Holy shit watching that I thought I was watching the making of a Ride to Hell 2. Game reminds me of that so much. Not good at all.

Paul Verhoeven knows the truth, you only need to watch the first 12 seconds to understand:

I'd rather have sex with the shirtless eyeliner guy than any of the women. The glasses one looks like a female version of me haha.

Also someone said they thought the nerdy business guy will be "queer/questioning" but I bet he will be Asexual:

"I just don't see the point in breeding when I could be working"

Copied Watch Dogs 2 AND their lack of use of object-based motion blur in cutscenes (or its just ultra-slight/poor and being masked by youtube compression) so it kinda looks like stop-motion fortnite. I think I can see OBMB in-game but its a crap implement with a horrible trail coming off the character.

Some graphical/art styles can definitely convey great motion without OBMB but it takes some serious talent, like Rockstar with RDR 2, but thats likely in the top 5 most expensive games ever made so you'd hope they can make their vision look amazing in the way they want to. I know lots of people hate MB due to really poor implements in the past and I don't want games to be blurry as fuck or anything but a large part of what makes Ratchet or Spiderman look as good as it does is OBMB.

Is this set in the Life is Strange universe?

Holy shit yes thats exactly what this looks like, which again looks subpar because of no OB motion blur.

City and environment looks super empty, btw I liked the first 3 Saint's Row, but everything I've seen from this one seems out of place. I don't think it will flop at Agents of Mayhem level, but I think it'll still flop very hard.

Family oriented? 😂

The hilarious thing is that probably does not refer to the nuclear family, that will have to be erased probably because its too problematic. Or even worse they will promote being single because its cooler to just be alone because a relationship/family is really hard work.

I can't wait for the metric fuck ton of depressed, alone people we'll have to deal with in the near future due to this sort of crap. Life is hard you have to work at it and sometimes you have sacrifice your time/dreams for your spouse/kids. Increasingly modern media is about rejecting that and saying "I'll do whats best for ME above all else" its going to be such a big wake up call for some down the line.

You can already see people who got in early on the madness and they are writing articles about how alone and unliked they are. Plus, through retail work, I know some teenagers with younger parents whose parents split up for selfish shit like that and the one who broke up the family is basically having a mental breakdown, but this will be worse than that even.

Steve Watts got a hands-off preview of the new Saints Row during Gamescom 2021. Learn more about what he got to see, and what he learned from a Q&A.

The new Saints Row, announced at Gamescom, is a total reboot for the series--not just in setting and characters but in tone. While it looks primed to carry forward the same playfully zany spirit as its predecessors, the new game--simply called Saints Row--is clearly taking a step back and allowing developer Volition some breathing room without having to constantly top itself with ever-expanding wacky hijinks.

So their ideas of bringing new faces into the mix to give them a fresh perspective, was to go to bumble and literally recruit 20 millennial and gen x-ers to let them run the show?

I love when he headshot a chick with a pistol and the only reaction is a weak moan and a bit of blood with the chick still standing :ROFLMAO:

he does the same with a fucking shotgun and the reaction is the same...this is ps1 tier...

I hope that these are just placeholder animations...

Edit: actually, i'm playing the remaster during these days and the shooting is better

God the old funhaus playthrough of this was so funny years ago. You're right, does remind me of it too.

Gameplay looks fun, that kind of game is sorely missed.

The characters though my God, the nerve of them to say the game has humour when I haven't seen one thing that wasn't cringe.

Also lol at probably a 95% white studio designing 2 black people, a Hispanic and an Asian as their main characters. Definitely not ticking any quotas there.

The problem with all of this is that they are clearly targeting the game at Gen Z. Now that’s fine. You should always have an idea of who your audience is (clearly not most on GAF).

But Gen Z are all playing Fortnite, Apex, etc.

Where do they think they’re audience is coming from for this?

As somebody said here, I think the problem is not the game, but that we are not the target audience. I don't play Fornite, Apex, I play only single player games and I'm 47, so this game looks ultra unappealing to me, but I understand it's because I'm not the target.

I feel the same with a lot of movies today. Take as an example Ghostbusters. The target of the old movies was probably people like me, but the target of the new one is probably 20 years younger than me. So I will watch it but maybe I won't connect with the movie in the same way I connected with the old ones at the time.

I think we make a mistake evaluating all the games (or any product) as if we were the target audience.
