Tried one BTB and disconnected halfway through the match. Got a message about dedicated server not responding. Only happened this once.

Because the AR is a skilless weapon made to accomondate casual players. The sidekick and commando have bloom and are random af. Its the logical choice

I read that they only require a negative test, unless he got his first jab in the last 1-2 weeks that's when he said he wasn't vaccinated on twitch

Yeah they have a BTB-issues message right on the main news screen in-game. Basically says they tried some stuff, dont know whats causing it and will be fixed after the Holidays.
BTB works like 10% of the time for me since the official launch on Dec 4th, when it worked with zero issues before that. Weird.

Another Tuesday, another fresh week for Halo. New Winter Contingency event is now live with some cool rewards if you log-in and play daily. That's awesome.
What's not awesome is the weekly ultimate reward which is a nameplate duplicate from 2-3 weeks ago. I missed the last week's weekly reward, I much rather have that one instead. They should give us ability to swap weekly rewards as I have no reason to grind challenges now.
Cat Ears Helmet attachment is for purchase in the store. I'm definitely getting that one. Meow!

the weekly reward is not a duplicate. last time it was a name plate icon, now it's a weapon icon.
one of the fucked up ways this game is monetized is that everything is sold/unlocked multiple times for different things. so the icon for your name plate can not be used as the icon on your weapon... and neither can be used as the icon on your armor... all are separated despite being exactly identical and in old Halos you had 1 icon for everything which you could also create yourself from multiple color and shape options

I agree, the system with emblems is confusing and anti-costumer. They have unlimited potential to monetize elsewhere, emblems should be bundled together.
Hey 343, bundle emblems and if you want to earn some extra $$$ just release things like:
- classic sound effects packs for weapons, shield recharge etc.
- classic weapon models
- classic UI layouts (please)
- AI voices of classic characters like Sgt Johnson or 343 Guilty Spark
- custom before-during-victory/defeat music themes for MP matches
- custom before match animations
- custom voices for your spartan (I want to sound like Japanese anime girl to match my new cat ears helmet attachment!)

Yup, you get a new unlock from the event pass after your first match each day, pretty sure your don't even have to win.

Something needs to be done about ranked progression. I’m almost diamond 5 but just cannot seem to progress at all. Every match I win I get nothing, but if I lose I lose like 25% of the level. Takes me like 4 wins to get that back, then another loss takes it all away.
Can’t stop playing though, so good. I wish they’d ditch the radar across the entire MP though, it’s so much better without it.

I'm cool with Radar for QP as you need something for the casuals to start with. Ranked is for the sweats where I view QP for learning/experimenting.
I don't really play Ranked much as I'm not usually mic'd up unless playing with friend's in a fireteam and success in ranked is so dependent upon good comms.
All of the modes are fun although CTF without comms can be brutal.

Radar has been a Halo thing since day one. I hate no radar. Im not talking to some random assclowns over the mic just to know where people are. Thats some MLG nerd shit.
Besides, you can use the radar to your advantage by disappearing from it - its a skill set and entire gameplay that vanishes when radar is gone. No radar also gives a big advantage to those who use the fishlense FOV. Im eagerly awaiting BR starts in "normal" mode - at least some of the time.

I get why radar is there, but I actually think it can also be a detriment to casuals since they’re sprinting around showing on radar all the time.

My boy is rocking the xmas skins (armour and assault rifle) and they look pretty good. Tomorrow we will both unlock the sidekick skin which looks great too.

I'm p excited for the sidekick skin. It's the best gun in the game and any way to pimp it is fine by me. I've been using the skin from the hcs but will rock the peppermint skin tomorrow

Also seen people with the NERF skins on and realised if you buy the halo Infinite NERF guns you get the skin for that weapon.
So just ordered the AR and Bulldog Nerf guns for the skins xD

Have you tried the target framerate in the settings? I think it does DRS to try to keep it up, but I found it to be pretty good without compromising much on the visuals...resolution scaling is hardly noticeable to me, but framerate drops definitely are.
