It's my Birthday in September and she fits very easily in my tv unit.

What are the chances of a limited edition Starfield XBSX coming out upon release?

I just finished watching this and I'm genuinely blown away. I'm so impressed with the level of detail and the vast size of the game.

Well done big daddy Phil you've finally pulled me over to the green side.💚

I still have doubts about certain aspects of this game and they basically soft-confirmed no 60 FPS support (if it were there, why not show it in the Direct?).

However, some of my other concerns were done away with, and I'm really liking the depth of the ship customization (for both interior & exterior), the space flight fights (among some of the best parts of what was shown), more options in how missions can progress, planet exploration among diverse biomes and wildlife, etc. The gunplay also looks better vs. the 2022 footage.

I don't think it's going to be the cultural movement Skyrim was in its day, but it doesn't have to be. The game looks fun, looks like it has scale and depth, and (mostly) has the exploration elements present. And there isn't another open-world space-themed WRPG coming anytime soon, so Starfield has a benefit there as well.

It looks like it'll be the start of (hopefully) genuinely great 1P AAA games from Microsoft going forward. The question is if they can maintain that consistency in quality (if not get better) and release cadence. Both are things Xbox has struggled with a lot over the past several years, time will tell if they're finally going to break out of it.

You can also stream it on your Xbox One via xCloud (most likely), or on your smartphone or tablet. FWIW.

Yeah I think. 60 FPS is not gonna happen on consoles here - no way. Which honestly I’m totally fine with because it actually seems ambitious enough to not be 60 - however I do wish I had a nice PC

This is going to be the first game that is available on Game Pass that I'm just going to buy outright on Steam. I can easily see this being one of those games that I'm playing for years just like Oblivion and Skyrim.
Yeah if it turns out as good as it looks then I'll probably do the same. As long as its cross-save/progression that is.

Too big honestly. Why do they feel games need to be this huge? Could've made 5 normal games in this size.
This is intimidating and scary to start playing a game this huge. I think it's size is t it's detriment
Its once every 10 years. You best believe it needs to be 120 gb huge. Play it like an mmo, off and on while devouring other shorter experiences.

Starfield running at 4k/60 on the XSX Pro could be a nice selling point, hmm.

I honestly think Microsoft is a thief of their own wallet for not releasing this on Playstation.
Day 1 Gamepass + Exclusive content for Xbox should have been more than enough to sway people over to Xbox that are swayable without alienating Playstation owners. There are lot of PS owners that won't switch to Xbox for this game but would have bought it if it were availible for PS.

Maybe they will once Sony starts releasing its exclusives on Xbox.

Buy a computer, this game runs on a 1070.

Why not with steam? Loads of games do it. Windows/game pass/xbox cross save is a given.
Just guessing really not really sure about it. Just think Starfield is a huge enough game to do so. Not even sure if cross save is in the works. Skyrim Anniversary edition was a great time to test it.

Can choose any location on planets to land, or designated locations. (They set a landing spot but then went to the city instead in the video)

Unless am misunderstanding what you’re meaning?
You might wanna check again. Seems like it'll just put you in that regions landing zone.

The best thing about this game is it was shown at 30fps and everyone says it looks great. The framerate warriors will have to play a 30fps game and admit it plays perfectly fine.

Hopefully this ends the nonsensical push for 60 in everything. Fuck off with that shit now.

Honestly, I watched this again. It might be the best showcase for a game I’ve ever seen. Who knows maybe it’ll disappoint but damn I have never seen a deep dive that got me hyped like that - also agree with some others this should not be locked to a single console

Or they play on a platform where 60 fps is the minimum expected
If you own a capable gaming PC, why would you be worried about being able to run this at 60fps?

If you own an Xbox Series X/S, there is nothing available right now that has the complex systems and physics capability of the creation engine running at 60fps.

Just a reminder that the Fallout 4 trailer and deep dive was 30fps, and the Skyrim trailer was 30fps. In fact i dont think i have ever seen a 60fps trailer/gameplay vid from Todd and his team.

I'm not trying to say it will be 60fps on consoles, in fact it probably wont, i'm just saying judging framerate from a Bethesda Maryland trailer/gameplay vid means little.

And i ran Skyrim at 60fps at launch on a 9600GSO, which was a repackaged 8800GTS lol.

Why would you even want to play this on current gen consoles at a choppy 30FPS. This game deserves more than that.

Nonsensical push? Idk about all that.
60fps makes games feel more responsive and better to play.
It also arguably elevates the overall presentation in action-heavy titles imo, considering that action and animation go hand and hand.

Video games aren't just their visuals or just their gameplay, but both in tandem.
So the push for higher framerates and smoother performance is like a rising tide that lifts all boats.
There isn't much of a downside when developers often provide setting options between graphics and performance, or a nice balance using VRR.
Not to mention the use of AI upscaling via DLSS and such.

Can a game still be good, if not great, even at 30fps? Of course. Ask anyone for their top 10, and you'll find 30fps titles among them.
Although the pursuit of higher framerates and smoother performance is a net benefit to gaming, not a detriment.

The game looks considerably better than the first showing, but the characters still have dead space staring eyes.
The trailer does a great job of hyping, so hopefully this won't have a bad launch.
