Just 1 day of availability has done them wonders.

Last time I saw you can buy Series X on MS's Canada site direct from them.

Problem is you are forced into a bundle buying a digital game and an extra controller, so you'll end up paying $700 or more depending on what bundle stuff you buy.

They've probably improved it by now but I remember when the consoles launched, if you weren't in the pre order window, if you placed an order for the console after the console had launched, you would need to wait a month or more before MS would start shipping out consoles.

I was able to get in that, but fortunately I was also able to secure one of the 3 AM stock drops from Best Buy so canceled the MS store order when I picked it up from BB.

Link for me to read and try to pull out information later: https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/bownr2mj1m/PlayStation and Xbox Purchase Interest August 6-7, 2020 | RealTime.pdf

It was from before the console launch.

Another link for me to read: https://yougov.co.uk/topics/technol...oppers-cant-next-gen-console-they-want-what-w

In the United States, roughly half of consumers who indicated it has been harder for them to purchase their first choice of gaming console say they will seek out an alternative product (52%). In Great Britain, that number is higher at 63%.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Switch still taking first place in March but Xbox should be comfortably second place and the best thing is that people who want to buy the console had higher chances to get their preferred console.

If the demand was low, MS wouldn't have made that much xbox consoles.
And it wouldn't have sold out on Amazon too.

There are 50m-55m xbox users. And so far, there is 12m figure sold that we know. There are 38m-43m that still don't have xsx-xss.
We can't assume that all of them will get an Xbox Series though. Likewise we can't assume that all Series owners so far had owned an XB1 in the past.

The idea that having products available for sale equals the ability to facilitate MORE sales, is a foreign concept for some. You don't want to be sold out at this stage, because anytime you are sold out you are leaving potential sales on the table. If you can produce enough product to satiate demand on an ongoing basis, you are sitting on top of the world (selling the maximum number of units you possibly could).

I would say first place switch units, xbox first place revenue

Great that people can get consoles at last, it's going to give Gamepass numbers a boost as well, I wonder if they can hit 30 million before Starfield launches.

Probably not *before* Starfield as there's nothing really big from first party between now and then (that we know of).

But Starfield itself might be a catalyst for a nice uptick.

I was at Best Buy earlier today and saw two people picking up PS5s. Hopefully things are improving all around.

Why do you think that? Wasn't Xbox on the top of the Amazon list?

Based on how long the systems were in stock, I would expect Xbox to have the most sales in March. Like I said, it's either a massive stock drop that will show up with large numbers, or demand is down because of the ridiculous inflationary pressures on people right now.

Let's not forget MS tends to backload their yearly releases. This time last year did we have a release date or even a trailer for Forza Horizon 5? It went on to win game of the year and was the highest rated game on consoles last year. There is an excellent chance there will be plenty of reasons to join the Xbox ecosystem outside of Starfield. It's good to see a stark change from last generation, competition is good.

The only thing I can think of is xbox beating its march record including the 360
Weird if that's the thing that prompts a vague as fuck tweet like that. It's not like the Xbox is crashing and burning. It's selling pretty good and generally faster than any previous Xbox console.

Props to MS for securing manufacturing. They need customers to sell game pass to and to establish themselves this gen. The series X is dope and they deserve the sales.

Ps5 is awesome too and hopefully Sony can sort their manufacturing out too.

There's slightly more demand for PS5s, and Microsoft put in the money and time to get those consoles manufacture. Simple.

Good for them. It actually prompted me to purchase a Series X. Microsoft has made a lot of excellent moves this generation. The 'exclusives' kind of suck, but everything else is nice.

Why their are more Xbox series X's available than ps5's
Seems the initial demand is filled and the supply is able to cope with the remaining buyers.
PS5 seems to need a while until it reaches the same stage :pie_eyeroll:
