On one hand, I should wait for the Series X/PS 5 enhanced versions, because lots of bugs will also be fixed by then. On the other hand, I want to piss off ResetEra types NOW by buying the game. Decisions...

The review thread there is like the one here... 10/10 first... 7-6/10 bottom.
I really didn't see any issue there.

I don't believe it is real.

The thread you linked is locked. This is the only open thread currently. Open your own link ya lazy fuck

I think the criticisms of representation are valid, be it gender or race, but I don't think it should be the deciding factor in the game's review. People aren't buying this game to see how certain groups are represented, they just want to know how the RPG experience is. I think the game is pretty juvenile and immature when it comes to the representation, but maybe that was the intention. It's difficult to know with CDPR. Aside from that, this looks like a solid game overall.

I just want artists to make the art they want in whatever form it takes, if thats a white person making only exclusively white characters then thats their choice, or a black person making only black people, or an asian person making only white characters, etc etc. If it doesn't make sense in the context of the world it will stand out and be less well received and people won't buy it.

I just don't know why any fictional world needs to abide by the race ratios of the real world. Not attacking you mate, just I don't know why people NEED to represented in a totally equal way, in fictional work. I would never dream of telling a <person of X race> to stop making worlds filled exclusively with people of their race, thats strange to me.

Why do those Resetera hate this game?

I mean this game have fukin genitals cutomization to appease trans people, imagine that

Isnt that what they always dream of ?

If thats still not good enough they can kindly feck off and make their own transmania game

Well their complete misunderstanding of what being transgender is boils down to what genitalia a person has, so they’re latching on to certain marketing that makes them think trans people as a whole are being made fun of.

They also don’t actually understand the meaning of the word transphobia. No one involved is afraid of transgender people, they’re just not coddling them and apparently that’s a crime.

What the fuck they were doing all those years when it's so short for RPG? I know sidequest and shit, but damn... Seems more like akin to Deus Ex: Mankind divided. Well I am pre-loaded already, so I am going to play it anywhere, however:

7 years in development, no next-gen patch, short main quest. W H Y

These scores do give hope that the game will become a very good open world shooter once the patches have fixed everything, as they did with The Witcher 3. At least the core of the game is sound & that's good enough for me to be confident I'll eventually play this thing.

That Resetera thread... Holy shit.

It's like a modern version of the nazis burning books which they didn't find suitable to their tastes.

Nazis?

Okay. How about call them what they are: degenerate communists, Marxists & far left nutjobs. It's totally absurd to label them "Nazis". What the fuck do you think Heinz Guderian & co would do with the reset sodomites?

That is the actual review thread... I believe it should be opened, no?

I mean what there is even to be evaluated... that is crazy.

Shame it won't achieve the dream of 95+. However at least it seems like the things it's getting dinged for are mainly bugs, which don't really matter much to be personally unless it's straight up game breaking or constant. I don't remember having any issues in Witcher 3 when that launched, and Bethesda games are some of my favourites of all time.

Then again it's hard to take a lot of review scores seriously these days

Guys guys guys, check out the review thread on Era. They're only allowing negative reviews and it's fucking hilarious. Maybe I'm getting too old ( I'm 27 jesus fucking Christ) but this is world is starting to scare me

It's pretty funny how they closed the normal review thread because - "Staff is re-evaluating how Cyberpunk 2077 threads will be handled. Until a decision is made, this thread will be locked. ". Which was all of 38 minutes ago, when they were clearly already doing what they're continuing to do with the review thread, which is only allow negatively charged threads about the game.

But yeah, ERA in it's current form is what you get when you spend years cultivating an echo chamber that leans far left politically. I genuinely do wonder how long it can last the way it's going. I can't imagine that ERA is growing it's user base at this point.

Does any of the review cover the following?

1. Choices, Do they have any? Do they matter at all in the story (like Obsidian Games)
2. Graphics.
3. Sound
4. RPG elements. Leveling up, Skill trees etc.
5. Gameplay. Does driving the cars suck, is shooting fun.
6. Can I roleplay into side content/exploration (like Skyrim, I had 100 hours in that game before I ever went up the fucking mountain).

I feel like the reviews are taking issues with how certain groups aren't portrayed in a realistic or even respectful light, which is why I think it's appropriate to point out and critique. Cyberpunk is a world about transhumanism and whatnot, so for the game to view trans people primarily in an aesthetic or pornographic light, then the game doesn't do a good job at portraying them within the context of the world. There should be some nuance when depicting minority/marginalized people in a world like Night City, and CP2077's getting criticized for not doing that, and I think that's fair criticism.

Nah, the game has nice AO and GI, it is evident in many screenshots without RTX and even in the console footage. It's just that its hard to have perfect GI and AO everywhere in a giant open world, that's the negative of pre-baking light. It happens automatically with RTX so every possible scene is perfectly lit.
Nice? Mate it's not fucking there at all! There's a big difference between not perfect and shit. The comparison you've shared has the game non-RTX look like dog crap, I'm not discussing other screens.

I'm not surprised at all. Polygon and Kotaku LOVE that stuff. They constantly go off on these weird tangents that hardly have anything to do with the game anymore. Or anything with games period. It's pretty embarrassing to me.

None of these reviewers have had access to THAT patch. They received another patch. But that particular patch is not available until launch. The fixes it will have are nothing but an assumption at this point.

They have told reviewers to use their stock footage in videos and won't allow them to use their own until launch and when that patch is available. So, I'm hoping it's because the patch will fix a lot of it, but we'll see.
Strange, pcgamer outright said it was the "day 1" patch but even I doubted it.

Building the city so we can burn it, obviously. I bet we will get some nice juicy story DLCs so it's all good.

They will end up with a few hundred hardcore losers and they will all follow the rules on what to think on every topic. So all replies will basically be the same. Doubt whoever is raking up the ad money there will be happy with that though.

Criticisms of transphobic imagery are fair, but Era takes performative wokeness to Oscar-winning levels. It's a real horror show.
Can you elaborate what is transphobic about that imagery? I mean, to me it seems like it celebrates "openess" in future society.

Well I would welcome some Gaas type added content, because DLC is probably going to take a lot of time. But that's just me. I think I payed a lot for the game already, if it's on the RPG short side...

Holy shit I thought posters were being bombastic when saying Resetera wasn't allowing a reviews thread but they really went there, the only reviews allowed are ones that complain about the trans issues in the thread 😂.

Relax buddy, I wasn't calling them nazis, I was just comparing that thread to the book burnings because both represent extreme ways of censoring.

Bugs sound completely gamebreaking according to Laymen Gaming - amazing game but still feels rushed out despite the delays. Gonna wait for the next gen update for sure.
