I thought developers wanted to be on gamepass and it somehow increased sales and was a win-win.

Alan Wake 2 got a lot of shit for being digital only but BG3 was kinda just exempt from the same criticism for the longest while.

That's a weird stance to take in what is arguably one of the best years for game pass

I mean, he's right about this part... especially with the unpolished quality that was Redfall, Starfield and Forza.

I can also imagine that, if they were gauranteed to get some risk-free minimum income, they wouldn't have cared as much to polish it to the extent they did. In that way I can definitely see GP devaluating the standards that companies set for themselves. We see it in other services too (Netflix).

Strongly agree, my friend. The hype for this game came right at a time when I was vulnerable. I rarely buy digital, and have never paid more than $40 for a digital game. I bought BG3 at full price and regret it. If I had a disc, I could pass it along to someone who would play it. Never again.

I guess developers who put there games on gamepass are dumb and don't know what they are doing.

You know what's even more annoying? People who hate consumer-friendly options.

Theres literally nothing more consumer friendly about gamepass or xbox than anything sony or nintendo are doing.
The things people will pull straight out of their ass to justify putting their favorite company/toy above others never fails to provide endless amusement for me.

I rarely buy games at 70, only the ones I'm really want to enjoy on the launch windows, for the rest I wait until the game is more palatable at 30~40 bucks, an example, I bought FFXVI just now on the BF sale, and I'm glad I waited, that game don't worth full price.
