I am sure this will be a stellar remake, if handled with the right care. However, from the trailer, you can sense there will be changes and with changes, comes cut content.

I also find it rather odd how people heavily bashed the RE3 remake upon release, and one of the things majorly cast up all of the time is the cut content. However, if people suddenly forgot, the RE2 remake was very much guilty of doing the same thing. Even the story was so different. Ada for example, never had a coat or a scanning device in the original. They cut out enemy types such as the crows, the spiders, and the original plants.

The 'B' scenario!? WHAT B SCENARIO? You know?

Resident Evil 4 is the best 3d game I've played honestly. I think it's a perfect game and I honestly feel they need to change very little. We will see

I hope there will be a RE 5 remake someday. It would be so easy for them to fix all the complaints people had with Sheeva and it could potentially be the best RE of all time.
Pretty much. And they could take back the incredibly stupid story path they started to take with the series from 5 on. Keep it small again. There is no need for this global threat crap they wrote themselves into.

I just think it would be so funny if chainsaw guy was scripted and periodically showed up. For the sake of the game I hope not.

Oh yeah i forgot about that.
Sjws hate RE5....
Well I mean, America has always had a visceral reaction to the image of a white guy mowing down black people. Had the game remained true to its roots of *less is more* when it comes to the gunplay, I don’t think even the most bleeding of hearts would’ve had much to say. But the very first videos we saw of RE5 were of Chris kicking absolute ass and the enemies just happened to be black.

I was very late to the party on Resident Evil as a series, and only played RE4 for the first time a couple years ago on PC. Not really a big fan, I much prefer the puzzle/survival aspects of RE1, 2, and Code Veronica (god I wish they would remake Veronica)

but I'm looking forward to playing this and giving it another chance, they always do an amazing job with these remakes.

I'm excited about this almost solely because it does away with the fucking invincible big bad that chases you around in both RE2 and RE3.

I despise Mr. X and Nemesis.
They gave the chasing role that Nemesis played in RE3 to Mr. X in the new RE2 which I thought was an odd decision. I remember in RE2, there was only one scenario where he was persistent but maybe my memory is off.

Persistent? He does a jump scare like 3 times in the B scenario in the original RE2.

So Nemesis, Mr. X, Dimitrescu, and now Mendez? Impervious stalker enemy is a spicy thing to throw into the mix used sparingly. Too much and it becomes an expected grindy spot most speed runners and repeat players will dread. Make Verdugo a stalker, and limit it to the extended sewer level. Perfect. Brief, punctual, there and gone.

RE4 was no stranger to switch ups. Village sieges, cabin sieges, mine cart shooter, puzzle boss, QTE Boss fight, boat combat, inventory tetris. I mean, it was a game spinning multiple plates, exceptionally, but what made it so brilliant was the pacing, the dichotomy between task a and task b. The length or brevity of a certain encounter or area. It was a game where you were hardly ever doing the same thing in the same place twice. Keep that up, REmake.

Any word on PC VR? I just got an oculus and was sorely tempted to buy RE4 (again) but I can wait for this instead if PC VR is in.

No word on PCVR. There was a message about PSVR2 content in the works, but it was oddly worded at the end of the original trailer.

What complaints with Sheeva?
The general complaint is that her companion A.I. was atrocious.

Regarding that I agree, but I also think she was an underwritten character who you could tell felt like a later addition in development, because of how little focus she had in any story content to the point of being almost non-existent in the most impactful and emotional scenes. They could fix that error by writing her into the story better and giving her a separate motivational plot point besides 'help Chris'. Maybe make her ex-umbrella or something, I'm not sure. Or make her talk more about how Wesker's company came into town under the pretense of wanting to help and ultimately decimated her country into the ground with a killer virus, and that can be more of a key factor as to why she also wants to see things to the end.

- Luis gets an expanded storyline with flashbacks and also some scenes with his Grandpa.

- Salazar only has one Verdugo protecting him this time and he is a stalker in the castle, you can down him but you can't kill him because later in the game he gets combined with Salazar.
So, the guys ruined one of the best and harder boss fight ever..

I still say Capcom did us dirty by not doing a CV remake, first. Not that they would likely include every enemy, etc, anyway.

Cutting content is the new normal for Capcom.

I don't know what it is with Resident Evil fanboys in particular, but there's just no getting through to morons like that. For example, I made a thread on devilmaycry.org about all the things Capcom has copied. For some reason, you have to sign in on there to see embedded YouTube videos and links. But basically, I included significant proof to show them that Capcom rips off other games, over and over again, unapologetically. Then they choose to defend Capcom regardless.

Honestly, though. It's pointless.

"Ashley no longer have an armor, and her pop star costume has been reworked to be less revealing"

Sounds legit in today's world...
