SAYING HE DOES, I know nothing about One's decision about Pri Pri).

But, ignoring the whole issue of him being gay, a RAPIST is a hero. Sure, you may think that is a con, but honestly it shows how screwed up the whole world is and proves that to call one a hero isn't black and white as the show continues to prove to us. And as another poster pointed out, the author said that he believed Pri pri wrong to have a harem in prison as that was indeed sick. Honestly, for being such a cliche and HUGELY offensive, he is one of the least black and white morality person in the cast. He can barely control his dark urges (by doing it or almost doing it to criminals which is at BEST fucked up) yet is willing to die to save innocent people. And yes, I have read the webcomic and without spoilers (heck the manga isn't even that far) I thought Pri Pris was bad-ass.

Just my opinion on Pri Pri Prisoner. If you despise his character, you have plenty of good reasons for it. I just find it interesting how someone can do such horrible things and yet be considered a "hero".

I mean, a lot of the S class heroes are pretty fucked up

Beelzebub is an interesting mention.

To go into detail, Beelzebub is basically about a "demonic delinquent" who gets saddled with a real actual demon baby, and he has to take care of him or he will die. As said, the MC is OP to start off with, and ends up getting into fights/taking on the other major delinquents purely as a side effect of whatever problem the baby is having at that time.

It's action/comedy and there are some pretty good laughs. Though I should warn that it devolves into pretty generic shonen territory later (and it never does that particularly well, nor does the show ever get good action to compensate for that). There's also a surprising amount of filler, and the anime itself isn't complete (so you'd have to switch over to the manga at some point.

I still think it'd be an interesting watch. I personally I think it's great as comedy, despite the boring action.

If you want something inoffensive that's really funny, try Nichijou

I watched the first episode of Nichijou last night. It being on YouTube made things much easier.
I loved it. Laughed a lot. Will definitely carry on watching.

I really appreciate all the recommendations, guys, but my God there's a lot. I will try my hardest to give them all a shot. Thanks.

If you like anime on youtube, you can watch some great stuff on there.

I recommend Yakitate Japan! & Irresponsible Captain Tylor.

Tylor is a classic and Yakitate is super fun if not a bit silly with its concept.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is funny too all things considered ;)

I just realized I can't believe I never recommended the dubbed version of Shin Chan. It's absolutely hilarious.

edit: and holy shit it has episodes in youtube by Funi!

Gonna marathon that now.

This is the best anime since bebop. Is another season confirmed?

Not any time soon, I think it'll be another year before we get a 2nd season.
The manga is progressing so slowly, I don't know if one year will be enough for another season.
We only have one arc more so far in the manga (Murata version) than what we'll see in the Anime. And it's been a while since last chapter was released.

I hope they'll just straight adapt the story from ONE version for season 2.
Murata fucking around with the manga chapters constantly is getting tiring.

It's possible if they rely on the bonus stories. I don't know if that's really something that can be justified for a season 2 though. Most of the bonus stories scream OVA and might even be the OVAs already announced. It's also only been 3ish days since the last chapter came out unless you're not counting that since it only changed 4 pages or so.

Yeah they might. I also hope they'll just adapt ONE's story, but we might miss out on Murata greatness if that's the case :p

And thanks, I didn't know a new chapter released^^
My argument still stands though, the manga is progressing too slowly.

We wouldn't even have a OPM anime if it weren't for Murata, nor would the series have blown up the way it has without him taking an interest in it first. I can't think of any negative changes in the manga version, anyway!
