Gamesradarès Baldur's Gate 3 preview is pure hype

After the bear sex scene I decided to take a good look at this game, and it's looking really promising.

I plan on getting it for PS5.

How is the controller support? Any early access videos controller gameplay?
there is no controller support in early access. it's coming at launch.

if you want to get an idea of what it might be like then check out some D:OS2 gameplay. D:OS2 looks like a casual mobile game next to BG3 though.

if this is humor i don't wanna even see what is next, u guys are mental.
Fuck off then :) Nobody is interested in what you have to say.

Check out resetera they might listen to you.

nightmare-slain nightmare-slain again, lets put a magic horse fucking a elven girl in a fantasy game and let's see how it ll turn out.
I don't know about a horse but a druid can turn into a wolf and your character can be female so yeah....you'll probably be able to have a female elf/wolf sex scene. Does that upset you?

lol, yeah sex with animals is super health, what is next ? u guys a mental if u think this is normal, look for help u are in need.
again.... it's a fantasy role playing game. if you think this is bad you should see what people get up in a real D&D game.

i don't agree with real people fucking real animals (of course) but it's a video game that gives the player a lot of freedom to ROLE PLAY.

For christ sake, that guy is a vampire, not an elf!
actually he is a high-elf

If none of those issues are present by release and there are no real problems with the game mechanics and quests, the only thing that'll be left to ask is: what the fuck is the rest of the industry doing?

Derail any more BG3 threads and you will be removed.
how are we still here.

It's a videogame. The scene is deliberately comedic, it's not like they are depicting full on bear dick penetrating asshole so the 0.001% of nerds into that can whack one off to it. Reaching so hard with this take.
yeah, it may be comedic for some but its a reference to zoophilia too, i get that is a "Fantasy game" "role playing" but at least for me we have to drawn a line on what is ok and what is not, my fear is what ppl ll do next using the "its fantasy games" as a shield, but i ll drop this subject here.

I was thinking more in the lines of poor management and too much corporativism, but i guess modern diversity hiring policies is a symptom of those.

perhaps you should draw that line as a circle around yourself preferably 100 feet wide so none of us have to go near you then, miserable git

Sure some furry weirdos will be jacking off to it but who cares, thats on them. You nor me will ever have to see it.

You're concerned about an ELF fucking a BEAR? You do know there are no elves and people can't actually turn into bears, right?
Oh, the classic bullshit reduction.

IT'S FANTASY, YOU CAN HAVE MAZINGER IN YOU D&D GAME!

Druids have always been a part of D&D and there have always been a ton of comedic references in games, media, whatever about how they...fuck(in what form, etc.) for like 20 years? How is this comedic scene triggering? Lmao. It is fucking hilarious. Move on or dont play the game.

Unironically this game looks and sounds too good to be true
There has to be a trick or some shortcoming

The shortcomings are that a) it's Forgotten Realms and b) that instead of going for an 80's-90's Elmore-inspired art direction they went for art inspiration in Korean MMOs and Final Fantasy (just like D&D these days). The armour and weapons make me wanna puke. Outside of that, it looks fantastic. Probably day one for me along with Starfield. I'm that hyped.

Only a weak ass man would back down from rolling a 1 in combat 5 times in a row. Real men deal with it.

It would be amazing if there actually is a “dice jail” in this game. Like, it wouldn’t affect your rolls ultimately, just you’re using different colored dice and such if you throw your current die “in jail”, but all the TTRPG’ers would definitely nod in approval at its inclusion.

Not sure if you mean like having advantage rolls?

Any chance of there being a demo on PS5? I've never played a western RPG like this, and I'm not sure if it would be something I'd get into or not.

I havent heard anything. If you have cash to spare and a PC why not try it on steam and then refund it. You can play for 2 hours before you can no longer refund which should be enough to give you an idea of how the game is.

No, it refers to players having multiple of the same type of dice (like seven D20s, four D10s, etc.) and using one of them until they feel it’s “betrayed them”/“ran out of luck”/etc. and it’s thrown in “dice jail” and a different dice of the same number of sides is used to replace it until it also inevitably disappoints the player at some point and so the cycle continues.

You can even purchase actual dice jails (typically players would just set the dice aside and say “it’s in jail”).

This practice is particularly common among “dice goblins” who buy lots of dice due to so many color and theme variations and thus have a big dice bag(s) completely filled…..I definitely am not one of those people……

Can't think of a cRPG with a demo :pie_thinking:
Not even Divinity original sin 2 has a demo, as far as i'm aware (?) which was also from these devs so i doubt there will be a demo.

cRPG genre (it's complicated to define.. western RPG but not really) that have roots from the isometric golden age of BG2 / Planescape / Fallout / Arcanum, have typically crazy depth in the repercussions of your choices, the interactions with your team member, the possibilities on how you approach a problem such as brute forcing, talk your way out of it, sneak past, etc.

Larian took the foundation of those games and RAMPED up the gameplay interactivity to 11 in Divinity original sin franchise, they have a lot more flexibility with what you can do. Seems like BG3 is again another ramp up that will be to remember for ages.

I don't know how i can sell you on cRPG honestly, other than it's the best and purest form of RPG out there. The way they have the choice and consequence mechanics that you just don't see much elsewhere or just not as in-depth from other genres.

Maybe this is for you, the guy was also new to cRPG genre and loved it.

never played this franchise or games from this studio seems like they're offering something different than what I usually play this like a more advanced/complex super mario RPG? might check it out

I mean he can skip that shit and dialogue if he wants to see the gameplay.

Still don't think you can really form an opinion in 2 hours for cRPG genre

But oh well, i can't find any other alternative as there's no demo for the genre in general it seems.

Buying Baldur's gate 2 Enhanced edition on a tablet or PS5 for cheap ~$10 might be the safest bet, but understanding that the mechanics have changed and that well, BG2 is like the grand-father of the genre, plenty of quality of life improvements since then.

Welp, I recently beat Baldur's Gate a few months ago but I've never played II, so starting that up now so I can beat this in preparation for BG III! Hopefully it's very good and like the old games in style.

Gonna have to make a 2nd playthrough at least for the dark urge path

Swen Vincke: If you want to be the ultimate evil character, I would recommend playing The Dark Urge and following his instincts. Every time you have the choice to follow his dark thoughts, you do just that. Then you become really evil.

MeinMMO: What do I have to consider when making decisions? What does it involve following a dark path?

Swen Vincke:
You get great power when you follow the dark instinct. I don't want to give too much away, but your drive is connected to something very bad. You are often asked to do things that are very evil and if you do so your power will grow very quickly. But you get very lonely and end up alone.

MeinMMO: One of your colleagues told me that if you follow the dark path you will end up alone. Where did this idea come from?

Swen Vincke:
When you deal with people who are evil and have a lot of power, everyone wants that power. At some point you have to get rid of them all.

MeinMMO: Aren't there any companions that are more on the evil side that you can take with you?

Swen Vincke:
You can definitely take evil companions with you. But you have to give them something. So if you really want to play evil, you just have to get rid of any competition.

If you take a companion with you, you have to trust them up to a point. So I would kill them all. Then I would become an evil god, which is possible. I would kill anyone at the first opportunity so I don't have to deal with them.

MeinMMO: Wait, you can become an evil god?

Swen Vincke:
Without giving too much away, yes, you get divine powers.

MeinMMO: Why do you think there are so few games that let you be truly evil?

Swen Vincke:
That's a lot of work. We have that in the game because it was important to us that you really got a choice. Every decision has to lead somewhere

Statistically, most people don't play evil anyway. If 95% of your target audience plays well and only 5% plays evil, then it's hardly worth the work. But even if it's few, I believe it's important to have a choice, because otherwise your choices mean nothing.

Mad respect for implementing probably hours and hours of dialogue / text / side quests attached to a play style that maybe 0.001% of users will explore.

I'm shocked that it says statistically only 5% play evil.. wtf, I always choose evil path and come back around for the "good" path in things like Mass Effect, etc. Just seems very low.

I'm definitely interested in how much room they'll give the player to play "evil" yet still keep a fair amount of choice in terms of exactly where that path will take you.

Say, to put it in Star Wars terms...not everyone wants to be Palpatine, at least not fully. Some would like to be Vader or Thrawn for that matter, where you're evil but not completely bonkers about it.
