Is there a cocky character with a worse fight record than Vegeta?

Hiei delivers a line that Vegeta will never understand.

"I hate being underestimated, but underestimating is worse."

That's why Hiei has a good record and Vegeta doesn't, Hiei will do anything to get that W for the squad. That's why the whole squad has a good record, they do it for the squad and not their egos.

One thing that made me mad in the last DBZ movie was it was finally Vegeta's time to shine, kill Freeza, and get not only his pride redeemed but revenge for his people and family. Still found a way for Goku to take the W.

Really lame imo.

I like Vegeta but yeah his struggle is pretty nonsense.

It's pretty eyeroll worthy, but what do you expect from a series that trumpets a massive buffoon as its main hero.

Hercule. He seems to exude some kind of kayfabe field that that prevents the audience from knowing how badly he's getting his ass kicked.

Wimp Lo from Kung Pow. He was bleeding, making him the victor.

Blue from Pokemon. He may have beaten the gyms and the Elite Four but he's lost to me on countless occasions.

Every Prosecutor in Phoenix Wright

Genos in One Punch Man is getting there. He gets less cocky after Saitama shows him that he ain't shit but he still has that cocky way about him whenever he fights someone when Saitama isn't around.

Nah. Most of the Prosecutors are legitimate legends, it's just that Mia, Phoenix and his proteges are demigods of the law.

Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara accepted their loss shortly before Yusuke returned. And if you didn't count Sensui, then you can't count it against Yusuke either.

Yusuke loses to Raizen too.

I wouldn't count it as a win, but Yusuke literally dies against Sensui.

His whole shtick is "only the strong should survive ggrarrrr!" yet he's a total coward

He forces all his enemies to go through the gauntlet so they would be completely fatigued by the time they reach him while also having his wife relay to him all their fighting techniques.

And he still got bodied.
Shishio's no coward brah, he was fighting with a huge disadvantage as well so I can't fault him for what he did

Goku and Bulma would've been a beast couple. Their kid would've been amazing.

Trunks 2.0 would be more starved for attention then normal trunks is considering how awful of a parent Goku is to his own sons.

Are we going to take away Vagetas kills on Napa, Kui, and Goldo?

I've been skipping through some episodes of DBZ, andtwo things are constant throughout. Vegeta is cocky and Vegeta loses. It's not even such a big deal that he loses, but he acts like he never loses. He doesn't even fight against the odds because it is what an honorable warrior does. He just has delusions that he will win every fight.

This list is comprised from my memory and what I've seen skipping around so far (insignifcant or assissted wins are ignored):

Vegeta makes his first appearance on Earth and fights Earth's defenders, who are all outclassed by him, besides Goku.
Loses to Goku/Gohan, 0-1

Vegeta visits Namek to continue his quest for the dragon balls.
Loses to Zarbon, 0-2

Vegeta is assisted by some convenient ret-conning. Suddenly, super sayans are made to be even stronger after recovering from a fatal injury. Goku lost many battles as a child, but was never made stronger from them. I guess the writers felt that Vegeta needed a handicap.
Defeats Zarbon, 1-2

Vegeta shits his pants for once and recognizes when he is outclassed in a rare moment when the Ginyu Force arrives.
Loses to Recoome, 1-3

Vegeta gets cocky on the power of writer's assistance and thinks his recovery will let him beat Frieza just like how it helped him beat Zarbon. Frieza easily disbatches Vegeta. Vegeta manages to spit out his sob story to Goku. This moment is meant to humanize Vegeta and make the viewer realize that Vegeta was actually a victim of Frieza and had no chance to be any other way. Viewers knew this moment well. It was the same kind of moment Piccolo had against Nappa. However, these were just meaningless dying bitch tears. Vegeta will not learn from this after being revived later.
Killed by Frieza, 1-4

Vegeta trains non stop to become a super saiyan, crying that Goku achieved it before him. Once he reaches it, his ego also becomes a super saiyan. This is sadly fed with his defeat of Android 19, the weakest of all androids.
Defeats Android 19, 2-4

Vegeta is being repeatedly told by Trunks that Android 17 and 18 are far too powerful for him. Trunks is telling him that in his time, Vegeta and all the other fighters have been killed by them, and these versions of the androids are even stronger. He literally has somebody from the future telling him what will happen. But his ego will not be stopped and he is quickly left with a broken body by Android 18.
Loses to Android 18, 2-5

Vegeta trains in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a year and his ego is recharged. He has no idea how strong Cell is now, but still believes he is destined to win.
Loses to Cell, 2-6

Vegeta watches his son be murdered by Perfect Cell. Goku, his greatest rival, sacrificed himself to stop Cell, while Vegeta refused to even acknowledge Trunks as his son, who simply wanted to save his father as well as to get to finally know him. Both Goku and Gohan have suffered great losses in battle. Both of them reached new peaks from them and defeated foes that easily outclassed them. Vegeta just puts on a meaningless fireworks show before being one-punched by Perfect Cell. This moment was meant to try and re-humanize Vegeta. It proves to fail again later.
Loses to Perfect Cell, 2-7

Vegeta can't stop being mopey over how his birthplace doesn't give him everything like he was told. When he sees Goku again after several years, he sees that he is still no match for Goku. The only logical conclusion is to do something equivalent to selling his soul to the devil for strength. Even in this form, he still cannot beat an already-dead Goku who is simply defending himself against Vegeta.
Fails to defeat Goku, 2-8

Vegeta underestimates Maijin Buu and is beaten.
Defeated by Maijin Buu, 2-9

Vegeta fights Kid Buu in an act of desperation, but loses as expected.
Defeated by Kid Buu, 2-10
How does he lose to Kid Buu? He literally acts as a sandbag so goku can charge the spirit bing to kill his ass. That means that he WON the fight...

I mean, he kinda had a crew.

And was smart enough to use them, I mean what's the point of having a crew id you're gonna do everything yourself? Infact maybe I am remembering incorrectly but I think the main reason he formed the Juppongattana was to compensate for the fact that he couldn't fight at full potential for more than a few minutes anymore.

If we are picking apart all his wins for kill steals, previous damage and unimportant characters who is getting the win for beating him on Earth? Took four people!

I was gonna say Kui, but that's not even a win worth counting. It's almost akin to saying that his win record is amazing, if you count the audience members Vegeta murdered in the Buu saga.

He wins all the time though, he's actually undefeated. He won every tournament he had been in and he assisted in the victory against Kid Buu (in essence, he is the reason the Spirit Bomb killed Kid Buu). He is also the only character on Earth who has never died once.
The true hero of earth.

Donald Trump.

Born into a wealthy powerful family and lived a life of entitled ego.. at least he has his 2 wins like vegeta, presidential primary and finally winning the presidency.. but after being elected he's surrounded by vegeta tier failing...

Yet his ego remains intact.

He takes mad Ls cause of all the innocent people hes killed at the beginning of DBZ, you dont get to be the bad guy at the beginning, turn good, and end up with Ws like Goku does

Dude got Bulma.

That's the biggest W in the series.
This is why Vegeta stays winning. The most beautiful thing about that relationship is how similar bulma and vegeta are. Both come from very powerful families (vegetas was literally royalty while bulmas was money), both have ego issues, both get pissed super fast, both are super emtional, and both are very passionate about their craft. One of the best better written romances in shonen imho.

In a world where you can erase peoples deaths you can. Hell ask piccolo or dragon ball super Majin Buu.

Goku isn't a great parent, but he still comes ahead of Vegeta. Who never seems to do anything, but train. While Goku provides for his family(Vegeta is a gold digger too). And let's not forget the amount of times he put his ego ahead of his family.

Crippled Napa, Goldo, while he was busy fighting someone else. I'll give you Kui.

I am Korean.
Nah fam he is 3-9 not 2-10. He defeated 2nd stage Cell pretty handily. Actually, he helped Cell absorb #18 to become perfect, because he thought it would make a better fight.

Still sucks ass though tbh.

Vegeta killed Perfect Cell. Gohan never would've gotten over the hump without Vegeta saving his ass.

Gohan lost the use of his arm during that fight to save Vegeta. Vegeta was out after his arm was broken. Gohan defeated Perfect Cell with 1 arm. Hell, Goku defeated Piccolo with only one working limb and a softball sized hole in his chest.

Yeah his record is pretty bad. But he is still by far the most developed character in dragon ball.

Piccolo is far more developed, same for Tien. Vegeta does not develop. He is evil. Then he is the evil product of an even worse even, robbed of any chance of a normal life. Then when he is free from his oppressor, he is just a cocky asshole. Then he is a cocky asshole with a family. Then he is a cocky asshole with a family that he abandons to become evil again. Then he finally takes the L.

He also developed a staggering amount of L's.

Guy can't even acknowledge himself as the king. We know who the real king is.

Losses against women don't count since he refuses to fight
Vegeta should've taken this stance. He would've had a slightly better record.
