Game is super fun but running into the occasional super pro player can instantly kill your fun. Hope Blizzard's system takes into account the hidden kill/death ratio etc. to make matches more fair. As it is I sometimes run into the super pro player whose skill is obviously leagues above the rest of the players on both teams. And then he just proceed to carry their team and there is not much I can do other than wait until they win the leave and que into a game hopefully without someone with that kind of skills.

Yup, the group matching is pretty bad. I played with a group of casuals and we got matched with these uber players who did everything together. We got smoked. The best part is they keep you in the games with them instead of looking for another group. People end up having to leave the game and regroup to play a different group. I hope they fix that.

well I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this pain. Almost made me quit the game entirely last night.

I played with two other new players in a group and they liked the game, but felt it was way too hard to get a handle of before just getting stomped by others.

Mercy is really hard to play as when your team is all over the place. Not only do you have to chase people down to heal them but if they aren't protecting you then you're just fodder for the enemy team. Lucio is safer because he has his alt fire which knocks back and wallrun with speed boost to try to make an escape. His ult can be huge to set up a push but it can be hard to co-ordinate with people who aren't communicating.
Yeah that's the one issue I do have as Mercy, dying way too much. I hop from player to player when they're close to try to mitigate my incoming damage but there are just so many good players and the lack of a self heal doesn't help. I get the auto-regen after a bit with no damage but that's very rare it seems.

Unfortunately, people seem to think they're invincible when they have that beam on them... Almost every game I play as mercy there's at least one idiot who runs straight into the fire fight like goddamn Achilles, assuming that I can heal him through the entire enemy team...
Haha, yeah I've seen that.

This is what I tell myself at night in order to go to sleep :(

But honestly I've had two Overwatch dreams already. The thing I think about most when I'm at work is Overwatch. A couple of friends invited me to the strip club the other day and I said no just so I can play more Overwatch.

Yeah I am at that phase now lol, and at work thinking about Overwatch conveniently enough.
It is so bad that I have a nine day vacation from work coming later in June and now I am like..."You know.instead of going anywhere...I could stay home and play Overwatch..alot"

Lucio is still better in pub games and for low skill players because he is much easier to use, and is effective no matter how idiotic your party is being.

I imagine that in more competitive play, they are much closer to each other.

Yea, grouping is a gamble because you will eventually match up with people who play together a lot and form strategies. But the MM needs to know that if one side is beaten badly, they should look for another group automatically. Destiny implemented this system and it was an improvement in PVP with groups.

Once you get some more games in with her the movement options with her Guardian Angel dash are awesome for escaping but it has some startup and you're not invincible while flying so it isn't perfect but it does give you options. Escaping an ulted Genji because you flew up to Pharah and then away to someone else is pretty satisfying.

Definitely give Lucio a go though. Sometimes it feels like you aren't doing too much because his normal heal is pretty slow but it goes fast when he amps.

If you have good aim you might want to mess around with Zenyatta a bit but he's very squishy without escapes other than his ultimate. So he's pretty unfriendly to mistakes.

Man, arcade is ridiculous.

Tried to stay out of the chaos with WM. Gorillas everywhere on ground level.

It is chaotic.
My biggest thing is changing strategy because with some people having extra life and Ultras and specials coming faster I really have to work harder with my hit and run because things that would normally kill someone now doesn't or rezing and cluster missles, self destructs and other things are happening left and right

Yep I might stop laying this for a couple weeks until all the fucking terrible players stop playing. I'm consistently getting gold medals in eliminations, damage and objective kills yet I haven't won a match in literally hours of playing. This matchmaking is failing me spectacularly.

I'm not particularly trying to be a prick but have you ever considered its you? Maybe you're not the entire problem as to why you're losing but maybe the way you play. Chasing medals the way you do. Maybe you're not playing for the team you're with. Just playing for you.

I read and hear a lot of this from guys like you.

All last night we felt this..... Have to leave, regroup and re queue just to face another group. We knew right away within the first few minutes these guys were comp players and very good due to ultimate coordination and skill stacking very, very well. It's killed a lot of fun. Seems queuing solo gives you a better chance to have fun than grouping with six players lol

Nah man, I'm consistently playing objective. A ton of time other people just aren't pulling their weight.

I finally won one just now while getting golds in objective kills and objective time. It's just that I feel like there are still a lot of ransoms out there playing the game like its Call of Duty or something, which it's obviously not.

Thanks for the info. Gonna give Lucio a go when I'm on later and see how it goes. I love having the ability to play against the AI for situations like this. Loving the game so much more than I thought I would.

do they have doublexp weekends or something like that planned ? did they do it in the beta ?

feel like leveling could go a tad bit faster ...

the only thing i find hard about lucio is knowing when to use the speed

obviously right out of the gate but I'm always wondering when i should be healing instead

i guess i should stick to healing unless i need speed to save my own ass?

As support I hate when some rouge Genji or Tracer thinks that it's a smart idea to zip all the way down to where the enemies all by him or herself. When I first started the game I used to try to go after them when they were low on health, now if they are too far away I have to let them die. It happens in both attack and defense, they just can't seem to stop doing it.

LOL, just had a random match where we all ended up selecting Torb's on Hollywood for defense. Good times, the salt from the other team was definitely there after the POTG.

I could see them doing that, but as XP gain is directly tied to Loot Boxes I could as easily see them not.

Which brings up why I'm surprised there isn't a purchasable XP gain upgrade a la Heroes of the Storm

or maybe its a new different game for a lot of people? attitudes like this (along with the matchmaking) are whats killing the game for new players.

the game has been out for a week.

Then you, Sir have terrible luck. I'm a rubbish player but I am very objective focused. So getting kills. Yeah. It's a good game if I get 10. But I still manage a good number of wins in PUGS.

When to speed:

-Obviously out of the gate: depending on distance, you should amp.
-Escaping: amp if you think you are going to have a hard time getting to safety.
-Getting to an ally in trouble: avoid amping because you will need it when you get there to heal.

When to heal:

-Every other time.

When to shield:

-On major pushes. Either yours or you enemies.
-On enemy Ultimates.
-When too many allies are critical. Combine it an amped heal. Then camp heal.

When to CC:

-Always. Always be be on guard for moments when you can disrupt enemies to help hold a point or give allies a fighting chance.

Man, today has been a terrible day. Been playing most of the day, I've been in the winning team maybe 3 - 4 times, rest of the time my team kept getting completely steamrolled by the enemy. Really brings one down for wanting to keep playing, I was persistent and kept going but it didn't get any better.
I think I'll go back to Witcher 3 once B&W is out and maybe give Overwatch another go sometime later if my luck with teams gets any better.

Keep in mind that he can handle himself surprisingly well with the heal in 1vs1 or 2vs1 situations as long as you're constantly on the move, so you don't HAVE TO run away with the speed always. Keep jumping and wall running and you can hold a position better than the character should really be able to, but if it's you versus 5 or 6 people, yeah, run.

The fucking Dwarf and his stupid turret are so infuriating as a Tracer.

Like, I can't do anything to it BUT blink towards it, bomb it, rewind. Even that doesn't work sometimes because it's been leveled too high for it to die in one bomb.

I can't stutter-peek it, it reacts way to fast and the moment you push the corner to shoot a bit and fall back, it's hit you back as well.

The fucking Dwarf himself is obnoxious, oh you caught him off guard? Okay, better get close so my pistols actually do damage, Oh fuck the Dwarf can one shot you with his shotgun in the range you need to be to kill him with one full mag of your pistols.

:(

Tracer does well vs most heroes and she can kill the turret with her ult... she has it much better than most.

Time to switch hero if your team can't take them out.

I have held a point with 6 people for a short time. Including a Roadhog.

I have no idea how I manged it with Lucio. But I also managed it with Genji, so I think the pubs were just particularly shitty.
