Their ecosystem is seamless and works like a snap.
They finally started heavily investing in portfolio. Like, do you not actually sit down for a second and analyze how much Xbox changed next-gen landscape by investing in Zenimax and other studios?
Don't you see how Sony looked at Xbox and they got even more aggressive at investing studios, PS plus and reportedly Game pass competitor? Meanwhile Phil gonna suck MS moneys from Satya Nadella to compete even stronger?

You seem to think MS don't know about the "loophole" by saying it's been available for so long it sort of implies you know they do. They are willing to invest in the service, that's all there is to it.
We don't know what the retention rate is, I would suspect it's good if they let the offers keep running.
I'm a PC owner, I get to play on Windows a Microsoft platform and Xbox a Microsoft platform, I see that as a good thing.
You said first party games released since launch, how can they come out before the console? The fact they appeared on a Microsoft platform earlier doesn't matter to new console owners.
Psychonauts 2 still came out on Xbox, the best console versions resolution and framerate wise were on Series consoles, the fact there were inferior versions on a other platform doesn't change the fact it was a first party game on the console.

Sure. GotG doesn’t have Ray tracing on s. Halo campaign doesn’t have 120fps on s. Both games have these features are available on the lead consoles they released on. Experience altered.

Has nothing to do with cooking the books. Has to do with PR speak. Record numbers could mean anything. More than likely they are talking about revenue for the division, yet again, not units sold. Especially since when we do get numbers from trackers, there's nothing record breaking about them.
And you can't tell me there are not any shareholders who want to know actual profits and sub counts, when last gen some were suggesting they drop the division when the new CEO came onboard. MS is only going to give them what they are required to.

Point is your save works across the systems so the games are gameplay complete and always will be.

Neither Raytracing nor 120fps defines next-gen tho. Those features simply add up on a base, fundamental experience.
- Rendering complex worlds with tons of NPC and interactive open world physics coz of 16 thread CPU.
- Implementing SSD-powered gameplay mechanics.
These do define next-gen.
Time will come when you, or someone as skeptical as you launch Fable on Series S and walk into ridiculously detailed, complex and interactive town where developers will not be limited for realizing their creative freedom fully.
There may not be raytracing. But it won't matter. Your jaw will be on floor anyways.

I'm an investor in Microsoft and I want numbers so of course some shareholders want numbers. LOL. Anyone can go buy a share of stock of MSFT for $330 and call themselves an investor. What matters is enough investors don't care.
Every company looks at numbers to spin it in a positive way to say they are the best or they're doing record numbers, etc. Yeah, it could be they talk about record numbers, but aren't necessarily saying console sales. They aren't lying. They're just framing it in a way to make themselves look good. It's PR. Microsoft does it. Sony does it. Nintendo does it. Who cares?

I have gamepass it doesn't expand anything for me, 99% of the stuff on there is either old games I've already played or filler indie games that most people couldn't care less about.
Series S is somehow a good thing because of cross gen? Why not just keep the One X in production until you decide to drop the old stuff completely? I mean yeah the CPU is better but the GPU is more advanced in some ways but in others it's still weaker.
Smart Delivery cracks me up, all it's doing is putting the version of the game you bought into your console, you can do that now on PS5 you just choose which one to download. It would be nice if it did it automatically for you but that's not some game changer.
I'm sorry but most people still don't play games older than the previous gen, the talk about legacy BC from the 360 and original xbox is just that, talk. Most of those games are an ugly mess unless they got the "4K" love and most of them do not have that improvement. It's cool to have it but the world doesn't end without it either, I play PS4 games on my PS5 but couldn't care less about playing anything from the PS3 and I play some Xbox one games on my Series X but other than the witcher 2 and RDR I don't really care about 360 games at this point either. The ones I loved when they were new don't hold up well today when it comes to gameplay.

I'll go ahead and throw some words into the ether on this. Just because you can use the $1 conversion for 3yrs does not equate to everyone doing that. In reality, probably a small subset of users are doing that. Hell, I'm a huge Xbox fan and I only added an additional 1yr card before converting. When you look at Amazon and see the #1 Gold/PSN card is the higher priced monthly option, you get the idea that most aren't going to buy 3yrs of gold to get this deal in the first place.
