Just a bit in so far but I’m surprised to get a fairly steady 60 FPS on my rig. 4690k cpu & 1070 GPU. Haven’t OC cpu yet.
Though I’m still only at the club w/ Jackie on the Corpo class.

Fin-a-lly installed ( took a day and a half).
First run I always go with "default good guy", so I'm sticking with Nomad. Figured he'd best play with gunslinger + tech build ( self reliant, live on their own in the wastes), but I think I'll go with Cool+Intelligence for stats, Sniper Rifles+Hacking for skills/Perks. Kind of seems a lot of missions would require/reward more stealth approach ( so I don't want to miss any content).
Few questions, choombas:
- Do any of higher tier/level weapons have stat requirements ( like shotguns with high body stat)
- How "tight" is character progression? Do you really need to specialize in two or three stats/skills/Perk trees or it's more like Skyrim ( with enough playtime you can be good at everything). I've read some previews mentioning it's very slow with leveling system ( which I like in rpgs)
- Anyone using nanowire? Seems it's sort of melee weapon for hackers. Does it require any stats/perks?
- Advice on economy, what to spend money on?Should I get lower tier cyberware first or wait for a while to buy something better? Anyone here playing with high end/game cyberware?

I better be able to romance Judy. I hope she likes boobs and penis cause I got both :messenger_blowing_kiss:

If you've gone female (and boobs are only available as female I believe) then yes you'll be able to.

I think an Early Access feature for this game would have helped.

Look, if there's one thing that's undeniable is that this game does not bear the mark of something that was finished a while ago and has been subject to fine-tuning for months. This thing looks it was still giving people at that studio sleepless nights right up until the last possible day. You can see the ambition, but you can also see the blood, sweat and tears. No doubt this game has had a troubled development, but I think they delievered.

There's a lot of room for improvement here in terms of bug fixes and gameplay refinements, though - and I have no doubt it will improve.

I just tried the game on my PC after tried it on PS5. The game at 1440p on ultra LOW settings looks generation ahead of the console versions LOL. Its kinda shocking. Consoles must be running on ultramega low low settings

The way the game runs non-optimized for 2020 hardware has very little to do with it.

Everyone is somehow focused on framerates, LODs etc, while the real problem here is buggy and severely undercooked scripting, animation, physics, some of the combat mechanics, hilariously bad enemy AI, and companion AI somehow even worse. You know, the gameplay stuff.

And that's too bad 'cause some stuff about the flexibility of character building and the world is just amazing, I really like the story and I am having a lot of fun just doing my best to look past this shit but more often than not it's just too much.
hard disagree here it's one of the most ambitious games ever made and gets more right than it does wrong it definitely gets more right than Witcher 3 does.

I give up :( it’s now crashed my PS4 pro in the same place on the main quest 3 times in a row in act 2. What with everything else I mentioned earlier I wonder if I could get a refund.

Sorry to hear. I've also run into hard crashes during story moments on the PS5, but they've been one time events. Other than that, I've thankfully only encountered minor bugs.

I must be playing a different version of the console game because it looks fine on my X Box one X. HDR is garbage but RDR2 has that problem as well.
The Pro consoles version are "fine" but they kind of run how you would hope the base consoles do, i.e. 1080p(ish) and 30fps with the equivalent of conservative medium-low PC settings.

Which you're right, is fine. Like it's a great game, beautiful, and perfectly playable in that state, I think people just expected those versions might get a little closer to PC.

The more I play of this game the more I have to wonder if CDPR did the right thing by trying to market it as GTA: Cyberpunk to the masses.

It's a great game, but it's a slow, complex burn like Deus Ex. It's also really dark and uncompromising. Honestly, considering the average gamer out there, this type of game is actually pretty damn niche.
Hence why the game is already all over Mercari for 55$. This is exactly why I cancelled. 2 more weeks and I’ll grab it for $30 from someone trying to make something back

...wait, is it true you can't change hairstyles? Like literally no way to change your appearance in any way once you're past the character creator?

There's a guy on every street corner that can give me cybernetic implants, but there's not a soul in Night City that can cut my hair?

What the fuck, dude. There are some bizarre omissions in this game.

Holy shit the Cyberpunk subreddit is completely on fire. So many people pissed off at the game. I think it's fair to say at this point that the game didn't meet the hype.

It's getting to the point where I'm noticing people are talking less about the bugs, and more about the actual faults of the game. Lifeless NPCs, lack of QoL features (no transmog, no barber, lack of customization), and bad AI are the criticisms I see the most. To be honest, even though I'm having a really good time with it, I can see where the criticisms are coming from. The game was marketed as the next evolution of Open World RPGs, and it's not even close. Granted there are a lot of things to like about it, and a lot of things it does very well.

Hopefully in a couple years from now, after many QoL changes, polishing, DLC, balance tweaking, and features being added, CP77 will be a vastly improved experience than it is now. The potential is there. There are a lot of people shitting on this game (some of it deservedly so), but who knows what state this game will be in 1-2 years from now. But as it stands right now, it's undercooked, and does some things that are a step back for Open World RPGs.
The game met the hype if you're not running it on a toaster

So how does the fps gameplay feel?
Is it more fluid like a dedicated fps or does it feel more tacked on like a Fallout/Bioshock type deal.

Eh, most games add this later on. It's weird how people are complaining about this.
Finished char creation screen, for First Person game it's pretty good overall, closer to Mass Effect with way more misc options. I've no idea what some people were expecting here: something like Eve Online or Black Desert?
One thing I would've liked to see is some body type options, from ripped Rocky Balboa Nomad to chubby Corpo George Constanza.:messenger_grinning:

I think expectations were so impossibly high for this game that some people are disappointed that it's just an iterative step above other games in the genre rather than something that completely redefines gaming.

That was always going to be a thing, like the hype for this game was just so completely through the ceiling. And the fact is, it really is a next-level game in a lot of ways. Certainly in terms of graphics and world-building it's fucking unbelievable, and the storytelling is the kind of stuff we expect from CDPR. It's just the presence of any rough edges is something a lot of people weren't really braced for.

Somewhere in between. In terms of feel, it's pretty similar to the recent Deus Ex games, but the bullet sponge enemies put the focus more on stats and abilities, kind of like Destiny. Mechanically, it could totally be a solid FPS, but it isn't designed or paced like one, it's definitely an RPG.

Don't have enough gameplay to form an opinion but in terms of graphics... It seems blurry on my XSX.

Game looked much sharper in the videos I saw. Presume they were PC

How is there not a plastic surgeon type thing like in Saints Row where you could just redo the character creator

So, this is unplayable on PS4Pro/X1X too, right? By what I’ve seen on Reddit, people is asking for refunds.
No, it's playable on the Pro consoles, but it runs like most games do on base console, which is to say 1080p (+/- 10% dynamic res), and 30fps with some occasional drops into the mid-20s. So not unplayable at all, but certainly underwhelming.

I think the fact that they didn't put out next-gen console ports in time for launch probably sent the wrong message that they were "targetting" current gen a little more, when in reality it's abundantly clear that this is a next gen game being crammed onto last gen by brute force.

I would say, so far, it's mostly meeting my hype. I just started Act 2, so I'll have to wait and see. My only real disappointment is the lag of customization (no transmog, customizing weapons/apartment/vehicles, or changing hairstyle) and the random NPCs are pretty lifeless. Other than that I'm really enjoying it.

Didn't Witcher 3 also not have this at launch and they added it later? Or maybe it was the ability to change beards? Am I losing my memory?

Curious, is that girl from the super early trailer who gets grazed by a bullet when being shot by the cops, in the released game? Or was that V?

I dont know were I got this handgun but after I upgraded it a couple times none of my other guns come close.

What's everyone favorite weapons so far? I have found some really unique snipers.

I'm a little confused when it comes to DSP.

When I equip a better weapon stat wise the lower ones magically get a boost in higher DSP when compared? Whats goin on here.

Absolutely, which is why I’m still playing but that doesn’t change anything about its worst flaws having nothing to do with graphics fidelty or how it runs on consoles.

Its an incredibly buggy, unfinished game.

Are you saying PC version runs different AI, physics an animation etc and all systems work flawlessly as you’d expect?

I'm saying the version I'm playing all those things are up to snuff for me. the game is doing a lot it's juggling a lot of plates and it's doing it incredibly well it's certainly doing it well enough for me to enjoy the game and when I say enjoy the game I mean like the best game of this entire console generation maybe.

Chugging through perk trees: aside from a few lackluster ( +10% to x) perks here and there, this is a huuuge improvement over Witcher( which was kind of bland and limited), and other similar rpgs out there. Way better than something similar in Skyrim, Mass Effect or Fallout.
Loads of cool, condition based/timed perks, and there is a really nice synergy between gaining skill gets you extra perks ( either additional perk or some unique bonuses). Reminds me a bit of Enaisaion's perk mods from Skyrim.
There is also a mastery perk in every tree: on top of it's own effect, you additionally gain +1% effect for perk level.
Is this based on it's own perk level or investment in all perks in that same tree ( so if you have spent 15 perk points in that tree overall, it's +15%)
Plus all the weapons, cyberware, and customization options for them..this game will have builds and builds and builds.
I don't see how anyone can be disappointed with character progression system here ( unless you went in expecting 1-1 PnP translation)

Games of huge scale, complexity, and depth often come out buggy. But we have terms like Eurojank for a reason. It's just that this past gen we didn't see much like that, it was mostly simple icon on a map action games with tacked on skill trees and loot systems.

The one we know for a fact is that the developer is going to fix these problems.

That's a good point.

I would say it wouldn't surprise me if they added it in in the free DLC program coming 2021 or the subsequent big expansions.

Those who says it looks good and HDR is good just don't have an eye for this things.

First thing I noticed was weird resolution and artifacting and I was right. Game got fucked up TAA that creates strong ghosting effect. In motion it makes screen looks like blurred mess.

Initially I thought it's some kind of checkerboard rendering artifacts but DF confirms it's TAA

My own screenshot

And DF wideo time stamped.

I also pointed out bad HDR implementation (greyed out image) and guess what... HDR is fucked up too. Vincent from HDTV confirms it.

On top of that aiming on pad is fucked up too.

It's beyond me how anyone can defend it and I am from Poland where everybody loves Reds.

We are also sitting at couch distance and don't have cyber enhanced eyes to zoom in or get up every 30 seconds to look at each texture and yes, it's possible to fix HDR and make it look better than SDR by a smidge, it's still not great HDR cause you have to cap the peak brightness so much and every time you restart the console the settings reset but it's doable.

@OP When going from mission to mission or traversing the city I have to walk, take the car or fast travel. Fast travel breaks more often than not and when it does work it takes five minutes when you have to get to the point and then load a location. I can take the car and almost certainly have the performance of the game reduce to shite and increase bugs and glitches, especially visual ones. CDPR really rolling out the RPG choices here, this are some big ones. Walking would be feasible if there wasn't a stanima meter and if the trek isn't too long. Fast travel works without reducing performance but can need a console restart if it freezes, seems to be 50/50 and the car needs a console reset anyway cause I can't take the level of graphical jank that piles up after using it. Best choice so far is to use the car but drive it at running speed and hope for the best, still a gamble though.

I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it through this game the way and at the pace I want to, as absolutely amazing as it is when it is running well and its so fucking good. The main missions work well at least, especially the ones in doors so a straight main mission playthrough and that's it for me.

#fuckCDPR and there corporate bullshit. They became the thing they founded themselves to be against and change. Fuck em.

The footsteps sounds randomly disappear, I have to reload my save for them to come back. Its pretty annoying immersion wise and it happens fairly often.

Anyone else?

Decided to put playing this game on hold on my PS5. The crazy long delayed pop-ins make it unplayable and the low res textures and lack of atmosphere are killing the experience for me. There's a great game underneath the lack of polish. Hope the devs are able to sort it out soon.
