Showcase is definitely coming. Sony is trolling. Sony is basically breaking down everything into little groups instead of a big amazing show like they used to do. They did 3rd party thing around e3 time. They did a mostly Japan presentation at this state of play. They have yet to show off their first party showcase. It will come soon. Maybe with some third party surprises. Definitely have new ip or so in the works. They have to many studios with multiple teams to not have new things. When or where will they show them I have no clue.

Or they got lucky and covid didn't affect teams with stuff close to release.

Maybe this is where we see the Covid effect on them as everyone else finally finishes games they started.

The further along in development the less covid affected your teams as you weren't trying to compile gigs of new code on top of bug fixes

Trams early in the process, got fucked way more.

Yesterdays show was a random day before announced show and it ended up being better than anything else this year besides Sonys own previous State of Play. Thats crazy.

True. I think thats why this format makes sense.

It allows for them to be the only ones talked about for a while instead of a bunch of other projects. So I think it was good timing.

They are likely holding a shit back to wait for better timing, I expect us to get Spiderman 2 info after God Of War releases and they are done with its marketing campaign.

If this was true why hold it a day before TGS?

They want to associate themselves with it without paying the fee to go in.

They could have done it in August or November. The dates for release don't change.

They wanted the TGS audience without doing anything.

I guess it's safe to say there wont be a Sony showcase this year.

Quite incredible. They skip E3 and now they wont even do a shitty September 40 minute show like theyve done the last two years.

Sony has just been killing it this gen despite all the negative and PR losses and it seem like Jim Ryan just doesn't care about that stuff at all.

They ain't worried. Competition from xbox still isn't strong enough. Nothing has actually come from the acquisitions yet. Sony are coasting at the moment and obviously don't feel the need to really do anything.

There's still plenty of time for them to hold a showcase this year. The advantage of doing their own thing and not announcing it months in advance is they can be flexible about which day they do it.

There's ample evidence that something is coming and October seems to be it

Im in a mindset that It doesnt matter anymore...
The games coming out is far away anyway, might as well not get hyped for something Im going too lose steam WANTING by the time it comes out... and I doubt we get any "Shadow releases".

What stage of "Acceptence" am I at now?:messenger_8ball:

Dont accept this.

It was rumoured that Bend were working on a open world stealth game based on the Decima Engine.

Really curious to see what they cook up, say what you want about Days Gone but it's one of the best looking UE4 games in the past gen. Those devs are super talented from a technical standpoint.

Its not really a rumor, they are.

Don’t forget.

https://www.gematsu.com/2022/09/nex...ailer-likely-due-out-in-october-says-producer

And there was another new insider pop-up recently.

I'm skeptical.

A lot of people were expecting a Sony showcase in September which is not happening now, so the next best bet would be October.

We already know it's been rumoured and leaked by some reliable people (like MillieA) that Spider-man 2 is going to be shown soon.

Seem's like good guesswork to me rather than a legitimate leak.

There is a Resident Evil Showcase in October, which pretty much confirms there will be somewhat important stuff that month:
https://www.gamesradar.com/resident...he-resident-evil-showcase-returns-in-october/

So they could show some stuff at the Sony event (I assume it will be a State of Play, not a showcase) like the first RE4R proper gameplay trailer on the first RE4R PSVR2 footage and later to expand it on the RE Showcase event.

The could drop there a GoWR launch trailer, some PSVR2 stuff like more games announced, its date and price.

Plus also 2023 is almost here, so the first Spider-Man 2 trailer could be shown there.

A random Tuesday State of Play was better than almost every other gaming even this year,I think they set expectations for the full showcase a little too high now lol.

I was so hyped for it, now... not so much.

The "EYE weapon wheel" is the only way to change weapon and over to your gadgets, they are NOT on your "PERSON" that you have to pull out and use with your arms... which is a shame, cause why not? It works great on other VR games on other systems.
And you'll not be doing manual reloads with the weapons like other VR shooters... you'll press a reload button and watch as the animations plays out;reloading the gun, while you watch.
So unsatasfying, VR has such a great potential and they are wasting it with these choices!
I can only understand having SET ANIMATIONS for reloads... for BALANCING reasons! But its such a waste!!
So many VR games have manual reload and its so fun too deal with when having a firefight and just adds to the realisme.
