How close is the manga to the original webcomic? Is the webcomic available in English?

There's decent fan translations at your usual scanlation manga reading site. The original webcomic is posted completely free, for any and all to enjoy so no guilt factor should weigh in.

I guess it just annoys the hell out of me how Saitama keeps not getting any credit at all. I just don't find that situation fun or funny.

That's the point and where Saitama's problems are stemming from it. It is his character and his character development.

He is so overly powerful that anything is no match. He is searching for that challenge. Or better to say, he is searching for a true way to prove he is a hero. The most common definition isn't someone who is insanely powerful, but someone who has to sacrifice and give it all to save others. He has not been able to find that. Hence why he had a lot of admiration for mumen rider. He went even though he stood no chance at all. Basically, that is the thing he is searching for.

This plays into his character and why he doesn't desire or need credit. He feels like he doesn't deserve it. Everyone else went against odds they couldn't beat. Him on the other is the opposite, he is the odd the other guy can't beat. He's basically a God searching for Morality. Hence why he is so apathetic towards everything. He is caught at an interesting point of being extremely selfish and extremely giving.

And how the people respond would actually be a given. Imagine if Rocky was a story about a guy who one shotted Apollo, Mr T, Dragon, and more. Half of you would be in disbelief and the other half would be doubting its real. But it would be boring as all hell. There is nothing heroic or entertaining about it. How they are responding and how he played it off was the best course of action. He sees the others as the true heroes. While himself, his only desire is the find that equal match and worth sacrifice.

it's almost 1/1 in terms of panelling. The redraw adds a lot more side stories here and there though and has recently diverged significantly (though it's kind of a story jammed into a minor timeskip, so it could all turn out to be webcanon)

/edit oh, in terms of updates, it's about a full arc behind at the least.

The manga was close to the webcomic but recently he has added new stuff and has recently deviated from the webcomic when it comes to the new arc that the redraw is up too.

the webcomic is available translated in english.

Carnage Kabuto and Vaccine Man are both Dragon while the giant is just Demon.

Man considering he nearly wiped out 2 cities by himself and can do this sort of damage,

by just waving his arm, I dunno. I'd call the association to reconsider.

But I'm not one to argue the word of god on a series where power levels are fuck all

I love this show so much! I still can't believe how entertaining this show is considering the main character is a walking deus ex machina. I wonder how long they can keep it up without producing a challenge. I mean it hasn't even been close lol

I wonder who will win? Carnage Kabuto vs Sea King. Both power levels seems off the charts and Genos can't even beat both of them in their pre-form.

The problem is that with Saitama onepunching everything it's a little hard to gauge their strength. I'd give the nod to Kabuto if only for being able to sense how strong Saitama was before attempting to attack him.

Which is why I'm using Genos as a measure which can be seen in all his fights.

Man, this episode was a thing of beauty. It actually got me emotional a few times, which I didn't really expect from this show. Lol. I now see what everybody sees in Mumen Rider as well. He's basically an average Joe version of Saitama.

I like the touch of the rain stopping, we already saw that a punch of his can split the earth and the skies, so the rain stopping is just following the logic that the clouds above were moved.

Man, this episode was simply outstanding. The way Mumen Rider kept fighting even though he knew he had no chance, and Saitama sacrificing his popularity for the other heroes' really took me by surprise; I had no idea this show had it in it to go there. And the music, damn.

Ashura Kabuto is stronger than Sea King going by threat level but Sea King was away from the sea at the time he was fought. Seemed like he used up water as he regenerated so him being IN water would probably have made him a bigger threat.

That said, you can gauge how strong each are through Genos.

Carnage Kabuto > Sea King.

I'm going by how fast Kabuto can take out Genos, not by damage done, even if I did, Genos wasn't able to put a scratch on Kabuto.

Yeah, early on I was wondering where the conflict in the show would come from since they're SUPER dedicated to "saitama is literally unbeatable and never even breaks a sweat." I'm thankful for that since it's kind of a refreshing take on a superman type character, but now that the "conflict" is just going to be saitama never getting credit for the stuff he does...I get really frustrated, like, secondhand frustration.

I really love scenes with Saitama just hanging out and becoming friends with fellow heroes. There's some real feel good moments there. Too bad we won't see his group expand in this season.

Don't bother. Saitama doesn't really care and neither should you

besides, generally speaking, the people that matter notice and recognise saitama. Bang for instance two eps back.

Yep. And he's still climbing ranks so it's not like he's stagnating in the view of the association either.

That's true. Bang noticing definitely satisfied me a little bit.

Edit: I think some of the frustration is from Genos never being like "yo you guys are wrong about this guy by the way" just because that would solve it so quickly.

Saitama doesn't glorify power at all. We've seen some fairly strong Heroes in the anime so far, but Rider is the first Saitama has shown respect for. "If Heroes run away, who's left to help?" is the line he gave to Genos, remember? He never pays attention to threat levels when going out to fight a monster. At first you might think this is because he's so strong he doesn't have to, but we know he already had that drive before he gained his power. Protecting the innocent and facing a challenge head on, regardless of how strong it is, seems to be the core part of Saitama's idea of Heroism. Rider encapsulates that despite being on the other end of the power scale.

And for it, Rider is the top C-class hero. Which is basically the "average joes that want to be superheroes" category.

Genos is the barometer for measuring the enemies since he is typical shounen guy. But instead of awakening moment, Saitama shows up.

Also, the way they built up Sea King as awful and showed his power was awesome. Anime Mumen Rider scene way better than in manga.

Btw. Why is Puri Puri Prisoner S-Rank anyways? He is a convicted rapist, one would think that would tarnish the name of the hero association..

Says more about the Hero Association than anything. A lot of the top heroes are not good people.
The convicted is what gets me. He is offically a criminal and supposed to be in jail. Most of the bad S-Ranks are mostly just dickish or have a bad attitude. Not quite sure about Pig God, but none of them seems to have trouble with the law.

He might not technically be convicted. We know he put himself in jail because he has the mindset that raping criminals is okay. Whether that means he turned himself in or just broke in and got a prison outfit isn't clear.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I really liked this episode, but what I can say is that its doing a pretty good job with character development, like more than I thought it would, I thought this was just a gag manga, but also it requires a large amount of suspension of disbelief. The people have to be turned into absolute morons or assholes in order for the character development to happen.

I thought he put himself into jail to keep the prisoners in check.

The whole ranking and hero system is flawed. Look at the amount of frauds in the system.
