lmao
If not for Esposito mention I would think this is for Horizon Zero Dawn.

You don’t really need reviews for this series. It’s far cry, same ol shit in barely different wrapping every time. Personally I think I’m burned out on the formula but I’m considering a ubi+ sub to play for 15 bucks
Agree. I’ll just wait for it used on eBay for 20-25

Kind of a down on these reviews as an old school friend was heavily involved in this game and he is a really great guy, will still purchase to show support. The last game he was involved in was AC Odyssey which I think is great fun and I'm really enjoying post Series X patch so had big hopes for this one.

Must of been tough to work on in lockdown though. :/

Well, if it's any consolation, my sense is that the game wasn't executed poorly, it just doesn't feel novel or original after 6 iterations. So unless your friend was in charge of creative direction he probably has nothing to be ashamed about. Also the game will probably still sell ok so there's that.

Yeah, I just....nothing about this looked anything more than average....and it seems that is what has played out.

I did actually love Far Cry 5 (that Dan Roamer soundtrack does not get NEAR the recognition it deserves for being some of the best in gaming). But this...just....I can't do any more souless open world romps running from quest marker to quest marker. Just can't do it.

My review in Spanish (8.8): https://www.pcmrace.com/2021/10/06/far-cry-6-review/

"With significant gunplay improvements and changes to the variety and pace of secondary objectives, Far Cry 6 is not only one of the best in the series, but also a great open-world shooter. Even more so if you play it in co-op and have the right PC to enjoy it . 💥"

Also updated my screenshot and video gallery with a 4K vs FSR comparison video and a couple 4K Vs FSR pics and all its presets (Ultra Quality, Quality, Balanced, Performance): https://www.pcmrace.com/2021/10/04/...os-de-far-cry-6-en-4k-con-detalles-al-maximo/

Oh boy, I was rolling my eyes at this thinking "Why the hell would you swap between English and Spanish words mid sentence!" I also thought it was a trope; wasn't aware it was something done outside of movies and games.
Swapping between Spanish and English is very common, at least in my experience. I work with 3 Cuban girls, 1 Dominican and 1 from Puerto Rico and we swap like crazy mid sentence every time we talk. I obviously don't swap if I know the person doesn't speak the other language. It could still be a trope, I don't pretend to speak for every Latin/Hispanic person but here in Miami it's very common and Cubans do it a lot. And Yara is supposed to be a "fictional Cuba" at least that's what reviews say.

Also real quick.
When I test I not only run the benchmark if available, but I try to find like for like situations in battles LATER in the game.
Three reasons.
1 Save game efficiency and trash cleaning testing. Does it bloat, are loads longer, streaming issues
2 Benchmarks in-game are notoriously not reflective of real-world hurt in-game(far cry 6 for instance lol)
3. Testing of settings in real-world vastly change compared to the benchmark due to the above reasons but also something as easily pointed out as a long draw distance foliage system with AA and shadow distance versus a momentary spot in the benchmarks.

While not perfect, it's also not too hard and I keep seeing people testing the first cutscene of a fucking game and its like...DUDE what?

The game triggered Vice so hard they had to pull the “morally bankrupt” card.

From vice...

"This isn’t a review of ‘Far Cry 6’ because, honestly, I can’t play this shit anymore. I just can’t do it."

"I made it five hours into Far Cry 6 before I hit Alt+F4 and walked away. "

I never thought gaming "journalism" could sink any lower than it already had.

Being that it's a Ubisoft game, it'll almost assuredly be 50% off in less than 2 months. I'll pick it up then and play it with a buddy.

Been trying to teach myself Spanish, so reading reviews in Spanish has actually helped me quite a bit! Thanks for posting.

I live in Miami and I am constantly having conversations with south Americans that slip into Spanish mid-sentence without realizing that I stopped being able to understand them. I've picked up some common words which are almost always used in Spanish but the switching is so natural for almost all of central America. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that combining the 2 languages fluidly is more common than using either of them solo at this point.

The reviewer mentions being born in latin America but I have to assume they moved to the US as a young child and have never been back. I spent 5 weeks in buenos aires and it's just as common there.

The only thing Ubisoft made I genuinely enjoyed was Mario + Rabbits and I’m looking forward to it’s sequel.

Rest of their games feels like made in factory.

For example my friends and I switch between Spanish and English on the fly mid sentence all the fucking time, so does most Cubans I know, so that's not a trope. They also wanted the game to be uber political. Polygon just being Polygon.

All the time. Hell, in Texas, they call this "Tex-Mex" as it is so common.

Who really gives a shit about UbiShovewlare these days?

They offer a reliable product. You know what you're getting, and if you enjoy that thing, well, it seems pretty straightforward. These games sell well so a lot of folks enjoy playing them. Or some people get their kicks shitting in threads about games they don't play and don't care about.

It`s so edgy to shit on Ubisoft

But don`t miss out on some of the classics like

Rayman Legends,
Far Cry Blood Dragon,
Valiant Hearts,
Child of Light

I like Far Cry's open world rhythm. Explore, clear bases, open the map, move the story forward, repeat. It does get old after a while, but I skipped #5 so I'm ready for this. Also looking forward to Giancarlo Esposito hamming it up.

You're right. I'm fucking stupid to keep trying Assassin's Creed 15 or Watch Dogs Infinity or Far Cry 3.1415 or any other bullshit they spew out

It is my fault, you're right

So played a few minutes but my VPN crapped out on me. I'm really digging the setting. Much better than that nonsense in FC 5. It is early but I think I'm really going to enjoy this.

Why are you even here then?

Have you not ever been around Spanish speaking people that are bi-lingual?

Child of Light
I actually played that game and it isn’t bad but as someone who plays lots of JRPG, there is just MUCH better choices out there.

I especially hate how they talk in Child of Light, it became really annoying and obnoxious to me.

My only critique so far is that female DANI looks like she's about to fall asleep. That's it. If a game formula works you don't change it. Far Cry formula works and this is the best it has worked if you ask me.

. . .I legit feel for game journos who can look at this game and not find any fun are just sad. Is there any meaningful message in the game or are you going to come away with a profound understanding of life. . .nope. Are you going to have a rollicking good time putting two between the eyes of dickbag soldiers who are distracted by your wildly unstealthy gator friend all set to a great South American soundtrack - absolutely.
