I have not played in months, sell me on the changes!
PSO2 atm is all about EQs, 13*s, and stones.

Currently the most popular EQs are Profound Darkness (which drops Caligula stones and Nero stones, which are required for the current best 13*s), and any EQ involving Dark Falzes, be it the large forms or hunar forms (any form of Dark Falz can drop Nero stones).
Christmas 4 also introduced another new type of stones, drops from Dio Hunar and can be traded for Ares weapons...

Next update will introduce yet another EQ, TD4, scheduled only, it will add yet another new set of 13* weapons, but, other than them being obtainable as drops through TD4, they can also be obtained through 2 more sets of stones, 1 type of stones that can drop in all TDs and another which is exclusive to TD4...

It's the same game as before only this time they replaced running in circles with hoarding rocks. On the bright side, you're guaranteed an Ares or Austere/Ofstia/whatevertheycallit weapon if you grind enough now.

Profound Darkness is a really fun boss fight, so much so that I don't mind that I have run it like fifty times for rocks

Also the cute outfits and lobby actions keep me coming back

Hello everyone! I've played PSO 2 since launch but only recently became a gaf member. Was curious if the team is active? Would love to have a chance to play with some of you!

The new planet is literally Earth Tokyo in the year 2028 and episode 4 is set after a 2 year time skip because they somehow ran out of new original locations to go to in their space game.

The fact they named a planet "Harukotan" suggests to me they were already running a little low on new ideas.

Tis why I am off it for a bit, although Sayara's work did make it a bit better but some people there are off in some ways. Then you have Firesword Russ a troll after my heart.

I can only do so many things.

I havent even played GeologySO2 in a week now, didnt even get the cool lean LA.

Ugh. I tried getting back on this game for the first time in years and while the game works fine, it keeps crashing after maybe 20 minutes after logging in.

I'm using the Tweaker program with the English patch, and I followed virtually every solution, but it turns out the same; Either it crashes and says that "pso2.exe has stopped working", or it crashes and gives no messages.

This is a brand new computer, but it uses Windows 10, so that may be the problem.
And based on what I heard about the game not running on the OS, I'm out of luck, aren't I?

Weird, I only had that problem when I had Avast running when I upgraded to Win10. Also not sure if the problems between it and Win10 have been fixed completely.

Have you run the game and tested it without any patches to see if it does anything? I recall my friend mentioning he had to run it with no patches, updates or anything first before it started to work for him. Give that a try.

I finally read/watched all the Episode 4 info and everything they're doing looks like an attempt to increase their player base (which is hardly something to be ashamed of):
- Anime is going to be an all out promotion instead of expanding on the rich lore.
- Summoner seems to be designed to appeal to potential female players with the candy based skill system and cute pets.
- Future Earth looks to me as they're trying to use the popular anime/manga/light novel tropes.

Again, all those decisions seems smart, but I hope that the next big update will introduce more crazy sf stuff.

Looking at it Summoner seems rad as hell. Running into hordes of enemies and conducting the shit out of their mass slaughter. Shame you have 2 kinda decent looking monsters and the third is just the weird love child between Carbuncle and Nyau.

Earth would have been more interesting if Tokyo wasn't vanilla as hell, so there's some sort of zombie apocalypse going on with possessed tanks and goddamn t-rexs yet the city looks pristine.

There's already an under attack city area in pso2 though, the two areas would be too alike if Tokyo was destroyed as well.

I feel that Tokyo is already too similar to the city map, but I'll take that over another Japanese looking zone orvan area with water.

I guess this is true, I don't really mind because I like urban settings, just makes it seem a bit bland. Either way it should be required, by law, for the game to play City Escape during those goofy looking running E.Codes.

Really don't think that would happen.
At most I could see them doing an emergency quest in that area with City Escape playing, but not in the regular area itself.

I finished the main story in episode 3 and as usual it felt like a very strong finale. Maybe I should make OT3 for when the PS4 version comes out... ;)

If you'd want, I could write up some large basic tutorial/FAQ post for a new OT.
Thanks, that'd be appreciated.
If I decide to go with it, I'll probably go with captioned pictures being links leading to pages for longer explanations for classes, races, fields etc. from bumped/cirnopedia, because even in this OT2 I ran out of characters to explain everything.
As for the timing, obviously both episode 4 release and the ps4 version release would make sense, but going with the latter would allow for a larger influx of new people trying the game only because of the big console release.

In other news, so far I've made 2 attempts to clear the final side story for episode 3, died at the boss before the save point and didn't have my half dolls on me.
Those things are rough when playing a hu or fi, especially when you're rusty like me and only have 11 star +10 eq.

I got around reinstalling the game and tweaker, and troubleshooting what was causing the crashes on my computer. Since then I've been having way too much fun. Currently L48 Bouncer.

Been busy unlocking the stages and the Arks Road stuff, but barely touched the story quests. Probably because I need to concentrate on the matter boards.

Besides that, I took part in as many EQs as I could, including the latest Mining Defense quests. My teams lost a couple of times, but most of the sessions I was in won.

Are PS4 players intermingled with PC players or are they going to be sequestered on their own lobbies like Vita?
Unknown at this point, all that is known is that they're gonna be in the same servers, so at the very least PS4 players should have access to the PC/Vita shared 2xx blocks.
Though, it's likely that PS4 players will share the same blocks as PC players, the main reason for the separate Vita blocks was due to technical limitations (areas for the vita version are smaller and less enemies spawn at once).

Logged on in time to start a Profound Darkness, but not in time to switch blocks first. Ended up attempting to solo it.

Finally got killed 20 minutes in, when I found out hard way the lava puddles the toy cars explode in can actually juggle you infinitely. Oops.

I have managed to reach level 28 with a ranger/hunter, it seems the only rare drops i see are ones that are from the matter board (grab item a from enemy b etc) is this like original PSO with special weapon drops etc? Im only playing on normal and a bit of hard, just filling client orders and doing rebecca and koffe quests, should i be doing other things too? The patch is great but there is still lots in jp so i could easily be missing loads.

Yes, and I wouldn't be too worried about weapon drops until you get to level 70 or so when you'll start getting them like candy during EMs. Until then it's easier to just buy whatever you need from player shops; anything not endgame level should be fairly inexpensive.

That's a bit of a shame, the whole thing for me with PSO was looking forward to getting to higher difficulties to get drops and upgrade my shit. I guess they changed that structure for this one. Still enjoying the hell out of it. I must have put well over 2000 hours into PSO and Episode 1&2 (until I got Nol'd at level 153), and ever since I have looked for a game to scratch the itch. Cant get better than the real thing :)
