Took me 44 hours to "finish".

Great game, a few bugs (getting stuck in walls) and one crash but I want more. Hope they do a new game. Also wouldn't mind a TV series if it's done right.

does anyone know how to start the ps exclusive quest
You can start it as soon as winter starts. There is a house elf near a run down shack very close to the broom shop.

I guess that is the end of the line for the train tracks. Does the train run on the map? They had it in the intro.
I think it is only in certain missions. Like the intro and
the mission where you rescue the hippogriff.

Insert joke about your character being so dumb they got held back in school for so long that they got grey hair before they finally passed.

PC can unlock it through a simple change apparently, it’s already sitting there in the files.
Ah. So the "DLC" only unlocks it. Why do they do that? Just make it a complete DLC so people can't hack it in.

It was also like that in that Control game. You could use a hex editor and unlock all the PlayStation content.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Man, why can't they just have a control scheme like the Ace Combat games for the flying. I mean, like just let me control elevation with the left stick as well.

Having just elevation on the right stick is needlessly complex. I keep fiddling with just the left one expecting to have control like any game with flying mechanics.

I agree. Just not feel natural with elevation on the right stick.

I just wish the PC version supported DualSense. It has been reported as a bug.
I've got DS5 haptic vibrations working on PC. It's really good. You need to play with the controller wired and you need to turn off any type of DS4Windows and you also need to turn off Playstation Configuration Support in Steam Big Picture mode and make sure the Enable Steam Input is set under the the game (right click on the game, properties > CONTROLLER).

If problems persist you can delete this file and relaunch the game. ...\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\pc_info.json

Been so addicted to playing this since I picked it up. I've had a few nights off from work cuz I'm transferring to a new location, but I gotta start tomorrow night, so it's gonna suck not staying home all day playing this lol

My game time has about 21 hours, but man...I wish I had chosen Slytherin as my house. Just the characters I prefer interacting with, and the way I'm playing kinda makes me wish I had gone that way.

10 hours in and my excitement levels are starting to decline.

It has a nice world and the exploration is fun but everything else is just standard open world gameplay mechanics. Sidequest dialogue is mostly trash and the story so far isn't very interesting either. Enjoyable enough for me to keep going but nothing special.

I feel like if this had a different setting and was published by Ubisoft, it would get a ton of hate.

Hrrrm.. The Ravenclaw exclusive quest was kinda sucky compared to what I hear about the other houses.
I didn't want to play through the game 4 times to see them all so I just read about them on a web page. They are all not super good, even the Hufflepuff one where you go to Azkaban.

Yeah. I was expecting more house exclusive stuff. Are there any quests with the Grey Lady? Need some more ghost shenanigans.

One area they dropped the ball imo

It could have had superb replayability if they had put more time into making the houses different.

Still, what they have done with this gameworld is mindblowing even though it has a few things to improve on for the inevitable sequel

Im only 5 hours in and the initial magic has already worn off. cant do story quests because its level 20 and im forced to do side quests which are shit.

At least hogwarts is full of puzzles and secrets but the open world is very ubisofty and the story doesnt seem to have the same production values as Sony games.

What a bunch of nonsense. Sony games 😂 Yeah nice walk and talk games. Maybe dont railroad the main story, do some sidequests.

Theres also the room of requirement, 5 hours in you havent seen anything. How can you judge the story on 5 hours lmao.

Im about 30 hours in and only lvl 22

Hm, this is odd. I never seen any main quest with requirements higher than my current level. They were actually significantly lower. I had only one quest that was above my level, which was a side quest with level 30 with a boss fight

I would also say that this game is quite far from Ubisoft bloat. It much more values exploration and quests over checklists. The only thing I felt that overstayed its welcome were Merlin trials which felt way too repetitive, at least for me

Its more akin to Elden Ring than a Ubisoft game. I never once felt like I was just ticking things off. The world isnt overly huge either so its packed wirh little details.

Yeah that's odd, you don't even have to do side quest, even just exploring will net a ton of xp since the collection stuff like field guide pages give a lot of it, I'm pretty much constantly much higher level than any mission presented to me.

I can't with these flight controls.

For the life of me, why would they not just map movement to the left stick and looking around to the right stick?

My monkey brain can't properly handle the input required. You need L and R buttons to accelerate, the left stick horizontal to move left and right, the right stick up and down to gain or lose altitude. All the while you can't look around.

Controlling your broom is like tapping your head with your left arm while making circles on your chest with your right arm.

Bizarre control scheme.

And the horizontal dead zone on R3 is horrible.

i want to buy this game but i would like to know some things before i spend 70$

1. Is the story any good or is it typical good guy vs bad guy ?

2. How much depth is there to the magic spells , can you upgrade them ?

3. How is the interaction with the world , i heard that npcs dont react to using unforgivable curse or stealing

4. Are puzzles fun or are they like in ragnarok where they solve themselves ?

I realized it's going to take a long time and a lot of gold to build my room of requirement into the super-charged Hufflepuff herbology and potion factory that I want it to be. I should have saved up for the best tables and potion stations from the start, but necessity is a cruel mistress (that gold needed to be spent elsewhere at the time....).

In the meantime, I finally found an outfit with boots, and they have a design that matches my outfit. I also found the herbology hat (spoiler: it's in Tomes and Scrolls - up the secret staircase, get the field guide page flying around up there) which I think looks very Hufflepuff.

The hat says chomping cabbages are coming your way, the gloves say duelist when I need to, the rest is just badger drip.

1. I'm only 10 hours in but so far the story is pretty average. Sidequest dialogue/stories are not very good.

2. You can upgrade spells to become AoE, do more damage, etc.

3. It looks very nice but is mostly facade. Paintings, statues, NPCs etc. sometimes greet/react you but other than that there is no interaction.

4. So far very easy but they fit nicely into the castle setting.

i wish sidequests especially focused on few students and professors and their interpersonal life instead of the current setup of random quests and collectibles.

Upgrading all herbology skills and gear really is OP. Holy crap. Drop two cock-diesel cabbages at once, then a tentacula, warp off and hide, and they will wipe out a room - event he boss as well sometimes.

I had a main story quest where I was 8 going up against level 20 spiders.
You went the wrong way, if you are talking about the jackdaw quest. I did the same on my first playthrough. He stops and moves aside to stands in front of the path to the spiders. You are supposed to continue on the path he moves aside to let you through. On my second character I noticed this.

The Office Thank You GIF

The flight controls are terrible and they're actively lessening my enjoyment of the flying segments.

They need to patch that shit asap, offer alternate schemes.
