The bear of bad news
Always the explorations in Bethesda

Not sold on the combats or moving around my characters this part or the trailer looks good but they only show shorts clips so I'm noooooooooot sure

Where to begin, OP.

Seeing the beauty of each planet and just enjoying seeing where I can get to. Then taking in the view again.

Studying the strange alien life.

Then going to these cities that have 20 NPCs or so onscreen at a given time.

Building ships and outposts. Make a Firefly like ship as one of them.

Having more than 1 character so I can play different styles.

The mods for your weapons sound like a lot of fun.

Etc.

I'd be surprised if they actually nail the shooting aspect of the game. However, I'm a stealth type of guy and if it ends up like Skyrim I'm gonna be disappointed.

Sorry you’re sensitive about me noticing and pointing it out.

? lol Stop man.

The fact that you guys went out of your way to cry about this is insane, you are literally on a page where the only people that even started talking about this shit, are the ones then crying about being victims.

Look, Starfield is a day 1 for me, always has been...lets keep the actual fucking thread about Starfield. The irony about not wanting "them" to derail the thread....you seem to have did a great job of that without them btw. lol

Same.

I need that Battlestar Galactica mod lol I hope they have ship mods, but with how they've made the ships, it sounds like it can be much more difficult to pull off.

Agreed.

Combat to me regarding their titles is always secondary, like in Fallout, it was serviceable, it was never something I'd play for combat ALONE, its the core gameplay, the story, the world, the NPC, VATs lol

(I really fucking wish they had VATS) I hope someone makes a mod for something like that, but that sounds really complex for someone to based on how it pauses the game.

I'm ready for it to be my only game for a while and spending like 250 plus hours in it.
This 100000%. Put hundreds of hours in Fallout 4 on PS4....then put hundreds on PC lol I ended up putting like 270 plus hours in Fallout 4 and that was before the DLC, I love Elder Scrolls IP, but I love the modern stuff with Fallout maybe a bit better so I see me putting in some monster hours on Starfield, especially with mods.

250 hours might be the tip of the ice berg with this one.
I want a space Dark Brotherhood.
Or a Thieves Guild (space pirates!)

^ To my understanding, something like that exist in the game, but I think that is this game's greatest appeal, its by a trusted team that fully understands how theses systems work and has decades of experience, so its not just them marking or claiming something or showing a trailer and exaggerating something or just being "lore", its from a perspective of a team that is deeply established in this concept and we already can see how that would work in this space setting.

Like joining some pirate crew, being initiated based on some crime done or based on stats selected. If any other team told us this would be a game, its like "sure, talk to us when its released" but Bethesda saying this makes this completely different as they actually can feasibly do that based on their history.

I might be asking too much, but I would really like to explore a single planet extensively and see the transitions between biomes, weather, and just overall regional changes on a planet.

Also is there a OT for Starfield yet, because there is a very nice indepth breakdown of the showcase that just released on YT that's over 100 minutes long that would be useful in the OT.

Fair enough. Sorry everyone.

I want to build a dreadnought class ship, and terrorize the galaxy as a space pirate.

If this was a multiplayer game scam citizen would be in trouble.

Massive facts.

I'm tired of being the good guy in the first playthrough on these types of games, I'm going to be the bad guy and I don't give a fuck anymore lol Every crime imaginable........I'm doing it in this game. A perk allows you to have parents, Ima kill em for the end game.

You earn a new friend after a fire fight where you save their ship from Pirates, only to find out I was the bigger bitch and rob them. I hate that I always do the thief and bad guys stuff later in some RPGs and find out its fun as fuck, I'm going to be a pirate and a bad guy from the jump.

I’ve been thinking about that too.

Part of me feels less immersed in the world though and I wonder if I’ll feel good about enjoying the sights and beauty as a theiving, murdering jerk. I know it sounds weird.

Outside of that, I’ve been thinking of modeling my guy after Malcolm Reynolds or Jayne Cobb from Firefly.

I want co-op in Starfield. But overall multiplayer still won’t be the same since traversal and everything else will still have limited factors in Starfield. Star Citizen is a complete different league.

I get you, but I'm trying to put myself in the mindset of being a ruthless space pirate that will get his credits BY ANY MEANS! lol

Damn that was a good ass series!!!!!

I'm thinking of either modeling my character either from Michael Burnham from Star Trek Discovery

Or Amos Burton from The Expanse.

Would actually do Bishop from Aliens 1 if they had Robots as an option lol

I remember saying I felt Fallout should have Synths as a playable character and always wondered why Humans were the only character you could play in Fallout, yet so many different races in Elder Scrolls.

Lol you are lucky this is not a multyplayer game or using that whiny cunt would be a safe way to be the most hated being in the universe:lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Go with amos, an actual good character.

Walking on an empty wide map with a pistol, I liked this aspect of shooter games since forever.

lol subjective, I see them both as good characters.

I'll probably do many playthroughs where I make all sorts of scfi characters I like tbh

The disappointment on release day when people realize it's just fallout 4 with a space travel mini game inserted between maps

I mean...shit that sounds like a lot of fun though lol

Many of us are buying it knowing damn well that is what it likely is, but that is a plus to some of us, not a minus.

Day 1.

At least its not a scam lol

man....the hoarding. In both skyrim and fall out I had rooms filled with weapons and armour...most of which I never actually used because I always found others (that were usually even better). I even had chest of drawers full of clothes in fallout 4. this game will be a massive time sink, in the bvest way possible, as long as its not buggy at launch.

Just be happy for the release of Starfield. You are probably 1 of the people who make such a comment about star citizen and the fans and that they are idiots, but you are starting to get nasty traits yourself. No one is forcing you to like another game, this just kind of shows that you are pathetic and insecure.

I loved collecting skulls in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim 🙈 . In Morrowind I also built grim altar in my "home" (the house in Balmora with the orc lady)

I don’t know if it’s already been mentioned, but the thing that I look forward to most with these games is when the game opens up for you for the first time following what is normally a linear prologue - Oblivion being my favourite. Skyrim kind of ruined it because of the prologue starting outdoors.

I get what you mean. I reckon we might get multiple of those moments in Starfield I.e. Start inside > venture outsitde > venture to outer space > venture to new planets …

I really feel like Cartman waiting for the Nintendo Wii right now, just freeze me until it comes out

I don’t know why EDMIX EDMIX laughed at you here, this is a well-known aspect of Bethesda’s RPGs, Todd called it Step-Out Moment. Oblivion has my favorite too, I’ll never forget when I got out of that starter cave and stepped out on that huge and lush map for the first time. 11/10 moment right there. 👌
Todd said that Starfield will have two step-out moments.
Can’t wait!

Edit: and there comes EDMIX EDMIX with the laugh emoji again 🤔
