This would be incredible. I'm unbelievable excited for this movie. They probably need to start shooting for this soon, right?

Its the Committment

It shows in the work. Its why the MEGA crossover they are doing is possible

DC TV is more MCU than the MCU.
The four way crossover feels like what Netflix is trying to build up to with their shows. It's just the DC TV side is a machine that seems to be able to churn out 4 shows concurrently instead of one at a time.

Kingpin in Spiderman makes total sense, random Agents of Shield popping up in movies does not make sense, especially seeing as it's not been a big hit and no one would recognise them.

Comments from whedon during his AOU press junket

"A lot of people come back in The Winter Soldier. It’s a grand Marvel tradition. Bucky was supposed to die. And the Coulson thing was, I think, a little anomalous just because that really came from the television division, which is sort of considered to be its own subsection of the Marvel universe. As far as the fiction of the movies, Coulson is dead."

Heres the link

First, Whedon does not control what is and isn't canon.
Second, Whedon is the one who brought Coulson back from the dead in the first place.

I saw a call for extras go out here in ATL like last week. They're still shooting Guardians 2 at the moment but as soon as that's done, I think it's a matter of weeks before they begin production on "The Summer of George" (production title for Homecoming lol)

I was under the impression that the script for this movie is complete. Are they just going to find some random place to shoehorn in Kingpin?

No but only those involved with the production would know what's in the script.

Although this particular rumor is garbage, hypothetically if it was happening, he could have been included in the script from the very beginning

Would be on board with this, although I'd like to hear it from a more reliable source. Or indeed, any real source at all. If they did it though he'd have to be a side antagonist or cameo or something, I prefer the dynamic he has with Daredevil.

Ideally, Smythe and his Spider Slayers would be the real villain. Kingpin would be the one funding it and manipulating government/law enforcement types to allow them to operate in the city to take down Spider-Man. Peter would never actually come to blows with Kingpin himself, or maybe he'd just catch him in he end and get him sent back to prison.

For the record, don't buy this site, or this rumor at all.

However, I can't think of a better opportunity for a TV movie connection to pop up than in a Spider-man movie. He's New York's super hero. I would be happy just to here any reference to JJ or the Daredevil.

Hell yeah this would be great. After a few films of Lizard monsters and Electric people stuff I think focusing more on Spidey as a street level hero would be a better move for a movie or two at least.

Vincent D'Onofrio is fantastic in the role and I'd love to see him and MCU Spidey interact.

Plus it means we are one step closer to getting Daredevil on the big screen!

Yup and you know... they pay a certain price in quality for it lol

But hey as long as they keep high spirits and fun at the forefront they should do just fine

Just googled the comment mentioned in the OP:

Isn't the show apparently terrible? I'm not surprised they don't bother acknowledge it.

So your opinion on whether Marvel should back up their claim that all MCU properties are tired together is "I heard someone didn't like the show or something, so they shouldn't".

I like the idea of a Marvel TV character appearing in a Marvel movie.

I just wish it wasn't campy, cheesy, my-voice-box-is-filled-with-tiny-pebbles Kingpin

What's wrong with expecting more? So now marvel has set the bar so high these requests are out the realm of possibility? And saying she has an entitled attitude? Because she wants to be more involved with the Marvel universe? Cmon man. Its not like her individual talents on the show would suggest she's not capable.

This reeks of Robin Wright being harassed because she wanted equal pay with Kevin Spacey for House of Cards.

I'd say the same thing of pretty much anyone on that show so you shove that sexist shit up your ass.

It's nice to want things but yeah I do think the bar is higher than the inhumans in the show and I don't think lashing out because she feels they are hypocritical is good form. They actually have integrated the shows and the movies just not to the extent she wants hence me saying she's displaying a feeling of entitlement.

But she didn't lash out or anything. She was asked a question and answered it in good humour.

Anyways, this isn't even a rumour. This is just a random clickbait article. Don't pay attention to it.

She seems pissed but what does she expect? She honestly expects to get an avenger to make an appearance? Shes lucky they got fury for a few seconds.

And she seems to have a pretty entitled attitude. what reason would marvel have for shoehorning her character into a movie? Makes you hope marvel calls everyone p to the majors except her, lol.

What a stupid post.

yeah, She's real entitled to want the MCU to just acknowledge the show where SHIELD is still active, working in lieu with Fury and Hill and introducing major elements like Inhumans and whatnot.

It's been exclusively a one way street that has led to a million idiotic "these shows aren't connected, different universe" online posts delegitimizing AoS entirely.

The show had acknlowged the films multiple times, how is it fair not to do the same in a way that requires zero effort like having May or FitzSimmons pop up with Fury in the Hellicarrier scene from Ultron?

As for TV/Netflix characters showing up in the movies, this is the best choice. D'Onofrio is a well-recognized actor with a long resume from film and only later TV. And his Kingpin was great.

She's not asking for any of what you're talking about, but I guess you need a reason to hate on her.

AoS makes references to the Marvel movies sometimes, the Netflix shows all have ways of showing they're connected yet the movies rarely, if ever make any mentions of what happens on the shows.

I doubt it's actually happening. TV division is still under Ike while the movie division is not. That's why there's a rift between those two.

plz yes

Would make the Spider man movie different from the other versions and that kingpin from Daredevil has been great

The good/interesting is how he ranges from a deranged calm to viscerally violent. Weakening that contrast weakens the character.
Kingpin's scene with Matt in season 2 was probably his best for the character and it involved no heads in car doors. In fact, I think
there was no blood at all and he was literally restrained physically.

If they can't pull off the character without gore, their thinking is stuck in a box.

AoS is way more gory than the films and the tone can be more corny.

I lost count of how many joke posts we had in the various shield threads of "#ITSALLCONNECTED LOL".

I personally don't care that the shows are their own thing, as besides Winter Solider all the tie-ins have been pretty dumb because the shows have been really hamstrung on what they could do (Especially the netflix shows, those totally feel like their own thing.)

I get Chloe's frustration because there is all that It's all connected talk promotion when it's really not.

Stark is in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fisk getting involved could potentially put Fisk on Stark's radar. Connecting the dots means Daredevil ends up on the Avengers radar since digging up on Fisk means reading up about Daredevil in Hells Kitchem.

Did an article from "screengeek" really warrant a thread? It would be cool if it happened, but there's no actual source on this.

My vote is cameo but I don't want him to be a big Spider-man villain. He has been handled well by Daredevil meanwhile I saw Spiderman handle both Winter Soldier and Falcon at the same time. I just can't see him as a thread for MCU Spiderman.

But what about tone?

Spiderman was great in civil war because he was an adorable teenager. Now we are including a dude who decapitated someone with a car door.

I mean, I am all for D'onofrio and his heavenly acting chops, but would it fit?

Matt was definitely bleeding when Fisk got done with him lol

But it wasn't anything super graphic

But yes, SHIELD has shown much worse than what we see in the movies

DD is the only good MCU TV show so I hope they have a few winks to it in the movies.

I am holding out for a cameo in ininity war but not exactly holding my breath

If they go the route of creating a "space team" and an "earth team" on infinity war, I can totally see the earth team having plenty of TV cameos.
