Well that was actually pretty bad. Gonna double regret watching this tomorrow morning at work.

Best of the show:
- Helldivers 2
- Alan Wake 2
- MGS3 Remake
- VR game with Jennifer Hale and David Hayter
-Spidey 2

Edit. Where the fuck is Bloodborne and what is Bluepoint doing?

D and I am being generous.

The only Single Player game from their first party at the Showcase was Spider-Man 2. It is slightly concerning the higher ups greenlit this showcase knowing their strength is first party solo experiences, and this is what people would expect after 20 months of no proper showcase. But, it was chock full of GaaS, indies and MP.

Also, we know nothing about future of PS Studios when it comes to SP games. It's Spider-Man 2 this Fall, and beyond that nothing. Sony are just another publisher who are chasing the golden geese when it comes to GaaS race and considering the massive amount of investments they have made, I can't help but feel it'll backfire hard and they'll have to plateau towards their strength, which is story based games. Very disappointing showing.

Pretty boring, but that's all conferences these days. Maybe I'm getting old. It was some titles that got me excited for a PS5 tho so that's good. I definitely want a PS5 if I get the money.

At least back in the day when they were making Ratchet and Clank or Resistance trilogy, those games felt VERY different from one another, but this is like an exact same game. I mean, I'm still gonna play it since I liked the last two but it's a bit disappointing that they didn't really try to shake things up anymore.

Imagine giving it anything other than an F- with literally ONE first party game with gameplay.

Sony pulled a Redfall with their conference. Unacceptable.

CG Trailers all around. If you got this higher than an F you need to raise those standards.

Alan Wake was the only good looking game.

D at best. This was not a Sony I like, and for damn sure not the "E3 of dreams" Sony.

Only interesting things for me were MGS, DD2, Phantom Blade, RE4VR and Spider-Man only in part because it looked rough as hell.

That was just above average - there were some great looking games in there - but no 1st party bangers - 6/10 - it would have been a 5/10 if it hadn’t have been for the Beat Sabre shadow drop.

Where was ND? Death Stranding 2? I could go on.

I think PS only wants to show whats closer to get a release in the next 12 months.

On the other hand, i think we will get more at all other upcoming shows including SoP.

A Resistance remaster trilogy would be awesome btw Sony. Hell do Killzone too. Just to guage the interest if anything.

What's even more worrying is they will push more into generic trash live service games. Sony will be joining the other trash western publishers and become just like them.

Bit surprised, I couldn't follow on gaf so just had it on the big TV. I thought it was gonna be way more positive than the reaction here lol.

First one I've enjoyed in a while. Had a mid show lull but lots I was interested in.

No killzone collection,
no resistance collection,
no bloodborne ps5 port,
no bloodborne 2...
MGS collection is fine but no 4. no Kojima.... No death Stranding 2
Spider Man looked mid and too much like a marvel movie
everything was live service

No new pulse3d, handheld is fine.
And the problem is that everything fucking leaked months before. No surprise whatosever

really excited to replay metal gear solid 1-3 and remake. Wished to see gameplay.

spiderman 2 looks good.

Looks like Keighley’s Summer Gamefest is where the real hype and dreams of all gamers will come true.


EDIT: Best part of the showcase was reminding muself Tears Of The Kingdom is released and going back to playing it.

Nintendo’s eventual summer direct with a switch 2 announcement looks like it will reign supreme this year

It will rate lower than it should because everybody rightfully expected more 1st party gameplay and we didn't get it. Nothing from ND, SP, Santa Monica and Bluepoint... Obviously people will be disappointed. At least we got Spiderman 2 demo.

But we had great 3rd party games like Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2, the new AC or RE4 VR... And MGS3 remake too.

I guess games take a lot longer to make these days, so we have to be more patient.

No PC ports other than online junk, that was crap.

Jim better bring out the prayer book to meet those PC revenue targets this year.

Some great surprises like Phantom Blade and Dragons Dogma 2. Helldivers looks like it’ll be a great coop shooter and interested in Bungies Marathon. But not enough gameplay and where the hell is all of the 1st party?!? Give me a Factions update!
