Yup.
Only purists who buy all their media hate sub plans. And only warriors who want their brand dominating want gimped services. Competition brings out value and deals. It goes for every industry out there, except some game warriors would rather have one company and shit deals and options.
By the looks of whats offered the PS plans seem good. For me, I would just do the mid tier plan, but when you got recent games on it and UBI+, the deal gets better.

While I enjoyed fh5 for a while, it's not great, was released with serious issues and is basically a map pack for the previous game. Halo isn't great either lets be honest.
Yet the ps service comes with 2 actual goty winners for an opening gambit.

Digital PS1 and PSP games bought in a Vita (or in PS1 or PS3) will be downloadable and playable at no extra cost on PS4 and PS5. Without needing to buy them again or having a sub.
If they get added to the PS4 and PS5 store, yes. If not added, I don't know.

So you can purchase these game if your not on PS+, and you don't have to repurchase them if you had in the past? That's good, especially considering the new features (rewind, save anywhere, etc).
But, the list of retro games is weak so far. I hope they fill it out faster than Nintendo has with their service.

In an unrelated question, does anyone know if the downloaded version will get removed when/if they take them off the sub or does it remain indefinitely like psn + free games?

I don't think so - there is nothing on this list of partial titles that is remotely new. Where are the games like Sniper Elite 5, Trek to Yomi, etc. It would be nice if Sony did the same thing - third party day one releases because they won't do it for their own games.

Yes, the PS3 will only be streamed. Due to hardware limitations PS4 and PS5 can't properly (full performance, no bugs, including games that take full advantage of its hardware) emulate PS3 according to both a PS3 engine programmer from Insomniac & ICE Team and the programmer of the best PS3 emulator.
The list included in the PS Blog includes only some of the around 700 games that will be available at launch. There will be more PS1, PSP and PS2 games available day one. In addition to remasters and remakes of PS1, PSP and PS2 games there will be also PSOne Classics, PSP Classics and PS2 Classics.
Regarding the PS1 and PSP ones, unlike the case of Nintendo if you bought them digitally on PSP, Vita or PS3 you'll be able to download and play them for free in PS4 or PS5 without needing to buy them again or without needing to have any sub. They expanded the crossbuy of these digital PS1 & PSP to PSP, Vita, PS3, PS4 and PS5.
All PS+ and PS Now games always have been also available in the PSN store to purchase. So yes, if desired you'll be able to buy digitally these PS1, PS2 and PSP games on PS4 or PS5.
The list of games included will be different for each region and they will show the full list for each region as they keep releasing in each place. Next week they release it in Asia (excluding Japan) so it's the first place we'll see a full list. Regarding retro games many western ones weren't released in Asia outside Japan which I assume these games won't be there for them.

To people who are assuming these are all the games, remember that Jim Ryan said that over 200 studios and developers have put their content on PS+. This list hardly even makes half of that list.
Be patient, and more games will be revealed. Notice how there are no games from Square Enix or EA or Devolver Digital. Many publishers would be hesitant in revealing their games at this stage because that would affect their game sales for the next 30 days.
