I doubt it. Probably not worth the effort for SE to port it over unless MS pays a good amount to have it on Game Pass. But assuming Part II is also a PS5 exclusive (with a later PC release), it would be awkward for Xbox to only have Part 1 available while the rest of the world is playing Part 2. Then again, they made a big deal about getting Yakuza ports that were years old, so I wouldn't put it past them.

But this is exactly what happened with the late tomb raider playstation release. No one gived a fuck anymore.

I wish I didn’t play it on PS4 recently. Would of loved to of played it on my series x for the first time. The game is ridiculously overrated IMO. The OG is my goat and this I found disappointing overall. Graphics were great though. And some of the boss battles were too.

I would be surprised if they port this game to xbox.
But then again, MS likes to bend over for these Japanese devs.
I would expect them to pay huge cash for gamepass, with dlc included.
It's typical MS play for these stuff.

Persona would be much better get than FF.

Ff isn't that much a bigger seller for xbox, since it's skips the platform. Its missing the mmo version, which is still not on the console.
When you have situation like that, users would undoubtedly get irritated from these behaviors.

I mean ff16 is timed exclusives, with maybe potential longer, if ff7r anything to go by.

FFVIIR on Xbox could happen but I don't think it'll be soon. I'm pretty sure Sony extended the exclusivity with SE for intergrade, but I don't know for how long.

Persona 5 isn't happening.

A game's sales don't really matter that much as to what ongoing discussion it gets. Pre-Elden Ring Souls games did like 5 million in a couple years if lucky, and had tons of discourse well after release because the community was dedicated.

Conversely look at the level of ongoing talk with previous year versions of Madden or even COD; they don't have discourse that lasts very much at all despite selling millions of copies easily. So sales as a metric to measure game discussion long-term isn't a very good one.

You can thank Microsoft for FFXIV skipping Xbox. Square wanted to years ago, but Microsoft refused crossplay. Meanwhile, Sony were cool with it, so the game stayed PlayStation console-exclusive.

Now that it's blown up in popularity (party due to waning popularity of World of Warcraft), Square-Enix haven't quite had the resources to port the game to Xbox as they've been busy buffing up their servers and adding new content. So it could still come to Xbox in the future. However, you can't excuse Xbox management at the time for being the ones who created this situation with FF XIV; given it's come out what other opportunities they turned down, this one falls on them too.

Both of those were fighting games, FFIW. Historically fighting games as a genre have done better on Xbox than JRPGs, even anime fighters somewhat, so it made sense to bring those particular Persona games to the platform without GamePass in the equation.

At one point the 360 was synonymous with fighting games. Too bad Microsoft failed to capitalize on that whatsoever and basically handed that genre to Sony, who are now solidifying their association with it this generation.

Which was the reason I hated them, but thanks to Game pass, C#, typescript and vscode they won me. Sony has nothing of that lol, if anything, one can argue that Microsoft acquiring Bethesda and Activision was in response to Sony moneyhats

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFVIIR for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games or FFVIIR Part 2/3/4/5/6/7. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFVIIR for XSX and announced FFVIIR will remain exclusive to Playstation or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I played this on PS4, but if it does come to Series X I'll probably double dip to play Intergrade since I don't have a PS5 and likely won't pick one up for a couple more years.

Xbox. I was big into PlayStation before, but I converted. I don’t really want to buy a second console after my XSX, so I’ll have to wait and see if this game comes to the X. If not, then I guess I’m not playing it. 🤣

They'd make that money back to the people who end up getting PS4 or PS5 because of it.

1. Most of the FF base is on PS.
2. How many who start FFVII remake Part 1 on PS4 or PS5, will really end it on Switch?
3.A small amount of people are waiting for FFVII remake to go else where, if they are massive fans of FF, they are not waiting years for this shit, they are there within weeks of release.


Sound deal if you ask me.

How many of Sony's first party's are to the level of a FFVII remake though? So Sony is still making first party games, they are also paying for deals like this as well. ie both.
